If they’re supposed to be tasting blind why do the boxes say Nikita’s on them?

Ooh, good point. Disqualify her!

Although, I reckon most weeks they can easily work it out, especially when the chefs come from a different country or ethnicity and are cooking in that style.

CapabilityBrownsHaHa · 12/03/2026 19:50

Ooooo, will it all go tits up for the egg??

EsmaCannonball · 12/03/2026 19:52

Everyone at the banquet will think this is from Jurassic Park.

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 12/03/2026 19:52

I'm not keen on Ash but I'd eat that egg

EsmaCannonball · 12/03/2026 19:53

Film producer lady is eating like Anita Dobson now.

CapabilityBrownsHaHa · 12/03/2026 19:53

Well, it didn't blow them away, but they were impressed.

LaMarschallin · 12/03/2026 19:54

Why don't they give people a spoon and a fork for pudding?
Watching film producer woman poking food onto her spoon with her nice manicured fingers is yuk!

ExitPursuedByABare · 12/03/2026 19:55

Yay.

Mammy potter would have WHOLEHEARTEDLY agreed with you.

Darn it. I suppose she did cook well

Ok. Well, good luck to Nikita. I hope Ash comes back.

Are they doing the wild card thing again this year? If there are no decent vegan dishes elsewhere, it might be Ash.....

Sunbird24 · 12/03/2026 19:57

I found Nikita far less annoying as a chef than a skills-test-setter

littlbrowndog · 12/03/2026 19:57

Yes she did. Ash lost it on the main dish

well done Nikita

I was wondering about the wildcard too. They haven't mentioned it so I guess not.

LaMarschallin · 12/03/2026 19:58

Nikita did really well even if she wasn't really crying at the end, imo

EsmaCannonball · 12/03/2026 19:59

'You deserve everything that's coming your way' said in Ash's voice sounded quite sinister. Thank god it's Nikita who has that cleaver.

It was her? But she was so - - up herself-- assertive, and here she's so submissive!

We never hear the men described as up themselves assertive 🤔
Spencer for instance would be considered bold and confident but never up himself

I'm not sure Spencer is the best example because he's proved he's in a different class from most of the other chefs in the competition.
The extra things and improvements that he suggests are things he could do and, imo, would have already thought of.

I was referring to Spencer the GBM contestant, he would have been in the same position as Nikita or anyone else. Relatively unknown to the general public and looking to prove himself. I recall he was quite confident and assertive in his ideas and execution but would probably never have been described as up himself.

Substitute any other male chef in the GBM rounds who were skilled and assertive - Tommy Banks?

Why is Nikita’s assertiveness viewed negatively? Would we prefer the women to be self effacing?

But we are not referring to her from her gbm time. You need to go and find the section where she set the skills tests on the most recent mc the professionals to see what we are saying

Never knew she returned to MC to set skills test as hardly watch MC these days. However, I did see DH watching when former MC finalist Matthew Ryles set the test.

Matthew appeared very confident, sure of what he was doing and what to expect from the contestants which is what you expect from someone setting the test. This is what I’d expect from Nikita too so why is her assertiveness viewed negatively?

And of course her manner will be different on GBM where she is a contestant up against very skilled chefs, time pressures, stress etc

CurlewKate · 14/03/2026 19:47

Don’t know if this has already been discussed-sorry if it has-but does anyone think Andi has kind of lost her sparkle? I know she has lost a lot of weight- but you’d expect that to give her more bounce and energy, not less. She’s a favorite of mine- and it’s sad to see her looking so…flat.

Maggiethecat · 14/03/2026 20:54

I think it does take getting used to seeing them when someone’s weight has changed very significantly, in whichever direction.

Andi is probably adjusting to it too.

The full throated laugh and enthusiasm is still there, for me, and I reckon I’ll get used to her new look eventually.

Cookingdoesntgettougher · 15/03/2026 08:15

I actually prefer Andi this year.

EsmaCannonball · 17/03/2026 19:00

I haven't noticed any difference in Andi. I have heard that being on weight loss jabs makes you feel permanently slightly queasy. Maybe the last thing she feels like is eating?
