Ronnie and Kevin's new double act is quite entertaining!

I would stop watching if Corrie reverted back to an hour, I found it absolutely painful to get through. Corrie was always 30 minutes until the 2022 change, it isn't the shorter format which is the problem, it's the crapola storylining. I am very glad when the pain stops after 23 minutes 😆

strugglingwithlife · 25/02/2026 16:13

I prefer the shorter episodes. Would get bored with an hour unless something really exciting was happening

1reason · 25/02/2026 16:16

I might start saving up episodes to ' binge watch'.
Saw spoilers for next week...even more ridiculous stories looming!

Shellingbynight · 25/02/2026 16:35

I've just watched tonight's episode, it was dire apart from a couple of good lines. At least it was over quickly😆

TipsyPeachSnake · 25/02/2026 16:41

I would like the episodes to be just a few minutes longer but still prefer daily episodes that are short than the 3 weekly long ones.

I watched it early today too, well, I say “watched”, I think I zoned out for most of it. Have they changed the scriptwriters or something? I want old Corrie back!

Deadringer · 25/02/2026 17:46

The problem for me is the editing, they zoom from one scene to the next too quickly, one second you are in the cafe, the next on the street, it just feels so rushed. I dont like to criticise kids but that girl talking to Jodie was unbelievably wooden, it was embarrassing.

Yeah, this. I don't really want the hour long ones back, (45-46 minutes with no ad break) but 22 minutes seems too short. 30 minutes with no break would be fine.

As has been said, they're too fleeting and a bit bitty and swing from one scene to the next too quickly. And all of the new (badass) characters are a bit tedious. Jodie, Carl, Ma Driscoll, Mal, Theo, Megan Trainer, and all the naughty teens too. Even Urp has quickly gone back to being a little shit. And Will is a moody twat. And not too long back, we had Lou and Mick!

I guess we'll get used to these new teeny tiny episodes.

I just wish they would bore off with the 'bad guys' and bring a bit more humour into it. It had started to get good in the last quarter of 2025!

I also agree @Deadringer that the acting with Jodie and that young girl (on the bench) was quite badly acted and wooden.

It was such a weird scene, hard to blame the actors, I was confused about what was going on. The poor young kid had to narrate yet another part of the back story in about thirty seconds.

Gingercar · 25/02/2026 19:46

Yes 35-40 minutes of advert free Corrie daily would be good. And at 7.30 rather than 8.30.

Edited

Yeah, perhaps that was it. The dodgy writing.

Yes I think that would be fab.

Yeah, perhaps that was it. The dodgy writing.

The kid was more like a pop up narrator than an actual actor

zanahoria · 25/02/2026 19:51

I like the short episodes that focus on a few storylines, the problem is when one of those is one of the ' panto villain terrorizes the cobbles' nonsense plots, way to much Mal this week.

Shellingbynight · 25/02/2026 21:04

If you thought Olivia was poor in her scenes, she had nothing on Christina today. Just when you think it can’t get any worse, it does.

Now we’re reduced to jokes about dog poo and fleecing old ladies. Christina was ridiculously hammy.

Suddenly within the space of ten minutes, Dev, Kit, and the entire population of the street knows about Mal and Bernie. I can’t stand angry self pitying Bernie.

How does Jodie get into properties to steal books and deface photos? She stole the book because of the row Brian had with Lily, she has a thing about protecting teenage girls. But why has she got beef with Bernie.

Nobody design knickers any more. There used to be a design led knicker input when Mike was in charge. Angie mostly. And Fizz was quite arty. Then Michael or James did some design. And Alya had a fashion degree.
Now Carla is in her office and Kirk has boxes. Liam used to go to Wolverhampton and places. And trade fairs. Good old days.
Jodie is organising a time capsule.

Remember when Nina was going o be the big designer at the factory?
When she first came into Corrie she was an art student doing fantastic clothes drawings. Then, surprise surprise she was endlessly pouring tea at Roy's Rolls.

eggandonion · 25/02/2026 21:47

I'd forgotten about Nina. She should go back to the factory. Bernie and Jodie are all the staff Roy needs.

BuffysBigSister · 25/02/2026 21:58

Based on absolutely nothing, I wondered if the young girl Jodie was talking to was a figment of her imagination - maybe her younger self? Listen, can't be any madder than some of these Corrie storylines

Just before she said

"I see things others don't"

SabreIsMyFave · 25/02/2026 22:45

I noticed Bethany, and Jodie, and Shona tonight had the shiny sweaty face Korean Glass Skin. 💦

Mal has gone proper nasty.

Jodie is a little minx. Taken Shona's wedding ring now! Shock

Interesting theory about Jodie imagining the little girl.

@nildesparandum Ooooh, I had forgotten about Nina and her designs. That storyline went nowhere!

I wonder who’ll find Jodie’s box of villainous secrets? I mean it’s not particularly that well hidden. My money’s on David the dog.

My bet is on Baby Arrper finding it when she starts crawling!

storageconcern · 26/02/2026 06:16

Thing with the box of trinkets is how did it get to the Platts? Jodie was tied up in undead Graham’s van from Corriedale. She got out and ran off into the night. Where did the box come from and surely someone would have found it under the sofa by now? I suspect when it is found it will be by Bethany or Lilly.

Freysimo · 26/02/2026 07:59

Mal is bound to be found dead now Bernie has screamed "I'll kill you". Then we're on another round of who killed him. Yawn.

AmusedMaker · 26/02/2026 08:21

I vaguely remember a girl psycho killer type character in Emmerdale a few years ago, she actually looked a bit like Jodie and I’m sure she was someone’s sister too. Going back a good few years though.

Shellingbynight · 26/02/2026 08:26

Bernie yelling "I'll kill you" was so daft, it seemed to come out of nowhere and yes of course he will now either be found dead or disappear.

I think Jodie went off somewhere and returned with the box? But I can't remember, it may just have come out of nowhere like Bernie's line!

@AmusedMaker I stopped watching Emmerdale in 2021. The only psycho female killer who was someone's sister I remember is Manpreet's sister, Meena. (She was terrible, she was the main reason I stopped watching!)
