Welcome to Thread 6 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz
Reece

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)
Fiona (Traitor)

No murder cliffhanger after episode 6, but Matthew (aka Interchangeable Male #3) has taken an interesting approach. We wait to see what cunning questions Harriet can come up with.

The floor is yours…

This time it’s personal! Traitors 2026 | Thread 5 | Spoiler Free! | Mumsnet

Yeah but it’s still information for yourself

but yes I here you about convincing the others

yes it’s completely like real life - someone gets a bee in their bonnet and then convinces those around them - maybe they cousold do that

The pack mentality never ceases to amaze me. The faithful wander around discussing "Fred" (made up) as a definite traitor, then at the RT someone says "Jasmine once said the word newt and only a traitor would do that" and Jasmine gets voted out, and no surprise, she's a faithful. Time after time this happens - grrr.

I wondered about the handwriting - it’s a give away - you could memorise it or just one letter that’s distinctive

Gets even more Line of Duty then as well 😄

😂😂😂👏👏👏

So true, they are swayed so easily. Herd mentality!

We do only see a tiny bit of what is discussed though (either at the round table or more generally) so some of the decisions which seem to come out of nowhere are probably not as unexpected as they seem.

I also think the faithful have a strong incentive to both follow the herd and sometimes not to reveal their full hand.

So Jasmine said “newt” but she was also spotted wearing a traitor cloak alongside Fred and Kevin - it’s better tactics to focus on newts than cloaks!

Dunno about Matthew seeming the cleverest (sorry Matthew)

Yh you're right actually!

I have worked with one person who reminded me of Fiona. That was enough for a whole lifetime!

Yep, my 'Fiona' is called Angela!

Mine was Linda - not the one from the last series though!

ChinFluff46 · 12/01/2026 18:30

I'm imagining Harriet doing the best takedown of Rachel at the RT. That would be epic. Not Stephen, too obvious now. Getting everyone behind it (nothing against Rachel, she's playing a blinder), it would be epic TV.

BeaLola · 12/01/2026 18:35

I'm amazed Reece said nothing about Stephen/Rachel at the family tree, but even if he had would anyone have listened ? Eg Stephen said about Max and Roxy being last there and kept pushing Max but nothing was said afterwards anout Roxy, of course there's so much edited out

The only thing I wondered was why on Uncloaked they didn't ask Reeve about it ?

Of course a far fetched idea is that Reece didn't want to mention it as he is somehow connected to either Stephen or Rachel.

EachandEveryone · 12/01/2026 19:06

My mum is confusing the life out of me. She says they are up
to date but doesn’t know that Fiona has gone. She is watching on the iplayer are they three episodes behind? She’s not young and I’m worried that she will tune in with us Wednesday and wonder what’s going on. There are six episodes available on the iplayer

ZappyDays · 12/01/2026 19:18

I don’t know why Harriet is keeping quiet about her theory on Rachel being a traitor. What can be the harm in going for it? She won’t get murdered because that would be too obviously Rachel. Is the reason she’s keeping her suspicions under wraps because everyone, including her, likes having Rachel around and if she goes they’ll only recruit another traitor to replace her?

@EachandEveryone i think Fiona went out in episode 6 so they need to watch episode 6. Unless they’re getting the names mixed up and think Fiona is someone else? I was talking to my mum about it at the weekend and she had no idea who I was talking about even though she’s watching it. It’s a lot of names to get your head around!

Fiona left in episode 6, so your mum has definitely not watched all the episodes on iPlayer!

EachandEveryone · 12/01/2026 19:26

Where’s the rest of them?

All six episodes are showing on iplayer for me. Do they need to scroll down the page a bit further maybe?

I've wondered why Harriet hasn't shared her suspicions about Rachel being a traitor with the others. I think it might be that Rachel doesn't suspect anything so won't murder Harriet and so Harriet hopes to advance to the final and then reveal her hand then. If Rachel were to be banished by Harriet's questioning, then Stephen and the newly recruited traitor would probably murder her as then she will have successfully eliminated two traitors.

Harriet has specifically said she’s playing the key your friends close but you enemies closer game. Which is the way people have won in the past – they were usually been doing it inadvertently by just happened to be chums with one of the traitors - it’s definitely what kept the none too bright finalist faithfuls in in season one and season two. If Rachel likes Harriet and Harriet doesn’t seem suspicious of her then she won’t murder her.l and H can play her hand right at the end.

I would keep my cards close to my chest

I think Harriet is playing wait and see

Id do that too - she probably realises all the opinions are so random - it’s a Pot luck

Yeah, I've always wondered if they actually know that ie is it in the rules of the game as set out to them at the start? Or do they just assume there's always the same number?

I dont think they are told, or it is any sort of 'rule', but there have been three chosen in each series until this one. (I think it's an odd number so if a murder goes to a vote it's not a split decision, and more than 3 would be unmanagable as a group)

I thought that at first but 1) Stephen spoke about Maz and Roxy being at the family tree 5 mins before the chimes went off which might have made Reece think anything earlier than that wasn’t suspicious as both Maz and Roxy confirmed there were no prints on the tree at that point and 2) it seems like it might not be that unusual for people to ask for private chats judging by Faraaz’s non-reaction to Amanda asking him to leave so she could speak with Rachel. If it happens regularly then I can see why he wouldn’t necessarily remember it.

Yes, she said that’s her strategy. I think she wants to win, but as a faithful; I don’t think she’ll ask the traitors to recruit her like Matthew has.
Rachel is pretty astute, but if Harriet can avoid arousing her suspicions she might well pull it off.

RainbowSnake · 12/01/2026 21:18

Staying close to a traitor as a faithful is a tricky one to balance. Obviously you can’t actually be certain that the person you suspect is definitely a traitor and there have been traitors that murder their allies to look more faithful anyway so it’s not a guaranteed ticket to the final. You’ve also got to then turn everyone on that traitor and if you haven’t raised suspicions about them before I think it could backfire and make people think it’s traitor on traitor instead if they feel it’s come from nowhere.

Finalist faithful in past series tend to be either quite trusting/naive/not influential so the traitors don’t see them as a threat (likes of Mollie, Hannah, and Meryl), ones who haven’t been murdered because they’ve been loudly suspicious of a traitor and murdering them could backfire on the traitor (likes Jaz and Jake) or ones who have had suspicion on them previously who might be sacrificial lambs at the final (also Jaz, Alexander, and Leanne). Harriet doesn’t fit into any of those types so I’m not sure that keeping Rachel close will necessarily be enough to get her to the final.

I’ve read somewhere that there can be between 3 and 5 traitors chosen, not sure how true that is.
