Just watched the decider after being on holiday, Right decision but the Indian guy was very lucky, that impressed with the dishes and late. I was surprised there wasn’t an apology to the critics.

I agree. And I really, really like Matt Tebbutt on Saturday Kitchen (he’s up there with Jay on my foodie crush list). I sense that even he’s not quite sure what his role is.

I felt sorry for Matt when Monica said something like "And how much time have you spent in a pastry section?". He looked and sounded a bit put out, I thought.
He's there taking Gregg’s place but I presume Gregg was supposed to be there as an Everyman, who liked food but could have cheffy things explained to him (and hence explained to the audience).
Matt has training and experience just not as much, I presume, as Marcus and Monica. Maybe it would have been better to have another non-chef.

Yes, I agree with this absolutely. A genuine case of 'too many cooks'!

Joining you all a little late but I feel very validated in my visceral dislike of Philli! It was great to see Gary, though: one of the humblest and most likeable winners. I'm looking forward to seeing who else is invited to set the remaining skills tests. And finally, I'm not sold on Matt but he has one huge thing going for him: he isn't Gregg! 🙌

Hello! I have arrived, sorry for the delay. Olympics paused for the moment so I can fit MCP into my schedule. This title is very promising, I take it we are business as usual, foragers, nannas,beards and odd ingredients.

Because it was dry, sunny and not completely arctic today I went a bit OTT and bought a pomelo and a papaya. I have no idea what to do with them.
