Welcome to Thread 6 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz
Reece

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)
Fiona (Traitor)

No murder cliffhanger after episode 6, but Matthew (aka Interchangeable Male #3) has taken an interesting approach. We wait to see what cunning questions Harriet can come up with.

The floor is yours…

This time it’s personal! Traitors 2026 | Thread 5 | Spoiler Free! | Mumsnet

I think there are certainly wardrobe people advising the contestants - how much branded clothing have you seen? (Answer - none) I suspect most males would struggle to produced a wardrobe for two weeks without including sports branding... they are being helped and possibly supplied with clothing.

No brand names but I’ve definitely recognised some of the clothes (although not the cardigan). It would make sense to have some stylists and it makes sense if players are aiming for collabs but if they are using UK designers/businesses it would be nice to give them a mention.

Youngeryoungsuddenly · 11/01/2026 11:31

I was so glad to see Fiona go. She was so disingenuous and not very likeable. She really shot herself in the foot, I hope Rachel is safe, I like her.

Absolutely. If Jessie wore it, I don’t think people would even notice. When a beautiful young woman wears it, it invokes what can only be described as some sort of jealousy or bitterness.
Maybe she lives at home, maybe she comes from a wealthy background, maybe she has a sugar daddy. Who actually cares. It’s a beautiful piece of knitwear. Admire it or dislike it but the speculation is bizarre.

Literally nobody has made any such ridiculous suggestions as “sugar daddy”s.

In her own bio Jade said she can’t afford her own home because she is on a studentship salary (which is peanuts). At the same time she is wearing a wardrobe way outside the budget of someone living on a studentship (not just the £400 cardigan).

That caused me to wonder if there is a wardrobe consultant for the contestants as well as Claudia, using UK fashion businesses since the cardigan is only one of the pricier items worn by contestants. If there is, I’d be interested to know the businesses they are using (as with the aforementioned Shetland thread). Its also possible that Jade, like other contestants, hopes to use the show to kick start other income streams.

How you get from a discussion on wardrobe consultants to implications of sugar daddies I have no idea.

Brownbananaspot · 11/01/2026 11:35

I noticed Jade's cardigan because I liked it, but it did look expensive.

Catching up on the last episode, Fiona was stupid in how she went for Rachel, it made no sense. She would have been better off biding her time, since Rachel was using the Amanda conversation to go for faithfuls. I'm not surprised Fiona works in local government - so do I and I recognise her in some of my colleagues, which put me off her immediately. I bet she's a real bitch to work with.

As an aside, I kept thinking Amanda reminded me of someone and finally figured it out when she went. She reminds me of Victoria Wood. Wonder if anyone else thought the same?

I think the males are dressed incredibly casually. The celeb version was great for the wardrobe visuals alone!

It's not the method of playing that is drawing my criticism, it's Fiona's attitude towards others.

There was no strategic benefit in her going for Rachel, it was personal.

She delighted in being in control of other people and messing with their experience of the game. On uncloaked she told Reece she'd been playing cat and mouse with him. That's just nasty, especially when it was clear he was struggling emotionally.

She had no game-related reasons for her choices of people on her shortlist. She just enjoyed having that power. Talking about her son being a teacher and wanting to have a dig at teachers by choosing Netty.

It was weird and uncomfortable behaviour, and didn't change out of the game.

I agree with all of that.

I noticed it because I love that brand and would love to be able to afford one - Charlotte Church wore one in celeb traitors & I noticed it then straight away too.

For me, it’s that it doesn’t align with what Jade has said about herself (poor student) so I wondered if she had a secret that’s not yet been disclosed to us viewers yet. My commenting wasn’t meant in any way to besmirch Jade.

I would also have commented if it had been Jessie or anyone else wearing a Hope McAuley cardi as I love her cardigans so much!

I agree, and quite frankly, I'm utterly sick and tired of all this joking nonsense about women of a certain age and their supposed total reliance on Tena. FFS. I'm a woman whose age begins with a 6, and it is infuriating to have all of us lumped together as incontinent biddies whose pelvic floor disappeared years ago, and ooh, isn't it funny that we all piss ourselves at the slightest thing.

Ageist bollocks, and does a real disservice to those of all ages who genuinely need that product.

Absolutely spot on. I’m the same age as Fiona and from the same part of the world. I was so glad to see her go.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 11/01/2026 12:14

I checked out the cardies and my favourite is jade's one. But I don't think a large chested woman could pull it off. Or could I?! Clutching at straws!

QueenOfThorns · 11/01/2026 12:15

lettingthedaysgoby · 11/01/2026 10:58

Yes - one flaw in this series is that the Traitors have not had free rein to select a victim. This is probably by design, either to make things more difficult for Traitors (and to make them more vulnerable to banishment) or simply to reduce the time in the "turret" when there are a lot of potential victims.

