Welcome to Thread 6 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz
Reece

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)
Fiona (Traitor)

No murder cliffhanger after episode 6, but Matthew (aka Interchangeable Male #3) has taken an interesting approach. We wait to see what cunning questions Harriet can come up with.

The floor is yours…

This time it’s personal! Traitors 2026 | Thread 5 | Spoiler Free! | Mumsnet

Richard and Marina have a lot to say about Traitors and their opinion of Fiona.
It’s the last 3rd so fast forward if you don’t want the rest of it.

That was interesting. Thank you .
I enjoyed hearing them backing up everything most of us have thought and said about Fiona.
And I laughed when RO described our 'interchangeables' as a "large blob of 30 year old men" 😆
Off to check out Harriet's books now.

WonderfulSmith · 13/01/2026 18:34

Oh and Richard and Marina have noticed the second parchment on uncloaked, also they wondered who Matthew was and why he was dressed like Eoin McLove…..

waves at Richard and Marina

Glad Richard and Martina haven't fallen for Fiona's revisionist press tour. Interesting that they believe the connections theory. I'd lost focus on that because the rest is so fascinating.

Yep agree with this!
That is what prompted it.

Agree with this too. As I’ve said before, Fiona had no reason to announce Fiona not believing her other than being angry and deciding to throw her under the bus, perhaps earlier than she originally intended.
I started to dislike Fiona over the last couple of episodes but am not keen on Rachel either.

ANutAsBigAsABoulder · 13/01/2026 21:45

“When Fiona departed, it was interesting to hear people say ‘what a woman, what an amazing woman’. Were they watching a different Fiona to me? I did not experience her as a wonderful person. My commiserations to whatever Welsh local government office, because that’s a colleague and a half.” 😆

Marina Hyde absolutely nails it. The whole dissection of it all is spot on from her and RO.

I honestly don’t understand how Fiona got such a smooth ride on Uncloaked.

Because it’s just a game - you know entertainment? Are people getting a little carried away with the Fiona hate?

I’ve never listened to this before, but that was really good! Wouldn’t Richard Osman be great on the celebrity version?

One thing that they don’t seem to have considered, though - perhaps Harriet’s book launch hasn’t been moved because she doesn’t get anywhere near the end of the show? Perhaps she gets murdered in the next episode and that’s the end of it? We don’t know whether she’s fooling Rachel!

I get the impression she was throwing herself into the game playing with gusto and delighting in being a bit wicked.

It sounds like she was held in affection by a lot of the other contestants, we only see an edited version.

I think there was real friction in the moment between her and Rachel and there’s certainly some revisionist history in her retelling, but I think the Fiona hate is a bit OTT.

‘Rachel had no reason to announce….’

ScaredOfFlying · 13/01/2026 23:55

Do we know what Harriet is telling people about what she does for a living?

Also, are they banned from revealing surnames (or allowed to make them up) because surely there is a risk that one of the others will have read one of Harriet books and could out her if she’s concealing that she’s a writer?

I agree; she was enjoying herself and playing with relish. People are being quite vicious about her on here. I for one am willing to take her fellow contestants’ word for what she’s like, and many of them seemed to feel very warmly towards her.

Also agree. It's a game. Much prefer Fiona to any of the wet wipes who cry over anything.

MrsLeonFarrell · 13/01/2026 13:21

I agree. The power also went to Fiona's head and she stopped hiding who she was.

I think that's right. It was just such an extraordinary reaction to the fact that Amanda chose to confide in Rachel and not her, which is hardly a big deal given that everyone knew they were friends. So I think the explanation must be that in her head she was lead traitor; therefore she was furious that the information hadn't come to her first, and furious at Rachel seizing an initiative without clearing it with her.

Yes she mistook "secret traitor" for "head traitor" and was full of self importance.
When she was united with the other traitors, one of the first things she said was "I've been doing your job for you". The looks between Rachel and Stephen were quite telling.

Hoolahoophop · 14/01/2026 09:25

Morning, I am late to the show and late to the series, finally caught up now and hoping to join you all.

I liked Fiona, I thought she was hilarious, the wicked glee with which she made decisions. But definitely the power went to her head and caused her downfall.

Not keen on Rachel - she's playing the game very well, but too clinically for me. Stephen is a bit of a wet blanket.

I have no idea who all the men are, except Reece who I would have like to have stayed in longer. Roxy seems nice keen, but clueless and easily led.

I think Jessie's days are numbered. Though she had one plan for attack and went for it. Now that is solved I am not sure what she will cling on to next. I suspect that there may be more to come from Ellie. Harriet is good.

I'd love to see better debating skills. The round table is accusation and move on, no decent defense, not debate.

I thought Marina Hyde (that's 51 year old Marina Hyde) was particularly savage about Fiona, calling her the representation of boomerism. And then, lest we didn't get it, she had to qualify the boomer reference - "given every single advantage, squandered it all and ruined it for everyone coming after."
Yes. That is the definition of that insult. Thank you for clarifying that, Marina.

claudiaswinklemen · 14/01/2026 11:29

I did not warm to Fiona and in the end I was willing her off our screens but I also thought Marina was quite caustic in her condemnation. (She typically is though, especially compared to Richard’s Mr Nice Guy).

MrsLeonFarrell · 14/01/2026 11:32

I don't hate Fiona, but I don't see any evidence that she is the nice fluffy lady she is trying to portray, even on Uncloaked. When someone lets power go to their head and throws their toys out of the pram in such a spectacular fashion the better move would be to admit you got too into the game and got carried away. Someone who admits they lie to make better stories just hasn't got credibility when they try to take back what we have clearly seen on camera.

I suspect fellow players are being nice about her because criticising her isn't a sensible move for them. Marina doesn't need to worry about that.

I heard that through the grapevine tbh but haven't verified it. Knowing who told me it might be a daily fail article in which case copious salt is recommended.

I’m just imagining walking into your new counsellor’s consulting room and being faced with Fiona - I do hope its not true!

Marina Hyde can be a very funny writer, the type who actually makes you laugh out loud when reading.

However she has never been remotely a friend of the sisterhood and has happily joined pile ons of women, whilst hypocritically criticising others in the pile on as if it were nothing to do with her. Her hypocrisy over the Britney Spears coverage really took the biscuit.

51 is Gen X, not boomers.

She didn’t say anything that hasn’t been said on here already. There is far more vitriol on here than there was on the podcast.

I think I have never disliked a contestant as much as Fiona. She reminds me of an awful woman who bullied me a few years ago at work. So fake, so unnecessarily unpleasant.

I like Rachel - think she is doing a great job as a Traitor... The task has great opportunities to feed misinformation to the others - can't wait to see what they do with it

Harriet to win!

Agree! She triggered alot of trauma in me and reminded me of my mother in law! So glad she is out! Im really impressed with Rachel but think Harriet will bring her down.
