Unless Beryl is going through early menopause (unlikely as the actress is 50 so the character is probably a similar age), I find it hard to believe she didn’t realise her age was against her from the start of this storyline. Menopause doesn’t just happen does it, infertility strikes a while before that.

Well indeed. If she can't have a child then she might as well go back to the order and work and be fed and houses rather than trying to survive earning a wage and renting having spent her adult life in a convent.

Trixie seems to have totally forgotten her husband, and the little boy she is (step)mother to. Why they moved the character NY makes no sense, he should have just been an offscreen husband.

That scan picture was entirely too clear surely!

I had a scan in 1979 and they were a new thing then. They weren't available everywhere in the country but I was at Guy's. The image was nowhere near that clear.