Eiter way, it has changed the game-play in this series (but I think they need to keep making changes to stop people coming in with a well-researched strategy based on previous series, which would, as with other reality shows, start to become boring).

It makes sense for them to make this change. One of the more common complaints on these threads is that anyone who demonstrates even a small amount of intelligence gets banished early on (because being clever is considered suspicious behaviour) if they don’t get murdered first. So you end up with a group comprising Traitors and the dimmest, most trusting of the Faithful. I would love for it to pan out differently this time and someone like Harriet to play a blinding game and outsmart the Traitors. After all, the odds are seriously against her to pull it off!

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 11/01/2026 12:18

I'm not a fan of the secret traitor aspect.

I would be happy if Jessie or Harriet, or even Sam won!

cariadlet · 11/01/2026 12:20

I'd struggle on Traitors. I'd struggle with the game itself, mainly because I'm autistic which makes me naive and far too trusting.

But I'd also struggle with what to wear. I wouldn't want to wear dresses or skirts because I'd feel like I was at work. But if I'm not at work, I live in jeans, tshirts and hoodies. All of my tshirts and hoodies have slogans on (mostly women's rights) and I don't think the producers would let me wear any of them on tv.

My dad's partner designs hoodies and t shirts (he isn't well known at all unfortunately) and I would definitely want to wear those if I was on it as I love in them in RL. That said, he's applied to be on it himself so if he got through, he could possibly try and promote his own brand anyway. Not that he has an obvious brand name on his clothing.

WarrenTofficier · 11/01/2026 12:43

I would have thought if there was some sort of promote UK brands deal going on there would be a stylist sticking it all over Instagram. Some items like the cardi are easily recognisable but most would need a link to identify them as X brand or Y designer.

Some of the contestants seem to have a great wardrobe but others not so much so are only one or two picked out for this 'help'? That would be massively unfair.

I suspect Jade has prioritised her clothes and either spent whatever allowance they get for doing the show on a few expensive items or saves hard/bargain hunts for them or has received the cardigan as a gift/used birthday Christmas money to buy it as a one off (unless anyone has identified other similarity expensive items on her). Or she comes from an upper middle class background and has a healthy clothes allowance and has grown up with designer as the 'norm'.

magimedi · 11/01/2026 12:47

Maybe Jade has nice friends & she's been lent some clothes for the occasion.

Unbelievable that people are being accused of being psychopaths for playing the game they are supposed to, based on edits. Why on earth should anyone of them weep tears for people they have known for a week?

I might add that Claudia might just as well have tapped Jessie or Reece or any of the supposed ' nice' ones, and they would probably have been just as "psychopathic".

I agree
Personally I find it odd that anyone cries at all, when it's just a game

Prawnalicious · 11/01/2026 12:55

I really didn't like Fiona but I hope the production team also have some after -care in place for her now she's out.

HideousKinky · 11/01/2026 12:56

Silverbirchleaf · 11/01/2026 09:54

What puzzles me slightly, is that no one has mentioned that Harriet is a criminal author. They must have hours to spend just chatting, including jobs, family etc so Harriet must have revealed she’s an author.

I don't think she has, nor has she mentioned she used to be a barrister like Hugo.
Perhaps she just said she's retired without saying what she used to do?
Amanda managed not to mention her profession either so I guess if you say something vague like civil servant no one asks further?

Yes, one of the things I liked about Fiona was when she was banished. She said something like I haven't know you long enough to grow to love you but I do like you very much. So refreshing from the I love you all so much speeches.

I felt like Amanda was familiar but given her previous DCI role I wondered if I had seen her on the news giving a press statement?

butimamonstersaidthemonster · 11/01/2026 13:05

The only person I want to win is Jessie.

saveforthat · 11/01/2026 13:05

Do you think if there were a few black or say Chinese young men in there who all looked similar that people would be laughing at not being able to tell them apart and calling them interchangeable?

That endeared me to her but her appearance on Uncloaked soon put a stop to that feeling. I had assumed she had put Netty on the shortlist for a good reason...

WarrenTofficier · 11/01/2026 13:08

I think Amanda said she works/ volunteers for a charity. I don't think we have heard what Hillary has told them. Writer is very easy to disguise

'oh my job is very dull I sit at a computer typing all day'

'I mostly do research'

'I'm a writer' 'wow exciting anything I might have read?' 'No it's technically stuff/specific to an obscure field'.

TheGreenBow · 11/01/2026 13:09

I quite liked Fiona - I can see why she thought Rachel was branching out on her own as the best thing to do in that situation would have been to tell the other two traitors what Amanda had said first and then plan together on how to use that information. I don’t think Fiona went about things the right way but I can’t understand the strong dislike of her. I thought she came across really well in her leaving speech.

Having said that I wish she’d been a bit more truthful on Uncloaked as that is the point of that programme isn’t it - to find out real reasons and explanations for things. But it’s also about entertainment so was I guess up to her how she answered the questions.
