None of that is ‘hatred’ even if you find it uncomplimentary. Other than the one specific comment of ‘cold hearted badly dressed psycho’ which is quite rude.

People hated the way Harry played and thought it was horrible to Mollie. People disliked Fiona and Amanda. People don’t care for Rachel. It is what it is, you can’t force people to like you. She’s clearly very marmite, so I’d find her approach intimidating tbh, but she’s clearly just playing the game.

What did she do?

the difference is she is being held to different standards because she’s a women

on the contrary people loved Harry

also lots of people loved Rachel - all information we have says she’s actually a warm person but lots of women keep piping up she’s cold and calculating with no evidence that stands up in relation to this game and what we saw

Liquoriceallsortsmadear · 24/01/2026 21:56

Ah I just see you find her intimidating

very telling

Because she didn’t cry enough? Because she made well thought out decisions? Becuase she was focused? Popular?

The people she formed the more obvious connections with were closer to her age and were banished earlier - once Amanda and Harriet had gone she was the eldest in there by quite a few years, the younger players were already close with each other and she was more outside the group, with only Stephen she could confide in.

She obviously built relationships with the younger players, but I personally think it was almost as a mother figure (which may be why they trusted her so blindly). Not that she was old enough to actually be their mother but there was a sufficient age gap...

Edited

She’s only 4 years older than James! The difference is that she doesn’t go around acting like a toddler…

you actually don’t know any of that - and it is actually sound alike a load of rubbish - I don’t think anyone saw her as a mother figure - gosh poor women - she’s like Mr Ben changing identity every 5 mins - one minute she is cold, then a mother figure - I think people looked up to her because she was logical and spoke alot more sense - I didn’t see her mothering people once - whatever age I was I would have chosen Harriet and Amanda as friends because they didn’t act like kids and were intelligent rather than saying “I love you I love you”
to people you’ve know less than a week 😂😂 most of the contestants were surprised she was older than them when found out

she formed connections with everyone and that’s why she was never voted or brought up at the round table until there were only 5 left - how on earth could she have done that by just forming connections with two women who went out early on

I found her cold but obvs I only know what I saw - I have no idea what she is like in real life. Maybe it was the FBI training that made her come across like that. it worked for her, so it was money well invested.

Exactly

“I love you bro..but I’m gonna vote for you”

I found it so weird they would say “I love you” before they said they were voting for people

You do you. I did caveat my post by saying it was what I thought (based on what I saw).

BlueLimes · 24/01/2026 22:33

Harry was awful and a lot of people were vocal about that.

OK - she appeared to be the oldest in there by a few years, James appearing to be an excited toddler...

So because James was immature it makes rachel
older…🤔

He seems to be making a career out of being popular..

Yeah she also had Roxy, who was very loyal to her. Am I allowed to say that I found Roxy a bit dim, or is that misogynistic too?

Liquoriceallsortsmadear · 24/01/2026 22:36

No, just makes it seem like more of an age gap between Rachel and the others.

Liquoriceallsortsmadear · 24/01/2026 22:39

Because James was immature..

I don’t think anyone thought rachel
was even past 35

I couldn't stand the US version, only got through one episode. I'm not sure if it carried on but in series 1 the tasks were all the same as UK series 1 making it even more boring.

Well, obviously tastes vary. I find Claudia dull as ditchwater as a host. I would watch (esp season 3 US) for Alan Cummings and his witty presentation, and costumes and his dog in her costumes, alone. The cast includes contestants from US Survivor and Big Brother and other games, and is usually less clueless than the UK cast, and the edit is far slicker for the US series. In the current season 4, the US repeats some of the UK tasks, or vice versa, but does it in a much cleverer and more interesting way.

I just watched the Irish version

it’s like a Tesco value version imv

going to try and persevere

yes me too with Claudia - I find that whole persona just stupid - and some of the clothes 🥴

I can’t stand Alan Cumming’s accent in this (can’t he just use his normal one, as he is actually Scottish so doesn’t need to go to Dick Van Dyke’s accent classes) and don’t like all the pre-existing relationships in the US seasons.

I’m saving the Irish version for binge watching once all episodes are on iPlayer.

It's high camp. I agree, if you prefer a duller cast, host, and edit, stick with the UK series.

I don’t find the UK cast duller; it’s just different.

We all have our own preferences.

There is literally nothing in the editing of Traitors to suggest that Rachel is warm. At this point, I don’t understand why people keep saying this?

Do women have to be warm and maternal to be valid now? She’s a strong, assertive, successful career woman - she is anything but warm. She’s not everyone’s cup of tea. And that is ok, sheesh.

The fact that she connected with everyone - lots of stuff I’ve read says she’s actually warm - I was flagging that up to combat the “cold calculating” descriptions

Liquoriceallsortsmadear · 24/01/2026 23:05

How on earth do you know she is a successful career women? Thats inferred

Diddlydays · 24/01/2026 23:24

So was there anything to the "second envelope" theory in the end? The whose who? Or more hidden connections beyond what was revealed live on the show? They were fun theories

I'm glad the traitors won. They played a hard game

Nothing exciting, it was just the 'hidden relationships' that we the viewers already knew about but the contestants didn't.
