Missed this - is that why they all look a bit bulky on the shoulders/torso? Are they wearing some sort of inflatable device in case of a crash? DH and i were wondering

The. second woman who fell ( the one who walked away) showed the inflated airbag covering her torso, front and back.

Why is the parallel giant slalom being axed. It was brilliant to watch, got to see it all from beginning to end.

Event riders wear airbags these days too. There’s a bungee cord attached to the saddle - if they fall off it pulls the cord and inflates the bag before they hit the ground.

Yep, I'm lane swimming tomorrow morning too, started last Dec after a 25 year break from it!! Noticed how it doesn't matter what shape or size you are on how well you can swim, a man with a huge stomach got in the pool and was front crawling like a pro, and some who look like 'little old ladies' once they've got goggles on are zooming up and down way faster than me, brillant!

Lindsey Vonn 😢 just watched it. So unlucky to catch the gate, it wasn’t even her knees giving up. The tumble looked awful.

Sports people have a different mentality to mere mortals like me. Their risk vs reward balance is so different.

Vonn looked really unlucky twisting like that after clipping the gate. It was awful listening to her screaming; must have been terrible for those surrounding too

Is anyone watching the speed skating on TNT Sports? Just trying to identify the commentator. He sounds very familiar but I can't place him. Tried Google but none of the listed names match.

Yes for the last few seasons they ski with these air-bag vests that inflate if they hit the ground hard to reduce the risk of spinal events.

They have them in some equestrian events as well as I remember it from someone falling on the cross country course in Paris 2024 and this airbag exploded
