I am setting up the next thread before i forget.

I can’t work out if giving all the characters their new chapters is the end, or if it’s setting up to return one day. It could be either.

I know there were pictures of everybody there but Barbara was especially lovely to see.

I liked the ghosts of sisters past coming to get Sister MJ.

The man at the end said the prequel is coming later this year.

I've had a good old cry there.

Ah gosh, that was actually quite a lovely ending. Probably because it didn't involve a Turner saving the world 😂

All in for The Other Bennet Sister taking the sunday spot!

The prequel begins Christmas Day.

Not sure when the film or series 16 will be out though.

As well as a Call the Midwife movie, fans will also have season 16 of the BBC period drama to look forward to, along with a Call the Midwife prequel series set during World War Two, which is due to debut this Christmas.

It's like they remembered that they used to have chapel nuns!

Don't understand the Sister Veronica story arc at all (although she did waft around in a kaftan like Margo Ledbetter, even though the Lavender marriage never happened!)

And I'd bloody well pay god money to watch Nurse Crane & Miss Higgins in their new detective agency!

Ohh I think my poor little eyes need a bit of an extra special eye mask right now. 💔😢.

I loved it. Despite being gay I think Geoffrey is actually very very fond of Beryl. I wondered if Beryl was going to recognise Dr Parry at the gay bar place although she might not ever have shared a scene with him at the hospital. I liked Reggie being included as a proper man to carry the coffin. Most of all I loved the Sister Evangelina scene. So pleased they persuaded Pam Ferris back for that.

I cried when sister monica joan died.

I wish some of the other cast had come back for a quick scene .

Heidi Thomas, who is Anglo-Catholi, invited her own actual priest to play the role of priest in the funeral service, so I think he would have taken care of this!

When they were dancing in the club, I said “is that the consultant?”.

I was a midwife,I trained in Aldershot in the Army,ultrasound was normal then 1974.No idea about civilian hospitals.

I myself never had an ultrasound and had 4 pregnancies,2 in the U.K. and 2 in Italy.I was never offered one,my last pregnancy was here in 1982.

I thought it would have been nice if they’d panned round the church at the funeral and Jenny, Chummy, Patsy and all the others (maybe not Cynthia) were there to pay their respects.

@FinnJuhli thought that was a real priest and not an actors there was something about the way he spoke and acted that was completely genuine. I looked for him in the credits to see if it was a real vicar.

Yes, we said that, too. Priest/vicar acting is always too performance-y to be realistic

I hope they announce the prequel cast soon, would love to see who is playing the younger sisters.
