Yea I don't think he's gonna get thru with that. Especially since he only rated himself 5

Too much protein glue is not something you'd hear on a regular day!!

Jeez a toothpick of fish

LaMarschallin · 24/02/2026 19:55

Hate marrows. DH used to grow courgettes and there seems to be 5 seconds between courgette and bloody marrow

Exactly

I wonder if at some point we will get someone doing a 'wafer thin mint'?

I am also predicting a dish called Whisky Galore! in Scotland.

Someone should also reproduce one of Aubrey's creations from Life Is Sweet.

Sunbird24 · 24/02/2026 19:57

Bye Exose!

PotterHead1985 · 24/02/2026 19:57

Stuffed marrows! My mum used to make them in the late 70s, early 80s. We had an uncle with a great big garden.

SnowFrogJelly · 24/02/2026 19:58

Watching later

JaneJeffer · 24/02/2026 19:58

Why does she write 8 like that? 😭

Yes. It's one of my favourite things about the show.

PotterHead1985 · 24/02/2026 19:59

Tomorrow at 7pm folks. Off to Masterchef go I.

I've definitely done them but DCs weren't keen.
Not even DH was and he kept growing them!

Mine too! Big lump of watery marrow filled with savoury mince…

CapabilityBrownsHaHa · 24/02/2026 20:02

Well! No huge surprise there. Let's hope for a bit of drama tomorrow. 😉

Is there a sweepstake for the first incidence of the ice-cream maker failure this series?

Fransgran · 24/02/2026 20:18

Years ago when I watched Coronation Street, Deirdre Barlow's signature dish was stuffed marrow. Everyone else rolled their eyes and cracked rude jokes but she seemed blithely inaware. They're only really fir for ribaldry.

Or possessive aggro over the blast chiller!

CapabilityBrownsHaHa · 25/02/2026 18:39

Only just got on a train, which doesn't leave for 5 minutes, so chances of me watching along are zero tonight.

I shall try to keep up with your commentary (and / or iPlayer).

EsmaCannonball · 25/02/2026 19:03

Laurel and Hardy did a film called Laughing Gravy, featuring the cutest film dog.

EsmaCannonball · 25/02/2026 19:04

Withnail and I! I approve. Now that is a proper, iconic British film.

That chicken had better be served in a pair of old boots.

PotterHead1985 · 25/02/2026 19:05

Cheesy chips yes please.

That's 2 hispi cabbages tonight so far. It is clear the hispi is back!!

I don't see the connection of that beef dish with Wallace and Gromit. Ok, there's Wensleydale in it but that's it.
