Welcome to Thread 7 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far (as at end of Ep 6):

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz
Reece

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)
Fiona (Traitor)

This thread is starting mid-way through Episode 7, so goodness only knows what is going to happen in the Round Table Showdown that is brewing.

The floor is yours…

I'm another one who thinks something must have happened to rattle Harriet like that before she went into the chapel. I suspect it involved Roxy who might have started telling people that she had offered her the chance to ask questions. I suspect it also involved Rachel as there was real anger and I don't think Harriet is a naturally angry person. I also suspect that her "evidence" at the round table was heavily edited, maybe to keep a spoiler for something in the future out?

I may be projecting as she really tunes with me as someone else who had to give up a hard earned career as it just wasn't compatible with children. She obviously found that traumatic as she mentions in interviews that she felt a failure until her first book was published.

Having said that she was almost certainly only in there for the experience/profile for her writing. Her husband earns millions so the money would just be a "nice to donate".

Ellie is an interesting one - I think she is playing a game and doing it well. She is very calm and composed and I think keeping her cards close to her chest. Her PhD was on neurodiversity in the performing arts so I did wonder if she was related to one of the others who may well be ND and went in to keep an eye on them as much as to compete. It would be interesting if she was connected to more than Ross.

dayswithaY · 15/01/2026 15:52

I agree with lots on here, something’s gone down at the castle as some people seem to have a simmering resentment towards Rachel. Harriet was cool and controlled until suddenly she wasn’t. Same as Fiona.

I just don’t think you get that angry unless something has really rattled you, it seemed personal.

Rachel has definite mean girl vibes, I can imagine if you joined her office she would be frosty and condescending. Her face reminds me of a goose in earrings.

Bless Stephen but she will keep him close then dump him at the firepit to claim all the money.

Re the breakfast scene and Harriet losing it with Roxy...

Roxy was one of the Mirror Five and was in to breakfast first. She announced that they would wait until they were all there, and then describe what happened. She was very determined that she wanted it to be done that way. Thing is, she wasn't one of the Smoke and Mirrors Three, was she? Surely it should have been up to the three of them to decide how to play it, not the two who weren't.

She was then annoyed when Harriet came in and wanted to speak straight away. Roxy probably wanted to tell everybody that Harriet had offered her the chance to ask the questions and she'd turned it down, therefore Harriet could not be trusted because surely 'only a traitor would do that'. Her considerable assertiveness completely threw Harriet, who was on the back foot from then on.

Harriet would have been absolutely livid that someone had sabotaged her like that.

LittleBitofBread · 15/01/2026 14:11

Did she really think she'd be able to 'speak' properly to the traitors, though? Surely no one would assume that? The gig would be up immediately.

I thought they might use voice distorters and I've seen other people online say the same! It would've been funny to see them actually answer.

I think the same about Roxy, the way she was taking over trying to lead the conversation about he mirror challenge at breakfast, talking like she was one of the people asking questions to the faithfuls (“WE are going to have a quick chat before revealing anything” it wasn’t to do with you!) was jarring. Think she has main character syndrome.

Edited

I agree. She likes to project herself as being fair and diplomatic and all, but I find her really condescending and bossy.

Yes she strikes me one of those ‘I say what I mean’ ‘ take me as you find me’ types. Which basically means they are rude/bossy.

She wanted things to be done her way and was rather bolshy in her attempts to prevent Harriet from talking.

Although her manner is the opposite of that brash sort of 'straight-talking person'; it's all 'If you don't mind' and 'is it OK if I say that?'. Like the mirror challenge where she suggested she was the most likeable but then immediately backed off with something like 'I'm not being conceited' and 'I hope that's OK to say, guys.'
Pass-agg.

Especially when she hasn’t said hardly a thing before. To be waltzing in to the kitchen confronting Harriet after as well, really odd. She has made herself look like a traitor though, changes in personality never go down well.

Yes, and all in the guise of helping other people: 'Harriet, Rachel is trying to speak' etc.

That’s a good point, I think it makes her less likeable too!

BlueLimes · 15/01/2026 16:23

It was quite a reaction, agree think something happened with Rachel.

Roxy was also annoyed when she stormed in the kitchen (Judy did the same). Quite aggressive

Bob confuddling David on that show is one of my great pleasures in life. No matter how many times I've seen it happen.

I often liken the failure of the players to get an obvious Traitor out to David ranting about being confused by Bob - “of course it’s not true! But it’s Bob, so it must be true!”

We’re going to run out of thread before tonight so I’ve got one on standby. I’ll see how this one is looking but I’ve got pop out in half an hour to collect DD so depending on how fast you lot talk will either do it before I go or when I get back around 5.45!

I’d suggest putting it up before you go, given how fast this thread seems to be moving!

I’m impressed with your organisation 💐

PuppyMonkey · 15/01/2026 16:30

So, apologies if the thread already covered this, it’s so bloody fast moving, but the outcome of the murder/failed attempt is going to provide some great clues and/or red herrings.

They successfully murder - everyone is going to say there must have been a traitor in that group and that’s how they knew who to murder.

They fail to murder because the person they chose was protected by a shield - everyone is going to say that group can’t possibly have had a traitor in it and that’s why they made the mistake.

OMG it’s going to be SO INTERESTING. Grin

butimamonstersaidthemonster · 15/01/2026 16:39

Sorry if this has been asked. Can’t keep up.
if someone eg Jessie is murdered does she know that she was murdered and is she allowed to tell everyone at breakfast or will it be left as an unknown so they may think recruitment? Ok

She’s been murdered. Dead. Gone. Never to be seen again!

Umbilicat · 15/01/2026 16:43

Jessie will know they tried to murder her, but couldn't because she has a shield

It is up to her whether she shares this with the group.

PuppyMonkey · 15/01/2026 16:44

But if they try to murder her and fail because she’s got a shield…? Will she know? I’m not sure!

Allthatwegotisthispalebluedot · 15/01/2026 16:52

There’s never going to be ‘hard evidence’ of someone being a traitor, but there can be more than whatever the fuck Harriet brought to the confessional box, the breakfast table, and the round table in yesterday’s episode. It basically looked like she was just furious that the others didn’t immediately acquiesce to her superior traitor hunting which was basically a gut feeling. Even the interchangeable simpletons are bright enough to say things like ‘I’m sorry, it’s just a gut feeling I have - I’m voting for yourself’. Harriet was an arrogant melt.

Traitorsyay · 15/01/2026 16:55

I can't keep up with this thread!
I've concluded I've spent far too long musing over the traitors. I've decided the production couldn't win either way, if they'd left the usual format people would complain of boredom, I think last year on this thread there was many posts saying how slow and predictable the series was. If they change it up (like they've chose) they risk people disliking/picking faults. The problem is possibly with the changes they've made and how it's been edited, it's given too much structure. The traitors have not really had any choices or decisions. The confessional was useless, and if it was scripted or set up in any way then it was unfair.
I wonder if they went for the secret traitor to add tension within the traitors, to hinder their advantage. I think it would have been better to have added more traitors, possibly 5, although there's maybe not enough space for 5 in the turret.
I always think whoever has worked the hardest deserves to win, I guess at this point in time that is still Rachel and Stephen, but they need to win together or not at all
