Welcome to Thread 6 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz
Reece

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)
Fiona (Traitor)

No murder cliffhanger after episode 6, but Matthew (aka Interchangeable Male #3) has taken an interesting approach. We wait to see what cunning questions Harriet can come up with.

The floor is yours…

This time it’s personal! Traitors 2026 | Thread 5 | Spoiler Free! | Mumsnet

If anyone is on Instagram, have a look at the account Brett’s.thoughts. About 5th most recent post.

He suggests clever questions that could be asked by Harriet e.g ask who the traitors are. It doesn’t even matter what they say really but e.g. if they don’t say Rachel, Harriet can lie at breakfast and say that they said her name and then her reaction might be quite telling. Also if Rachel then goes for Harriet it makes her look guilty as she’s the only one who knows that Harriet told them a lie.

Think he also said she could share a few facts about herself to the traitors before the questions e.g that she’s amazing at tennis. And then one of the traitors may slip up in conversation to show they know she likes tennis, but they’d only have known that if they were an actual traitor. He has a lot more ideas too - worth a watch.

Edited

Be interested to watch, but which Brett on instagram? Looking at Ivan Brett from season one his last posts are from 2024/5.

They wouldn't necessarily want to 'protect' their own identity by saying the opposite sex; there's still enough people that, whatever they said, it wouldn't narrow it down helpfully enough. They could of course say there was only one traitor, or three maybe.
This is my perennial question, actually: do the faithfuls know how many traitors there are, or at least how many there were to start with? And do they always the same number? (and again do the faithfuls know this)?

Normally, there are three at the start - they will (almost certainly) know this. But this time there were four, with the ST, so if I were a Faithful I'd be confused as recruitments are announced (or have been) as there is no murder. With two gone, I would suspect there to be only one left - or the traitors would be recruiting at the same time as the confessional...

Yeah, I've always wondered if they actually know that ie is it in the rules of the game as set out to them at the start? Or do they just assume there's always the same number?

His account name is just Brett’s.thoughts so if you type that in it should be first in the search results. I’ll try to add a screenshot too

The problem with clever questions is that on no series of Traitors have more than 2 of the faithful shown the sort of logical thought processes that would make asking those sorts of questions a wise move. Anyone asking clever stuff is far more likely to be banished by faithfuls who believe being too loud/quiet or asking too many/few questions is evidence of being a Traitor.

I’d have thought the bigger risk for Harriet would be murder rather than banishment (given how she successfully went for Hugo). She’s very cannily playing a careful game now but if I were the traitors I would want to be rid of her.

They haven’t yet had the chance, have they? I don’t think she’s been on any shortlists

Meh! I can't get excited over the questions drama - I think it was a bit of a shit idea from the producers. I don't see the point - the traitors can lie, their answer will contain as few words as possible and the way it's set up they can't be challenged.

Oh I think it was quite clever! It gave them quite a few possibilities for a cliff-hanger episode ending and a good discussion point for the long gap between episodes.

KittyHigham · 12/01/2026 08:28

Yes 32 and 35 😆

It's ok - no need for concern. I don't really think they are father and son 😄😐. It was just in relation chicken/jumper comments that have been made - (thought the post i quoted showed that!!)

As you were.

PistachioTiramisu · 12/01/2026 09:56

Did anyone notice that Matt burned the document answering his question? Surely it would have made sense to keep it and compare the writing when Harriet gets her document? Then when Rachel 'asks' her question, obviously the handwriting will be Stephen's so would be different, which might alert Matt and Harriet to the likelihood that Rachel is a traitor?? He missed a trick there!

Well I presume the producer is there going ‘now you have to burn it’ - part of the deal isn’t it.

Does anyone else think that’s Rachel’s looks like Samantha Cameron? That’s all I see and I find it a bit disconcerting.

I think she looks a bit like Princess Anne from some angles, especially when her hair is up.

From outside the game definitely but we've seen so many times faithful make really odd decisions i can see them turning on Harriet.

yes he would have been told he had to burn any evidence otherwise there’s not much point in there only being a select few people that were going to talk directly to the traitors. He is now responsible for choosing whether or not to share the questions he asked and answers from the traitors and also whether or not to tell his fellow players the truth and then to see whether they believe him.
in the same way that Frankie had to burn the evidence last year confirming Charlotte was a traitor. It’s all about the way people can spin what they’ve seen written down.

TheFifthTellytubby · 12/01/2026 12:57

Am I right in thinking that last year's "seer" task required the person selected to answer truthfully? That player turned out to be a recruited traitor rather than a fellow faithful, and it all ended up being a bit emotional and toxic IIRC. When Claudia talks about "an amazing power", it's rarely an advantage. Maybe this time it would have been better if the traitors had been forced to answer (e.g.) one out of two or three yes/no questions truthfully. Or something like that...

I think they did have to be truthful, yes. It did turn out to be uncomfortable and unpleasant, just two women yelling character accusations at one another really. Maybe they think that doing it so the people chosen don't actually find out who the traitors are will avoid that happening this time.
I'm not so bothered about the traitors answering the questions truthfully. I think whatever they say there will be some genuine insights to be made – and a lot of speculation and wild guessing to be done!

The Fiona situation has been quite enlightening for me. Without being too outing to avoid having to NC. I work in a local government compliance type role (no, I'm not a senior detective 🤣)

I interact with people like Fiona, oddly often older women (of which I am one so no ageism from me) and they do recreate reality and point-blank lie about what they have/ haven't done and I then find myself having to point that out at which point they kick off, claim outrage at being challenged, I'm then treated as a baddie!

Watching that play out with Fiona/Rachel was really interesting and then seeing her on Uncloacked.

Edited

I work with men like this too - usually the types who refuse to put anything into an email in writing funnily enough.

ChinFluff46 · 12/01/2026 13:35

Do we think there's defo no set up in who got smoke in their mirrors? Harriet and Matthew seem the cleverest for the task, I'm suspicious 😂

  • -

I think from reading past threads, one of the gripes from viewers are logical inconsistencies, that get edited out or not satisfactorily explained. I defo have one over why Reece said nothing about the family tree.

I wondered about the handwriting - it’s a give away - you could memorise it or just one letter that’s distinctive

Dunno about Matthew seeming the cleverest (sorry Matthew)

Tough crowd!!!

But I will wear a jumper with a chicken on it (tucked in like Matthew tucks in his non-tucked jumpers of course) as a sign of appreciation.

An ad for this came up on my feed yesterday. You will need a chunky cardigan over it though or you’ll catch your death.

Could Rachel say to the others (in her mirror challenge team) that the question she asked the traitors was “who will be murdered next?” and they said “Matthew” just to stir it up a bit 😁

😂

But you would still have to convince your fellows you were telling the truth.

Anything the faithful questions glean is open to doubt from the other faithfuls, never mind if it's actually factual, and as has already been said we all know how the faithful will round on one of their own for no obvious reason so it's a poisoned chalice to be asking the questions I think.

Yeah but it’s still information for yourself

but yes I here you about convincing the others

yes it’s completely like real life - someone gets a bee in their bonnet and then convinces those around them - maybe they cousold do that
