Welcome to Thread 6 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz
Reece

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)
Fiona (Traitor)

No murder cliffhanger after episode 6, but Matthew (aka Interchangeable Male #3) has taken an interesting approach. We wait to see what cunning questions Harriet can come up with.

The floor is yours…

This time it’s personal! Traitors 2026 | Thread 5 | Spoiler Free! | Mumsnet

I’ve just watched last night’s Uncloacked…
Stunned by how different Amanda looks!

She was not happy when Fiona, who’s only five years older, was talking about women of certain age and tena.

Edited

Amanda did not look impressed by Fiona at all. I don't know what Charlotte Church was gushing about her either. Fiona doesn't have crone energy, no matter what Charlotte said, she has Queen Bee energy.

Jade very posh hippy type.

DD has a few friends from Uni that she reminds me of.

But I still can't un-see Allie Sheedy now when I look at her!!!

OMG yes!!!!

Thanks. Maybe I need to start right back at the beginning and work my way through alll the ones I've missed on the evenings that the current series isn't on.

I would not watch them at the same time your adrenaline system won’t know up or down 😆

ClaudiaWeveAllHadChildcareDaysLikeThat · 10/01/2026 20:34

Maybe we do need an S&B thread with Traitors! Claudia’s lipstick was a gothic deep purple but it looked baby pink on the show! https://www.lisaeldridge.com/products/new-wave-insanely-saturated-lip-colour

We wondered about that, too! I’ve always been pretty sure they dress themselves and do their own hair and makeup but I don’t know many PhD students with £400 knitwear. Although of course some come from wealthy backgrounds. Has she said what she would do with the money?

Her bio page for the contest has this:

If you win the prize money, what do you think you'll spend it on?
I would really like to buy a house. I’m the ripe age of 25 and PhD life doesn't pay very well. I’d like to buy a house somewhere I can call home, as I have moved around a lot for studying and so I'd like somewhere to finally call my own.

When we were saving for a mortgage we definitely did not by the equivalent of £400 cardigans.

That made me wonder at the pricey wardrobe items on the show and I thought possibly the show provides some stylists with British fashion products (as happens for Shetland with Scottish products although that’s a drama so its a bit different).

WonderfulSmith · 10/01/2026 18:08

I was reading about that cardigan, via another thread in Style and Beauty, and it’s hand knitted, they don’t use needles. And you can’t wash it. I do wonder if they get a wardrobe allowance as if I went on there is look a disaster yet so many people seem to have a nice outfit each day.

Yes its the day to day outfits with pricier items I was thinking of rather than the cardigan specifically. Anyone might have a one of fancy item (as pp say, gifts etc) although I would not be taking something that high maintenance to the castle!

However its the other wardrobe items worn by contestants (not just Jade) at the pricey end of high street designers where people are in low or middling paying jobs - it could be a good way to promote small UK fashion businesses. .

Hang it outside on the line for a few hours when the temperature is below 0 (especially if snowing), great way to freshen up delicate garments esp wools.

I bag up my wool items and freeze them for a couple of days before packing them away in the Spring - would that have the same effect?

In my case its to prevent moth taking hold.

Hattieandcake · 10/01/2026 21:16

I know it’s easier to say when watching but I can’t believe no one else is suspicious of Rachel - why would Fiona go so hardcore when they now know she’s a traitor and knew Rachel’s status. I also notice Rachel saying “if I was a traitor I would feel …” loads.

Can’t believe we have to wait until weds! Thought Matt’s questions were very sly !

ANutAsBigAsABoulder · 10/01/2026 21:24

I’m looking forward to Harriet’s questions, and then seeing how she, Matthew and Rachel play it once they’re all back face to face. I’d love to see Harriet win.

I think Jessie is an astute player, I could do with a bit less of the over-dramatic mouth agape reactions and falling over though.

One thing I’ve really not liked from this and the celebrity series is seeing them all eating. If I was a Traitor, having someone next to me eat with their mouth open or talk to me while eating would lead to instant murder shortlisting 😆

That makes a lot of sense, people should be thinking that. Except that it seems that so many people like Rachel that they’re likely to stifle sensible suspicions and vote elsewhere 🙄

ANutAsBigAsABoulder · 10/01/2026 21:33

Just to clarify, people could talk to me while they ate - just not while they also had a mouthful of food. I’d probably use it as my reason for nominating people at a RT too.

butimamonstersaidthemonster · 10/01/2026 22:03

I hope Jessie gets a shield. Not only would that stuff up Matts plan but i also like Jessie a lot and want her to win.

ShowDownTime · 10/01/2026 22:55

Can someone explain what’s so clever about Matthew’s deal? Surely the traitors can agree to any old thing and then just not do it. Isn’t the whole thing totally pointless? I don’t get why people are saying on social media that he’s a genius for coming up with it. Maybe I didn’t understand what he proposed?

