I saw that and did wonder if some of the production team are on these threads as it definitely answers some questions posters had been asking about whether the players get help with wardrobe, hair and make up!

Hi if you are reading! Maybe ask your bosses if you can do an AMA thread on here?!

she formed connections with everyone and that’s why she was never voted or brought up at the round table until there were only 5 left - how on earth could she have done that by just forming connections with two women who went out early on

Yeah she also had Roxy, who was very loyal to her. Am I allowed to say that I found Roxy a bit dim, or is that misogynistic too?

Roxy definitely came across as dim, well maybe naïve... And acted about 10 years younger than she is

There is literally nothing in the editing of Traitors to suggest that Rachel is warm. At this point, I don’t understand why people keep saying this?

Do women have to be warm and maternal to be valid now? She’s a strong, assertive, successful career woman - she is anything but warm. She’s not everyone’s cup of tea. And that is ok, sheesh.

There were quite a few glimpses of her hugging people and offering a quiet words when they were upset. It was only glimpses because her edit was skewed towards showing her strategic sense and her ability to literally talk people into changing their votes. The warmer aspects were easy to miss and I mostly noticed them as I rewatched episodes but they were there. They just got over taken by the drama!

That's really interesting. A lot of the players are obviously very clued up about the impact of your clothing so no wonder people thought there were stylists. I suppose the stylists can't dress the competitors completely, just offer bits because theoretically it could affect the outcome.

I now assume that you won't get on traitors unless you consider game play in every aspect of your time there!

Just came here to post that too. I’m amazed to Rachel didn’t get help with those amazing hair dos!

MrsLargeEmbodied · 25/01/2026 08:44

i can't help if i didnt warm to Rachel - dont call it misogyny - it's not that - the cameras were focusing on her steely eyes
i felt pity for Jade

Sandysandal · 25/01/2026 08:48

There were several shots of Rachel comforting people when they were upset, reminding them it was a game and other wise words. The fact they only started to consider her right at the end shows that they liked her!

Sandysandal · 25/01/2026 08:52

‘Steely eyes’ or just listening hard, observing and concentrating on the game?
it’s so sad that people don’t see calm competence as an admirable quality in women!!

I think it’s so odd to make personality judgements based on people playing the game well! James was sneakier with his shield pinching and out right lying to his fellow faithfuls but he seems to get a free pass.

threesocksmorgan · 25/01/2026 09:00

I think Rachel was just "playing" a part. or edited to look a certain way.
same as James was edited to look childish. when he has ADHD.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 25/01/2026 09:00

why is it sad?
she was absolutely filmed as showing her steely stare. it seemed unnatural

MrsLeonFarrell · 25/01/2026 09:16

The stylist article reminded me of a great reel i saw. The woman on it pointed out that it was obvious Jade wasn't a traitor because she had a new set of nails almost every day and no traitor would have time for that!

You saw ‘steely’ I saw her listening hard and concentrating.
What do you think she should have done with her face?
Smile = people would say ‘smirk’ and = traitor.
Angry = nasty traitor
cry = guilty = traitor (and she did cry a couple of times).
look v sad = guilty, weak.,,
be very animated = character change = traitor .
Be very kind = hypocrite

keeping calm and being competent and playing the game well should be viewed as a positive thing - if she were a man she’d be called ‘composed, focused, strategic, clever, dignified, restrained, emotionally intelligent…,’.

But she gets ‘steely, ruthless…’.

GhostOrchid · 25/01/2026 09:51

I think Rachel just had good confidence and authority from her job which made it easy for her to voice opinions and control and direct conversations. She clearly had a lot of influence with the younger players (cf Faraaz on the last morning and I think Roxy did look up to her as a kind of mother figure after Judy left) and she benefited from being older, but not so much older that she was unrelateable.

BlueLimes · 24/01/2026 22:33

Harry was awful and a lot of people were vocal about that.

Harry yuck just yuck.

I found that series boring and it was the only time.i didn't really want the traitors to win.

It's only obvious because we as viewers know who the traitors are.

In the actual game I wouldn't take that as actual evidence.

I don't think I would find it convincing evidence but it is quite a logical train of thought to have. Like when Stephen Fry said the traitors would be tired and they were.

Yes, and most of the people commenting on her steely ruthlessness and saying they didn't warm to her because of that get called misogynistic.

Yet by the same token, other people are saying they liked her her warm, motherly kindness towards some of the other contestants. Surely by bringing up those attributes, it could be viewed as misogynistic as well, yet nobody has mentioned that.

I can’t help but think if Rachel was the one with the certain option of winning alone, she would’ve gone for it. She only turned super loyal to Stephen after she was in proper danger and really needed him. I think she was very lucky someone like him was in the turret.

I don’t blame him for not trusting her at all - he watched her tell so many lies without flinching.

The way she manipulated Faraz at the end was just so unpleasant to watch…
Stephen won with integrity and her win was only reliant on his generosity.

I would've absolutely loved it if Faz voted Rachel with Jack. That would’ve been great tv.

And I love Claudia and everything she says but had to not look at her during Uncloacked as her fringe was truly hurting my eyes.

I don’t blame him for not trusting her at all - he watched her tell so many lies without flinching.

Do you really not think he was telling just as many lies, and doing so convincingly?

Beachtastic · 25/01/2026 10:47

What made me dislike Rachel was not that she was conniving - that's the whole point of the game. It was her patronising "I'm the only adult here, let me make sense of things for you" approach, which I have encountered in life especially in work situations. It served her well.

PistachioTiramisu · 25/01/2026 10:51

Can anyone answer this question which I have been thinking about for a few days?

After Claudia has chosen the traitors, how does she summon them to take the vow and receive their cloaks without alerting the faithfuls? How do they know where to go? Do you think all the players get a briefing before the selection so they know what they have to do afterwards? And how did Claudia get Fiona on her own to tell her she was the secret traitor?

I don’t know, but I assume production call them into the confessional room or something and tell them there.

All of the contestants will be having confessionals so it wouldn’t stand out.

I imagine they're all driven off at night to return to their hotel but the traitors' cars just turn round and come back to the castle. So it's all done after all the others are away.

Mwnci123 · 25/01/2026 11:28

Gosh, I came here because I wanted to talk about how much I adore Rachel and wrongly assumed others would mostly feel the same. Ah well! Anyway- I AM AWE STRUCK. The first female traitor to win, and the best traitor we've had IMO. I particularly like that she wasn't reliant on stringing along an unreservedly devoted faithful to clinch it. Killing Roxy and trusting that she could turn Faraaz was a bold play and spared us the upset of seeing lovely Roxy crestfallen at the end. Stephen is fab too- they were a great team and wholly deserved the win. Really glad he was so decent in the final votes, as Rachel did so much to get them to the end and it would have been a massive downer to see her cut out (that said, I don't think I could have been so generous!).
