I assume the family will get help to run the ranch. The GoFundMe has received millions of dollars in contributions. One actress has set up a recurring monthly payment for thousands of dollars. Obviously the money cannot replace a lost husband and father. I cannot fathom raising 6 kids amidst all that grief.

I don’t think any tax would be due as long as the money is used for personal or educational purposes which I assume is what the donations are for.

As far as I’m aware, you only pay tax on GoFundMe donations if they are put towards a business.
