Welcome to Thread 6 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz
Reece

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)
Fiona (Traitor)

No murder cliffhanger after episode 6, but Matthew (aka Interchangeable Male #3) has taken an interesting approach. We wait to see what cunning questions Harriet can come up with.

The floor is yours…

This time it’s personal! Traitors 2026 | Thread 5 | Spoiler Free! | Mumsnet

I have wondered if some of the ones who seem to follow Rachel around and sit with her are also playing the "keep close to a traitor" game. So covert that they're not even discussing it out loud.

Amanda was on local TV tonight. She came over well and was fully aware of how she must have looked during the game - useless at spotting traitors. She did also reveal that the contestants are given quite a thorough health check before going on there (as some test results revealed a medical condition that she wouldn't have realised she had). Hence, 'Being on the Traitors saved my life' headlines.

LighthouseLED · 12/01/2026 21:38

Interestingly, one of the articles about her health condition also says she is originally from Bolton. For anyone who may still be trying to make connections!

I’ve read somewhere that there can be between 3 and 5 traitors chosen, not sure how true that is.

There were 4 in season 2.

3 that Claudia picked and then they had to pick a 4th.

I think there were also 4 in the most recent US one with Boston Rob.

FourNaanJeremy · 12/01/2026 21:54

lettingthedaysgoby · 12/01/2026 20:46

I dont think they are told, or it is any sort of 'rule', but there have been three chosen in each series until this one. (I think it's an odd number so if a murder goes to a vote it's not a split decision, and more than 3 would be unmanagable as a group)

There were 4 traitors from the beginning In series 2. Claudia picked 3 at the round table and their first turret meeting that evening was to choose a 4th to join them.

I think most faithfuls assume there at least 3, possibly 4

The problem with clever questions is that on no series of Traitors have more than 2 of the faithful shown the sort of logical thought processes that would make asking those sorts of questions a wise move. Anyone asking clever stuff is far more likely to be banished by faithfuls who believe being too loud/quiet or asking too many/few questions is evidence of being a Traitor.

Plus they don't have to tell the truth in their answers. I honestly can't really see the point of it, except for dramatic purposes.

It's put a target on Matthew's back, when I think he was flying under the radar. A situation where both traitors and faithful can make mistakes.

I’m intrigued as to whether Rachel is having her hair styled for her or doing it herself. Some of her updos have been really intricate and she carries them off so well, would be interesting to know if they were a feature of her look nefire the show.

But I also find it hilarious that all the rest of them are in cosy jumpers and long sleeves while she is in vest tops and once even a totally strapless one! It’s like she packed for Love Island by mistake!

(Being from NI, she’d hardly be under any misconceptions about the Scottish weather!)

Edited

This is me!(Not the fab hairstyles unfortunately)
I am forever hot and I simply dont like the feeling of sleeves and being covered up..i wear vest tops all year round, obviously if going out I put a coat on.
The other day I was in a cafe and had taken my coat off(wearing a vest top) and I overheard a elderly man say to his wife-"i feel very overdressed" hahaha I just knew he meant me.
I do sometimes wonder what people think and I have had comments before about making people feel cold etc.
Maybe Rachel is just the same

I don't think this happened. Ash the woman traitor was banished almost straightaway, and the 2 men Paul and Harry recruited Miles.
So no 4 Traitors to start with. I think this is the first series to have 4.

I think it’s to mess with the contestants’ heads, basically. It doesn’t take much to send the Faithfuls off after red herrings, and something like this will stir the pot hugely and lead to loads of (they’re hoping) entertaining ripples for the audience.

I agree in terms of advantage/disadvantage isn’t neither here or there.

I was just listening to the Rest is Entertainment podcast and Marina Hyde suggested asking "who should I go after at the next round table?" which isn't a bad one as there's no way they're going to bluff and name themselves so you'd be pretty confident you've eliminated a faithful.

It was literally the end of the first episode they decided who to recruit as the 4th traitor.
Ash wasn’t banished until at least episode 3 or 4.

Agreed! Plus being from NI, she’ll be used to the cold, so she’s fine.

I think you’re thinking of an international season. I couldn’t remember this happening either in a UK version so looked up who the traitors were in season 2 and only Ash, Paul and Harry were there from the start. There were 6 traitors in total that year but none were recruited in episode 1.

stillnoideawhatimdoing · 13/01/2026 11:19

@FourNaanJeremy is right @CharlotteRumpling and @RainbowSnake , just went back and watched it! Claudia gets the 3 (Ash, Paul and Harry) to say their traitors oath and says 'then I'll need the name of the faithful you would like to enlist, and then the beginning of episode 2 is introducing Miles as the 4th Traitor.

Side note, I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed Pauls evil chuckle!!

oh is that so? I stand corrected then.

I loved Paul!

Pinkbox · 13/01/2026 11:40

So Fiona appears to have been all over TV and radio, pretending she's a functioning human 😉

I saw her saying she had to tell everyone in the kitchen that she thought Rachel was a traitor because Rachel had opened it up already. That's not how it came across to me!

However I know I'm now biased against her because of that crazy rampage she went on and then all the fibbing and Tena lady stuff on Uncloaked.

I only remember because I watched it again with DS when he decided he was interested and wanted to watch it.

Series 2 was the best one IMO. Wasn’t a fan of the cast on series 3 especially the ones who ended up winning. I wasn’t into the Seer twist either - it meddled too much with the game

ilovebrie8 · 13/01/2026 11:49

Fiona was on This Morning yesterday.

She said that she had seen Rachel not defend Stephen on a few occasions so thought that Rachel was not a team player.

She said that they Rachel and Stephen had both had time to bond and that she felt that she would be thrown under the bus at some point by them so took her chances doing what she did...they didn't have her back basically as they were already a two-some more or less.

Fiona is working hard to retcon her time in the castle and make herself look better. She'd be better not saying anything

Claudia made that comment to Harry and Andrew when they decided to recruit Ross.
