Welcome to Thread 7 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far (as at end of Ep 6):

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz
Reece

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)
Fiona (Traitor)

This thread is starting mid-way through Episode 7, so goodness only knows what is going to happen in the Round Table Showdown that is brewing.

The floor is yours…

She pretty much asked them to.

And I suppose the thing about the round table is that of course they all want to vote out a traitor, but the thing they want more than that is not to be voted out themselves, so if it looks like it’s going badly for someone else they’ll vote for them over voting for who they actually suspect.

murasaki · 15/01/2026 15:01

Particularly when there are fewer of them. Easy to cast aspersions when there are 20, less so when there are 10, it's about self preservation as they can smell the prize money.

I think this is the problem with the format. Most even half sensible people have realised there’s actually very little point in finding a traitor in the early stages so just go with “anyone but them”, hence the groupthink

Flowersforyourchocolateprettyplease · 15/01/2026 15:04

They'll try to murder a shielded player, then the others will just think they recruited.

Matt will be livid at not being recruited and Jade not murdered, so he'll go blabbing.

Except, no one will believe him, because why speak up now.
They'll take it he's the new recruit and get him banished.

He asked for Jessie to be murdered, not Jade.

Yeah, Harriet was done. It was clear that she’d had enough already.

It was probably all that scrabbling about in the freezing river that finished off any desire she had to stay around, to be honest.

Can we stop going on about evidence

there is never ever ever going to be any real evidence in a game of traitors

indeed, Stephen Fry nailed it. Not that anyone listened to him either!

This made me laugh!

Bob confuddling David on that show is one of my great pleasures in life. No matter how many times I've seen it happen.

murasaki · 15/01/2026 15:12

And they're both on the next series of Last One Laughing. David will have a melt down in about 5 minutes.

Ah but if Bob said it, it would almost probably be true.., 😂

Blabbing what? He can't tell them he told the Traitors to murder Jessie and recruit him.

murasaki · 15/01/2026 15:19

He could say an un named person, but I don't think he will as he'd be a goner unless he got a shield if he did. I think there are too many shields.

Fluffypuppy1 · 15/01/2026 15:28

Moonlightdust · 15/01/2026 10:43

Yes this is the impression I got re editing. Harriet seemed to go overboard but I think she was furiously trying to get across her certainty of Rachel being a Traitor and it wasn’t being received. Roxy in my view was far more rude, interrupting her and trying to assert her authority that a collective approach had been decided. She is so far up Rachel’s backside too which is cringeworthy.

Edited

I agree. I think that Rachel is Queen Bee and they all know she’s a traitor. No-one wants to lead in pointing the finger at her as you end up getting banished or murdered. Harriet’s frustration maybe was because they’re all technically not playing the game and trying to find and banish the traitors. Harriet also wouldn’t be able to say anything about that on Uncloaked as it would be a bit of a spoiler.

Umbilicat · 15/01/2026 15:29

I think the abundance of shields is a good thing, it might actually lead to some clues being dropped - NOT that this lot, FBI trained/detective/psychologist whatever would pick up on any of them

stillnoideawhatimdoing · 15/01/2026 15:29

@NewYearNewYouKitten this is my opinion on what happens every time, it feels like it's either non-white people or the older people who go first, with the odd random curveball thrown in. Haven't ever actual sat down and made notes to back it up though

Umbilicat · 15/01/2026 15:30

And agree that Rachel is queen bee, genuinely popular in the way Wilf was in S1, but they also are hiding suspicions because it's too dangerous to voice them

helplessbanana · 15/01/2026 15:30

BareCarpet · 15/01/2026 11:15

When Fiona was interviewed, she said she hadn't even considered the Ben thing. So it was just a happy coincidence. She seems to be full of shit so it may be nonsense.

I sometimes wonder if the game was thrown when Fiona threw her grenade, and the series has been scripted thereafter. Perhaps not though. We've just watched celebrity Traitors it was a little more fun. The players were just as inept though. I have concluded it's just a shit game. At least the secret traitor thing had the audience guessing. Which gave us something to do. Players that drill/interview other players or throw grenades might get some insights. The Harriet thing was just a complete washout in the end. And the mini-games are about as much fun to watch as paint drying. Think about it, Celia's fart was the most entertaining thing about the last series.

Perhaps the way to fix it would be to have two traitors teams. One secret from the viewers.

Edited

I did wonder the other day whether in another series, they might have two sets of traitors, and neither lot knows about the other.😂

That’s a very generous view of the current contestants..I’m sure a couple of them do ‘know’ (Sam, Ellie) but ..

Any notes would support that view. Same with Strictly.

crossedlines · 15/01/2026 15:39

Ultimately, as Stephen Fry pointed out in Celebrity traitors, it really is just a guessing game. Unless anyone actually makes mistakes or really ludicrous decisions, there’s no actual evidence to go on, just hunches. It comes down to personalities… whether a contestant is able to generate any kind of following from others, and can then capitalise on the groupthink.

but ultimately it’s just a game (we used to play it as Werewolf back in the day at university) and there’s rarely any real evidence to go on.

murasaki · 15/01/2026 15:39

peacefulpeach · 15/01/2026 15:36

Yes. The only difference with this is that it's not the general public voting. But it is a microcosm of that. Ethnic minority contestants and older ones get voted out first in the main. Faraaz is getting a pass by being of the right age, lovely, and flying under the radar. Roxy, who knows, probably kept in on age. When you see it, you keep seeing it.

stillnoideawhatimdoing · 15/01/2026 15:41

Still catching up, page 19...goodness these threads fill fast!

@RubieChewsDay @SwedishEdith @MrsLeonFarrell they opened the second envelope once (or twice?!) on uncloaked and it just said about the secret relationships so I just presumed it was always that.

@Maggiethecat to be fair Roxy did say about it being traitor on traitor, she just chose Harriet and Fiona instead of Rachel and Fiona. H also called it, but not to the rest of the group!

yorkshiretoffee · 15/01/2026 15:42

I mean, if they banish a traitor, another is recruited and you have to start looking again. So if you are fairly confident it's Rachel, I'd just wait it out until you are down to the last three.
There would need to be some personal reward for voting out a traitor - maybe everyone who votes for one who gets banished, gets a shield that night.

Speaking of shields, the ridiculous number of shields and the early murder shortlists has made it impossible for the traitors to murder who they want to murder. I am sure there are some people who've never been up for murder.
I'm enjoying each episode but I wonder how I will feel about the whole thing when it's over. It's been quite weird.
And apart for the re-enaction of the paintings, the tasks have been beyond dull.

MissisBee · 15/01/2026 15:49

It's taken me all day to catch up on this thread, lol!
Harriet got quite a dunking in the river during the mission, not surprised she just wanted out after that, I would!
I actually think Rachel will stick to her pledge with Stephen about not voting each other out, but he doesn't trust her at all and will throw her under the bus at some point.
Rachel does seem like a bit of a scary person but I really like her gameplay and I'm finding myself rooting for her.
