I haven't seen Gregory's Girl for decades. Loved Claire Grogan. I remember reading that the producers wanted to drop her after her face was scarred when a glass was thrown in a bar fight and the director had to really fight to keep her in the film. Hollywood people are awful.

littlbrowndog · 03/03/2026 19:02

Yay Scotland

EsmaCannonball · 03/03/2026 19:04

Do we reckon Orry's mum was a big fan of Patrick Swayze as Orry Main in North and South?

Sunbird24 · 03/03/2026 19:04

I treated myself to a bag of m&s mint selection for the train home! Just got in, having eaten way too many butter mintoes!

LaMarschallin · 03/03/2026 19:09

The canape tasting always reminds me of the Friends episode where Monica has painstakingly prepared a meal to audition for a new restaurant. The owner turns up having been smoking weed and has got the munchies - Monica's beautiful amuse bouches are just swallowed "Gulp gulp gulp" and he's already looking for something else.

EsmaCannonball · 03/03/2026 19:09

Unless X-Men 2 was shot in Galashiels and starred Jimmy Logan then it doesn't effing count.

PotterHead1985 · 03/03/2026 19:10

Oh thank god it's not from the toilet scene!!!

Shallow Grave and Trainspotting pass muster but I am already having conniptions at the weak links to the brief. The films need to be cult or iconic or just plain well-known and strongly connected to Scotland.

CapabilityBrownsHaHa · 03/03/2026 19:12

Link to brief is often hard with the vegan starter, but "an actor is Scottish" is a bit tenuous. Especially when he's playing a character from Tibet!

CapabilityBrownsHaHa · 03/03/2026 19:13

Lol. Cross-post!
