Welcome to Thread 6 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz
Reece

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)
Fiona (Traitor)

No murder cliffhanger after episode 6, but Matthew (aka Interchangeable Male #3) has taken an interesting approach. We wait to see what cunning questions Harriet can come up with.

The floor is yours…

This time it’s personal! Traitors 2026 | Thread 5 | Spoiler Free! | Mumsnet

Unbelievable that people are being accused of being psychopaths for playing the game they are supposed to, based on edits. Why on earth should anyone of them weep tears for people they have known for a week?

I might add that Claudia might just as well have tapped Jessie or Reece or any of the supposed ' nice' ones, and they would probably have been just as "psychopathic".

Oh give over, there’s been much worse said about Fiona in this thread but both she and Rachel are playing a game! You’re either discussing what makes someone more skillful at it or not. There’s no need to come over all righteous fangirl.

Amd do read up on psychopathy, it’s not all serial killers and crime you know. There are some incredibly successful, law-abiding people with psychopathic brains.

I agree
Personally I find it odd that anyone cries at all, when it's just a game

Well that’s easy - many, many contestants have said that actually being on the show is intense and very emotional. I’m not at all surprised that feelings run high and people’s innate personality traits rise to the surface under pressure, even if they’re all working hard to keep their “social” face in place. That’s what The Traitors really is - social dynamics and group likability/hierarchy under a microscope, for an audience. Even seasoned celebs with less prize-winning pressure and more knowledge of the other contestants have said they found it harder than they’d expected.

Which is why someone who can keep their cool day after day in that environment and still turn on a dime to throw “allies” under the bus while retaining the group’s loyalty are fascinating, and I think are doing more than just “acting” or “playing a game.” There‘s something innate that allows them to do that.

CharlotteRumpling · 11/01/2026 13:41

Personally I think Stephen is a psychopath. Only a psychopath from the 1% would tuck jumpers into jeans.

Edited

And males are approx twice as likely to be psychopaths than females (shocker). So males who wear tucked in jumpers, and I’d add males who wear 1/4 zip jumpers, are quite identifiable..

Yes I am aware of all the reasons in your first paragraph and agree with everything you say in your second paragraph

Literally nobody has made any such ridiculous suggestions as “sugar daddy”s.

In her own bio Jade said she can’t afford her own home because she is on a studentship salary (which is peanuts). At the same time she is wearing a wardrobe way outside the budget of someone living on a studentship (not just the £400 cardigan).

That caused me to wonder if there is a wardrobe consultant for the contestants as well as Claudia, using UK fashion businesses since the cardigan is only one of the pricier items worn by contestants. If there is, I’d be interested to know the businesses they are using (as with the aforementioned Shetland thread). Its also possible that Jade, like other contestants, hopes to use the show to kick start other income streams.

How you get from a discussion on wardrobe consultants to implications of sugar daddies I have no idea.

Lauren Aston Designs has produced knitwear for Claudia in past season(s? - don't think they've featured this year) Her company produces commissioned copies of the knitwear and patterns to knit your own . I think other companies have stated similar - maybe re a kilt in the past...?

Do you think if there were a few black or say Chinese young men in there who all looked similar that people would be laughing at not being able to tell them apart and calling them interchangeable?

Oh lighten up, it was just a bit of fun.

This is not AIBU, can we try not bring drama and argument on to this thread? Please!! 🙏

I am lightened up thanks. Just pointing out the hypocrisy. It was OK for people up thread to point out non whites being voted out first (which I don't believe is bias conscious or unconscious just personalities playing a game). So would it still be a bit of fun if they were all black or Chinese?

I mean, the celebs cried too. It does seem like you become very ingrained and folk do care about each other. Which is nice I guess, coming out with new friends you care about.

Yes. They are all suddenly immersed into a brand new all encompassing world. Of course it’s more emotional..

I felt like Amanda was familiar but given her previous DCI role I wondered if I had seen her on the news giving a press statement?

Probably been shared ages ago but here’s who Amanda reminded me of! I liked her, sorry she’s left.

This issue has already been dealt with in considerable depth and resolved, either on this thread, or on one of the many previous ones.

helplessbanana · 11/01/2026 15:19

WarrenTofficier · 11/01/2026 12:43

I would have thought if there was some sort of promote UK brands deal going on there would be a stylist sticking it all over Instagram. Some items like the cardi are easily recognisable but most would need a link to identify them as X brand or Y designer.

Some of the contestants seem to have a great wardrobe but others not so much so are only one or two picked out for this 'help'? That would be massively unfair.

I suspect Jade has prioritised her clothes and either spent whatever allowance they get for doing the show on a few expensive items or saves hard/bargain hunts for them or has received the cardigan as a gift/used birthday Christmas money to buy it as a one off (unless anyone has identified other similarity expensive items on her). Or she comes from an upper middle class background and has a healthy clothes allowance and has grown up with designer as the 'norm'.

Maybe some constestants are interested in fashion and take great care over what they wear on the programme, and some other contestants just wear what they usually do, only a bit smarter. Because it's telly. Just like in real life, actually.

They haven’t had the chance to murder Harriet yet, she’s not been on the shortlist at all!

That’s a really good point - the murder lost has been really restricted this time. We haven’t seen the traitors have a free choice of kill at all. I wonder why

If there is wardrobe assistance then k am pretty confident this is the first time. Nobody could look at Charlotte’s clothing from last year and think anybody styled her! (Oh, that sounds mean and it is not supposed to. I even looked up where one of her mad cardigans was from because I liked it and it was vintage! But she definitely had her own look)

Beachtastic · 11/01/2026 15:32

MrsLeonFarrell · 10/01/2026 20:28

Amanda did not look impressed by Fiona at all. I don't know what Charlotte Church was gushing about her either. Fiona doesn't have crone energy, no matter what Charlotte said, she has Queen Bee energy.

She has arsehole energy.

MrsLeonFarrell · 11/01/2026 15:34

I'm pretty sure they take their own clothes, going by what Yin said last year.

Maybe Jade's clothes are gifts from parents?

As a PP said, this has been dealt with. I would just say that far from the blokes in question being mistaken for each other based on their race, it was more about their similar style of clothing, age & general demeanour so I don't think it's the same thing as you are suggesting. But maybe that's just me.

Your post is goady & spoiling for an argument but this is meant to be a light-hearted thread where people discuss a TV show.
Let's keep it that way.

Feel free to go on to AIBU & start a thread to discuss this if you feel strongly about it but this is not the place.

Do we think Stephen has now escaped the ' library room' curse? I can't remember if Fiona was in the library group.

Yes, I think she was and if I remember rightly Harriet pointed that out to Jessie which is why Jessie then voted for Fiona instead of Stephen?

Stephen nudged her in that direction too, without making her realise he was deflecting suspicion from himself.

I thought Matthew was a quiet man inspired by Father Dougal’s wardrobe. He surprised me with his questions to the traitors and I’ve just learned today that he has a second Instagram account just to share photos of him doing naked headstands. Very unexpected!

I hope so. There must be more interesting things they can include in the edit than Jessie and the bloody library conversation again!
