I have been watching the snowboard cross seeding runs. Actual races later on :)

With the helmet it was the number of people on it and it covering the helmet and being visible to all other competitors in the competition area. Different to a skier writing their dead nan’s name on a glove and holding their hand up at the end after they had competed although as that is becoming more common I’d happily see that outlawed too. Just do the sport, you can talk about your personal life in interviews afterwards or before. Helmet guy was told he couldn’t compete in the helmet and ignored the officials. That’s like a Tour de France rider being told his helmet is illegal under the rules refusing to change it then complaining when he is kicked out. He chose to ignore the officials. He could have competed in a different helmet and carried that one round to interviews afterwards the event.

Just watching the snowboarding cross which I do enjoy.
Bit disappointed with the British athlete not stood with the others at the end and with a sulky face.
It was a tough race but thats the nature of it and (spoilers) she wasnt taken out from 1st place.

I'm watching the women's skeleton heats, waiting for the men's final runs later.
The GB women's curling is not going well at all. Realistically, the women's team were not really medal contenders, but I'm sure they would hope to get through the round robin stage.

The snowboarding logos on the boards are huge. And one woman at the end of one race was holding hers up quite shamelessly.

A bold choice I thought - but he did really well to finish 6th out of 113 in a Nordic dominated sport.

I don’t know all the rules - do you know why they other team get to sweep the other teams stones - is it when they’ve crossed the line or
something?

Only when the stones are past the line (tee line) that runs horizontally cross the centre of the target circle.

Thank you - if you don’t mind answering and why do they kick them off sometimes and sometimes leave them when they are outside the house? - is it because they’ve hit the edge?

Not at all. If a stone hits the side it is considered out of play and is moved to stop interferring with those still in play.

Does it have to be removed? Like if it hits the side it’s like a foul

I'm completely guessing here but if there wasn't an edge and it was just a line then it could just slide away (to another rink!) and wouldn't get the chance to ricochet back in so it has to be considered dead.

If it hits the side it has to be removed. If it hits the side and then hits another stone then that stone has to be put back in place because stones are out of play as soon as they hit the edge.

We should get one in men’s skeleton this evening. Fingers crossed.

The only game we lost in Feb round robin of the mixed doubles was the one I didn’t watch. Since then it has gone downhill and we’ve lost every game I have watched.