Yes they can say anything, so it’s not the answer that makes it clever, it’s that he’s used the opportunity to negotiate and give them an idea, rather than simply to obtain empty information. He’s possibly enhanced his gameplay by saying hey I’d be a good traitor, let’s play together and win. I think he’s also made himself vulnerable by pointing himself out as a backstabbing stirrer, I don’t think traitors really want them to stay in the game either. Or as a distraction or sitting duck, make him a traitor and then use any change in behaviour to have him banished, then the faithfuls have got 3 traitors out and will be more relaxed about people who continue to stay the same.

FourNaanJeremy · 10/01/2026 23:21

There’s quite a few of them who seem to have never even been mentioned as possible traitors. Jack, Faraaz, Harriet, Jessie, Adam, Roxy. Even James has hardly been suspected to my recollection. I genuinely forget some of them are even in there

Usethoseballsofjellyinyourhead · 10/01/2026 23:25

I would love the next mission to have a secret shield winner that isn't known by anyone except the person who finds it. If Matty was to win it, then privately give it to Jessie and tell her why (because the traitors said she'd be the next murder) but ask her not to tell anyone that it was him who gave it to her.

Jessie is protected, Matty proves he's a faithful (to Jessie), then he gets recruited but avoids suspicion because Jessie will defend him and goes on to the end game.

Convoluted, I know, but not impossible!

Not a bad idea! I could see him doing that

TheGreenBow · 10/01/2026 23:35

I just had a thought - imagine if Rachel or Stephen needed to sneeze during the questioning 🤣 I think people would then be able to guess, or at least guess a man versus woman sneeze. Could be dusty in that church 🤣

Sorry, as you were!!

Oneforallandallforone · 10/01/2026 23:43

Daytimetellyqueen · 10/01/2026 17:32

I disagree - she was loyal to Stephen & Hugo. No idea what she would have done about Fiona at a later date but Fiona didn’t like Rachel appearing so faithful so tried to torpedo her & that thankfully backfired, which I think will guarantee Rachel a place in the final (unless Harriet starts speaking up soon !)

I disagree. She wasn't loyal to Hugo. That loyalty speech to Stephen was said just before the ST was revealed and she wanted an ally in Stephen to get rid of the ST as soon as possible. She practically said it - we don't need that person. Its us two. She rushed it out to make sure Stephen would follow her lead. Doubt she (or Stephen actually) would hesitate to throw the other under the bus if it meant saving themselves.

Oneforallandallforone · 10/01/2026 23:49

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 10/01/2026 16:39

Exactly because what's the point in outing them? If you really suspect you should just keep quiet and go with other folk for bullshit reasons I told you get to the end

In the Irish one, they knew one of the traitors was a traitor and kept them in until one of the typical useless faithfuls decided to start a campaign with the more easily led faithfuls to vote the traitor out. There was a big argument between all the faithfuls when the traitor had to stand up and say she was a traitor. While it was obviously a very good tactic, showing the easily led faithfuls being completely confused when the rest didn't whoop and cheer at the traitor reveal didn't make for great tv.

I think I have never disliked a contestant as much as Fiona. She reminds me of an awful woman who bullied me a few years ago at work. So fake, so unnecessarily unpleasant.

I like Rachel - think she is doing a great job as a Traitor... The task has great opportunities to feed misinformation to the others - can't wait to see what they do with it

Harriet to win!

How I'm loving this thread! Watching the series and uncloaked I felt like I was in the minority with my Fiona opinion but you've reaffirmed my faith in humanity. The moment she said her family call her flowery with the truth I got the heebies. She seemed to revel in causing people upset, rather than the usual more good hearted discord which comes with the game. I've come across far too many people of that nature and they aren't usually good to have around. I mean in terms on enthralling television yes, she's great for that, but as a person...think it's the first time in four seasons I actually punched the air to see a banishment.

stillnoideawhatimdoing · 11/01/2026 05:53

I wonder if actually Fionas roundtable vote will somehow backfire on Rachel. I guess she hoped more votes for Sam would save her. Though perhaps only Harriet would pick up on it at this point with her suspicions already and she's not going to say anything yet. Hopefully she will before she's offed!

PotteryChuck · 11/01/2026 07:20

I disliked Fiona as much as I disliked John from series 1.

Horrible woman, and she didn't even have the grace to admit she was wrong about thinking Rachel had lied about what Amanda had told her, when she was on Uncloaked.

On her VT to camera, alone, she said she 'knew' Rachel was lying. But then changed her tune. Fiona blowing all that up was her feeling genuinely pissed off. A good game player would have planned how to react, but she acted 100% emotionally.

Then she said on Uncloaked she knew Rachel was telling the truth (to avoid admitting she was wrong, a person like Fiona never likes to admit they're wrong) but just playing along.

She's a nasty piece of work - the embodiment of Professor Umbridge.

NewAgeNewMe · 11/01/2026 07:30

Finally caught up with all episodes and Uncloaked. Have read Blood Orange for book club, annoying that I can’t remember it. Matthew interesting proposal. Off to read the thread properly.
