Welcome to Thread 6 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz
Reece

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)
Fiona (Traitor)

No murder cliffhanger after episode 6, but Matthew (aka Interchangeable Male #3) has taken an interesting approach. We wait to see what cunning questions Harriet can come up with.

The floor is yours…

This time it’s personal! Traitors 2026 | Thread 5 | Spoiler Free! | Mumsnet

‘The game is also about building relationships and alliances ‘

Yes just like Mollie did with Harry eh? The rule of Traitors that they almost all always ignore - trust no one.

Edited

But neither Molly nor Harry would have been last pick in a team or the one without a skull hunter would they?

The alliances get you through the day to day, inevitably some of those will be between faithfuls and traitors. Sam has been last pick more than once which suggests he isn’t building even those transitional alliances in the game.

I was surprised at the banishment and just afterwards, that so many of the players said how they really liked Fiona despite having to vote her out. Which of course helped Stephen’s Oscar-attempt/genuine soppiness look plausible. How had they not seen the woman we all saw, both in tasks and during her manic Rachel moments?!

There's not been a challenge involving Claudia's little holiday shack cottage in the woods yet, has there? I wonder when that's going to happen.

Nor has there been a laugh-out-loud challenge either, like the singing down the well one on the celeb traitors episode. How the production team keep coming up with all these new challenges is amazing really.

I thought the one where they recreated the paintings was one of the better challenges!

Seasidewalker · 10/01/2026 12:16

Me too re the painting challenge, I loved it, proper laugh out loud 😆

PinkPanther57 · 10/01/2026 12:17

Is it a game of luck/chance or strategy?

cloudtreecarpet · 10/01/2026 12:18

ResusciAnnie · 10/01/2026 10:39

I also hate that they call it ‘seduce’/‘seduction’ now. Initially introduced as recruitment and then someone used the wrong word along the way and now they all call it seduction 🙄

I have to start paying more attention overall, eg I totally missed why people seem to hate Roxy???

This thread is brilliant!

I think it was Matt saying "seduction" and "seduce" last night that got me confused!

Seasidewalker · 10/01/2026 12:22

All of these I think

Thanks, you're not the only one to mention it now, I don't think I saw much of it as I had a phone call from an overseas relative that evening and went upstairs to take it. I only saw the very beginning of the challenge. Will have to find it on catch-up.

PinkPanther57 · 10/01/2026 12:26

Weighted, how?

DarkForces · 10/01/2026 12:28

That was a good end to the episode. I was struggling to think of useful things to ask the traitors and Matthew basically plays the pick me dance! Did not see that coming. I want to know what Harriet's got up her sleeve and how Rachel's going to play this one

lettingthedaysgoby · 10/01/2026 12:32

sorryIdidntmeanto · 10/01/2026 10:34

It seems really unfair if the game is to catch traitors, and you do that, but then there are more traitors. Haven't they found them, and, therefore, won (once they have all 4)?

The game is to be last one standing, so goes to the end game. There must be traitors until the end to make it work, the final RT and then the fire pit banishments are to get rid of remaining traitors.

Seasidewalker · 10/01/2026 12:33

PinkPanther57 · 10/01/2026 12:26

Weighted, how?

I doubt there is any set weighting i suspect everyone's game plays differently, that might be strategy or luck.

If the Ross scenario is correct the bad luck of meeting Netty as he did seemed to sink him. If they hadn't met, or they'd met in a less public way (one of the 121 meetings) maybe he'd have reacted differently/ not been observed in his reaction. Apparently production say they didn't know there was a link

I suspect if there was a formula we'd see a different game. It'll be interesting too hear Ellie's observations further down the line

I think they just didn't want to be heard saying anything nasty about an "old lady". It was pretty obvious that Fiona was far less popular than Rachel, only Reece seemed to be genuinely fond of her.

Thanks - just strategising how you might play to win. Watching every previous show necessary homework IMO.

ChinFluff46 · 10/01/2026 12:39

I have much less ti speculate over than previous episodes, as we don't know what Harriet will ask yet.

I'm loving Stephens reactions, his game play is so obvious, but he played a pretty smart / subtle move by asking Jessie to consider other options, then being devastated when Fiona went.

ChinFluff46 · 10/01/2026 12:41

Before the show Harriet was invited to play Traitors along with 10 other crime writers. An editor at a mag like Cosmo was there. She was brilliant apparently.

It's fascinating, I'd love to see some research, presumably it's appeared/appearing in psychology dissertations!

Listen to Richard and Marina’s run down on the show. They had all the stats about who was most likely to win - Faithful, Traitor from the start or Recruited Traitor. Also what the safest strategy was as a Faithful (ally yourself to someone you suspect as a Traitor so that they keep you in. Both Wilf and Harry had their favourite Faithfuls (Hannah and Mollie) that they took to the end.

Would it be more important to be thought a good egg by most (?) or go all out to win money.

Exhibit A B and C 😜

Yes I struggled with those 3

It’s fine for the first few episodes, I guess, because of how many there are to start with and some people getting very little to no air time, to make jokes about not being able to tell them apart. However, at this stage (half way through) it sounds very wrong to call them ‘interchangeables’ and not make a little effort in remembering who’s who.

And, yes, happened last year too with one group of women, who weren’t in the edits much the first episodes. That doesn’t make it right and this year more people seem to be doing it for longer.

I can bump into people I've known for years and not have a clue who they are from a short distance. I guess it's a thing....

No strategy can prevent you from being the first banishment/ murder which are both pretty much a grab the name out of thin air situations. There will always be an massive element of luck.
