Welcome to Thread 6 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz
Reece

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)
Fiona (Traitor)

No murder cliffhanger after episode 6, but Matthew (aka Interchangeable Male #3) has taken an interesting approach. We wait to see what cunning questions Harriet can come up with.

The floor is yours…

This time it’s personal! Traitors 2026 | Thread 5 | Spoiler Free! | Mumsnet

It seems really unfair if the game is to catch traitors, and you do that, but then there are more traitors. Haven't they found them, and, therefore, won (once they have all 4)?

Exactly because what's the point in outing them? If you really suspect you should just keep quiet and go with other folk for bullshit reasons I told you get to the end

WonderfulSmith · 10/01/2026 16:46

Harriet’s book ‘The Lies you Told’ is 99p on Kobo at the moment.

It’s also on Kindle Unlimited - not sure whether her other books are

Maz is retired from the police and is now a civil servant - if Fiona’s husband is a serving police officer, he’s definitely not Maz.

OMG! I actually started to think that maybe Maz was Fiona’s husband and that their son’s name was derived from both their names - Faraaz 😱

Rachel hasn’t been backhanded though. She never voted Hugo that was Fiona and Stephen. She’s actually. Been the most loyal. Stephen’s voted traitors twice.

I agree with this - Rachel is actually a very loyal traitor & she’d have kept the heat off the traitors by disclosing what Amanda said if Fiona hadn’t gone rogue! Rachel to win for me!

Loyal to whom? Perhaps to Stephen but she was going to torpedo Fiona at the earliest opportunity.
And Fiona knew that.

Jade irritated me with her ongoing petulant responses to being nominated as a traitor and that response also made her seem more like a traitor to those nominating her. Last night was the first time we have seen her respond to being nominated in a similar manner to others.
Being incorrectly nominated on the “evidence’ that you looked a bit funny at a random event is all part of the game. In her bio she emphasises her gaming experience and yet seemed not to grasp this basic aspect of the game.

On a side note I think it was Jade’s outfits which made me wonder if the show provides wardrobe/styling to contestants. She has been wearing some pretty pricey outfits for someone who describes living on a PhD grant salary. I’ve seen other contestants pop up with quite fancy outfits but I wasn’t sure of the mismatch between wardrobe and their income. I would defer to the S&B posters on this - perhaps we need a matching Traitors style thread as was created for Shetland!

Edited

We wondered about that, too! I’ve always been pretty sure they dress themselves and do their own hair and makeup but I don’t know many PhD students with £400 knitwear. Although of course some come from wealthy backgrounds. Has she said what she would do with the money?

I disagree - she was loyal to Stephen & Hugo. No idea what she would have done about Fiona at a later date but Fiona didn’t like Rachel appearing so faithful so tried to torpedo her & that thankfully backfired, which I think will guarantee Rachel a place in the final (unless Harriet starts speaking up soon !)

I agree. I adore Hope McAuley knitwear but can’t justify the expense (despite earning 6 figures) so I did wonder what secret she’s hiding. From HM instagram, she hasn’t gifted Jade the cardigan, so she must have bought it.

I was just about to post that same thing about Amanda. It makes her appear more the clueless cop who doggedly pursues a suspect simply because they don't much take to them.

I wondered if she was backtracking after watching the episode. Same for Fiona who framed Maz ‘because he was nice’.

Yes, except she said as soon as she got out that she had no idea who the traitors were.

needmorebooks · 10/01/2026 17:43

Claudia needs credit for the job she does. Honestly she’s amazing. Knowing the traitors and keeping neutral reactions must be hard. Not even a slight difference in reaction when a traitor gets a shield or smashed that smoke mirror. Not sure I’d be able to do it, my face is an open book.

I think Jade comes from a pretty well to do family. The way she talks and carries herself makes me think they're not super rich but definitely comfortable

theres an exact copy on Alibaba for £20

cariadlet · 10/01/2026 17:46

This is the first series that I've watched properly (every episode and Uncloaked) - I watched a few Celebrity episodes but hadn't seen any of the normal ones.

Lots of posters are saying that they find the tasks/challenges really boring. Is that for this series (are they different from in previous series?) or generally?

I'm enjoying most of the tasks. Even if watching people running around collecting spears or skulls isn't intrinsically exciting, I'm so impressed by the props and find that the costumes and music add to them to create a very dramatic atmosphere.

(Edited to correct a typo)

PS Is it worth watching the old series on IPlayer? Lots of names have been mentioned on the threads and some old players have been on Uncloaked but as I'm still struggling with the interchangeables (I know Reece has he's so lovely and James because he's hyper but still confuse some of the others with each other), I think I'm likely to forget everything I've seen, heard or read about previous players.

I'd bet my house that the photo on AB might be an "exact copy" (ie stolen) but what you'd receive would be a shitty knock off made by slave labour. Jade's is clearly the real deal.
Perhaps there's a clothing allowance, perhaps a wardrobe dept. In my experience though most PhD students (especially in non technical/science disciplines) come from well above average income families.

I doubt if that would work because most of the time they suspect the wrong people. Let's face it, most of it is guesswork based on no real evidence at all.

I like the missions 🤷‍♀️
And I’d say yes, go back and watch one! I recommended my mum do the same today as she’s just got into it. UK season 2 was my favourite

SwedishEdith · 10/01/2026 18:05

Jade may have just saved gifts of money from birthdays and Christmas to buy the cardigan. Or it was a present for completing her master's. I know someone who is not wealthy but made a decision to spend her first monthly salary on something she'd always wanted. And if I was 25, beautiful, intelligent and about to be scrutinised on TV, I would definitely be thinking about my wardrobe. But, yes, I also assume she has a wealthy background. She seemed to have a nice leather (looking, at least) coat when they were doing the last task.

PinkPanther57 · 10/01/2026 18:06

She has a wealthy partner I think too.

WonderfulSmith · 10/01/2026 18:08

I was reading about that cardigan, via another thread in Style and Beauty, and it’s hand knitted, they don’t use needles. And you can’t wash it. I do wonder if they get a wardrobe allowance as if I went on there is look a disaster yet so many people seem to have a nice outfit each day.

peacefulpeach · 10/01/2026 18:09

The cardigan situation. I like the cardi, I don’t love it. There are other designs on the website mentioned earlier. Can’t remember it now. The issue is washing. These things need to be hand washed. No thank you. So then I put them in the machine on ‘delicates / ‘hand wash’, and they shrink, properly shrink. I’m not buying cashmere/ alpaca/ wool whatever any more. Not even if I was on traitors.

QueenOfThorns · 10/01/2026 18:10

I never understand this! I love the tasks, both for themselves and for what they show you about how people interact/play the game. The ones this series have been of a similar style to ones from previous series, although I particularly enjoyed the one with the pictures. The last series had one involving clowns that would have sent me running screaming into the woods, though!

And Fiona knew that.

Fiona signed her own death warrant. Her behaviour was ridiculous.
Rachel might not have outer Fiona eventually or she might have but she certainly wouldn't have acted against her as quickly as she did until that crazy made up accusatiom about Rachel lying
Apart from anything else it made no sense and Rachel was actually trying to get the heat of the traitors (all of them) when she told everyone about Amanda.
