Hello!
Hoping for some good dishes from the Welsh lot this week

EsmaCannonball · 17/03/2026 19:02

If we don't get The Pie Who Came In From the Cold I am going to be mightily disappointed.

EsmaCannonball · 17/03/2026 19:04

I remember really not liking Corrin last year. IIRC, he was really arsey and rude and, I seem to remember, he seemed particularly belittling of the female chefs.

Andi's outfit is very 'Joan Crawford's pyjamas.'

That’s her second set of PJs this series so far

I expected Under Milk Wood to make an appearance, but not sure how teriyaki bbq mushrooms fits that

EsmaCannonball · 17/03/2026 19:13

Link to Wales is a bit tenuous but at least Lawrence of Arabia is a properly iconic British film.

Under Milk Wood is properly Welsh.

Silence of the Lambs, not a British film but the idea is fun.

Sunbird24 · 17/03/2026 19:15

There’s altogether too much mushroom in the starters for me this week

EsmaCannonball · 17/03/2026 19:15

I remember John's man-bun more than I remember his cooking.

Sunbird24 · 17/03/2026 19:16

Same!

Looks like just me & thee tonight Esma

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 17/03/2026 19:17

Some very slender links to Wales. I am not loving the sound of any of these.

Sunbird24 · 17/03/2026 19:20

Oh he’s finally added a ‘milk’ element

Fransgran · 17/03/2026 19:21

I was hoping someone would have referenced How Green Was My Valley (my mother used to make us watch all the oldies) but I suppose it's just way too antique. Also gloomy and doesn't really suggest gourmet food

EsmaCannonball · 17/03/2026 19:21

I feel we've seen this kind of 'wood and foliage' presentation a lot on GBM.

Sunbird24 · 17/03/2026 19:23

The little rugs are cute

It's the only really Welsh-y film I can think of ..... which means there's literally no chance of them doing it.

Fransgran · 17/03/2026 19:24

True!

EsmaCannonball · 17/03/2026 19:25

I think this presentation isn't bad but doesn't live up to the cinematic-ness of the film. It needs the theme tune, the heat haze, a waiter on a camel or something.

I’ve thought of Twin Town

CapabilityBrownsHaHa · 17/03/2026 19:26

Evening! Just got in. Have I missed much?

Why is Andi wearing a name tag??

LIZS · 17/03/2026 19:27

What has that got to do with Silence of the Lambs!

It's a prop. She's meant to be someone visiting the prison in Silence of the Lambs.

It’s a prop - prison visitor pass

It was ‘not liver’ , with fava borlotti beans

EsmaCannonball · 17/03/2026 19:28

Although I am slightly irked by the weak link, I thought the Silence of the Lambs one was quite clever.
