ITV's Believe Me follows the harrowing true story of the victims of black cab rapist John Worboys

In total there are four episodes in the series.
You can watch the first episode of Believe Me on Sunday, May 10, on ITV1 and ITV (https://www.walesonline.co.uk/all-about/itv) X from 9pm.

The second episode will then air the following day on Monday, May 11.

The third episode and fourth episodes will then air the following week on Sunday, May 17, and Monday, May 18.

ITV is set to air a harrowing major new drama following the true story of how the victims of one of the most prolific sex attackers in British history were failed by the system.

Believe Me tells the story of black cab rapist John Worboys who preyed on women who trusted him as a licensed taxi driver.

When they would get in the back of his cab in the 2000s he would drug and sexually assault them.

He was convicted in 2009 for crimes including sexual assault and drugging with intent against 12 women between 2006 and 2008, with their cases selected from a large number of suspected further victims.

The series follows the stories of victims Sarah (Aimée-Ffion Edwards) and Laila (Aasiya Shah) who reported the sexual assaults and were failed by the Metropolitan Police who didn't thoroughly investigate the allegations.

We later see the women fight to keep their attacker in jail years after he was convicted for his crimes.

I heard of it. 😊 but not enough to remember the ins and outs. Excited to watch! I wrote it down to watch a few days back.

I do like the real life docs/dramas

often appalled how much injustice is done and things they miss

I like Daniel Mays as well Blonde. I think the first time he was on my radar was in Line of Duty. He’s good in comedy as well, like Code 404.
My DD and I remember watching a documentary about Worboys a couple of years ago, but I’m looking forward to seeing this drama.

PrincessScarlett · 09/05/2026 15:42

I'm not sure whether to watch this or not as the details of this case are truly horrific. I remember the case vividly and it was a time when women were scared to get into a cab alone. Worboys' case actually made women not want to get black cabs and the alternative at the time were unlicensed mini cabs which were very risky.

Marking place as looking forward to watching this. I remember this being in the news. Love Danny Mays - first saw him in Hustle with Adrian Lester.

@Blondeshavemorefun he is so sleazy and the doc says he made ‘porn’ films in a flat in my home town ! I feel the need for a shower, it’s really worth watching to get some background

Netcurtainnelly · 10/05/2026 00:53

just another programme about a scumbag rapist that itv had tried to turn it to entertainment.
Hardly great viewing watching about a rapist.

Excited to watch a rapist operating!!!!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/05/2026 13:25

After seeing some more articles I didn’t reliese that Carrie (wife of Boris) was also attacked and raped by this animal

she spoke out about it rather then be anon

SqueakyFromme · 10/05/2026 13:53

@Blondeshavemorefun oh wow really? Perhaps that is why the Police finally took the allegations seriously as she was the wife of a Tory MP, did she report it ? Most of them didn’t as they had no clue what had happened to them.

@Netcurtainnelly but there have been countless films, series and documentaries produced about serial killers, rapists, all the heinous criminals. Crime is a huge percentage of content in broadcasting.

it's not going to make you feel good by watching crime. Don't you want something. that uplifts you, makes you feel good.
He's just a scummy human who raped women loads of them about sadly.
myself I enjoyed that nice programme about David Attenborough at the Albert Hall the other night

I don’t remember this story either blondes. I’ll be watching.

It’s ok to enjoy a dramatisation for its acting, coverage of the story, raising issues of the topic/crime. It doesn’t mean you enjoy the crime.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/05/2026 16:42

Absolutely @daffodilandtulip- I’m sure that’s what @SqueakyFromme meant

@Blondeshavemorefun thank you though I have reported my reply as it’s incorrect, anyway I’m watching part one now.

1reason · 10/05/2026 17:43

I have already watched first 3 of 4 episodes and loved it!
I did not remember the John Worboys case.
No spoilers, but great cast and production. Each episode led you to want to see more.
The focus is really on the police process/ procedures and the affected women and their lives rather than the assaults.
Highly recommend!
