The last thread filled up quickly! (2 weeks!) Shows Coronation Street is gaining popularity again. (It has improved quite a bit lately!)

R.I.P. Billy Mayhew.

Todd continues to be manipulated by Theo, Summer has done some stellar sobbing (that's brought me to tears!) and it seems there's no-one to help poor Todd.

Not much has been seen of The Driscolls for a while. after the tragedy around Corriedale, and Billy the vicar dying. (I'm sure they're about somewhere!)

Lisa (Swain) is being manipulated by Undead Becky now, (from prison) and she's threatening to 'take her down with her' if she doesn't have her back! Not sure Carla wants Lisa back anyway after Lisa slept with Becky!

Poor Debbie is all over the place, trying desperately to defend evil Carl who has stolen from her, cheated on Abi, and caused all kinds of destruction with a car, (twice - and both times he's got away with it!)

Shona and David's new baby is in hospital for a while after being born prematurely, and Shona's sister has appeared suddenly! I guess we'll learn more about her, and why she and Shona have not seen each other for some years.

Sorry if I've left anything out. I'm sure we'll all catch up soon.

Maggie actually made me laugh last night with the ‘we didn’t have cholesterol in my day’. line, sort of thing my mum would say.
Really liked the end scenes - love that London Grammar song though.

'Alice' for some reason thinks Roy has something to be scammed out of. I suppose this is going to be a public service announcement about the dangers of the internet, and as it's Corrie it's bound to end with Roy being held at gunpoint.

So it took Carla and Swain all of three weeks to get back together and resume being the world's most boring couple. It'll be an Easter wedding then.

I didn't believe Tyrone believing Carl.

I think it might well be him, given the number of references to the anniversary of Hayley’s death. Plus we know he was a nasty piece of work.

And why did Carl need to be wearing only a towel for the scene? At least we were spared the sight of him trying to turn Tyrone 😝

Oh when did we see a picture of Alice?

We saw a back view of a bearded bloke looking at his texts while Roy received one.

And beardy person had a text on their phone showing Roy's message.

Does Roy really need any of this ??

I mean ..come on script writers..he is only just recovering from being in prison.

Let him have an uncomplicated lady friend .

You know..just a nice , uncomplicated, no drama , no story , no drama...lady friend. To keep him company and talk about bats with.

I once caught the end of ‘ home and away ‘ and they had music over the over final scene. Does Corrie do this regularly or just a one off?
What with that and the smoky scenes it’s becoming very art house.

I’d hate Roy to be scammed especially as he was in jail for something he didn’t do as well and missing Haley.

Disappointing if Carla is getting back with Lisa just like that … didn’t believe anything she told her , slept with ex and was generally stupid . I was hoping her and Betsey would be on their way .
So Lauren and the older son at pub … firstly why would he be interested in someone so narky and miserable . Secondly he went out with DD who is what over 30 ? Now looking at Lauren who is under 20 ?! She hangs around with Betsey who is at college.
Roy - why can’t he just have a happy story ? Why does everything have to have a sinister edge .
Shona’s sister - really not interested.
The mother in law from hell at the pub - one of the most despicable, unlikeable characters they’ve ever introduced- there is no way I’d be getting along with her . Ben is so weak - he should have told her to do one .

Lisa's drunk vomiting would put me off her for life if I was Carla.

Ben really annoys me. He has a go at everyone else for arguing and causing him stress but after his mammy's revelation about Eva he punched Adam leaving Eva to sort it out even though she had enough on her plate with his mad mammy.

No it was 'Alice', we saw the text string to Roy.

Ben and Eva really don't have any choice about Ma Driscoll as her money bought the pub. But it seems there is a backstory with Ben being feckless with money, which is why she had to chip in. I doubt she'll be around too long, she doesn't really have the ring of a long term character about her.

No I don't think Ma Driscoll will be a long term character.

I liked the Charters and Caldicott type business associates of Carla. More of that pair please. 😄

anyway, we saw back of bearded man reading messages to Alice. So either he is pretending to be Alice or he has Alice’s phone (her husband/partner?) and is reading those messages.

The random way yesterday's episode opened, the ludicrous drunk scenes, Lauren's inexplicably sulky work persona and the music at the end made the whole thing seem a bit like a dream sequence.

They also had the filming from above thing a few months back. Perhaps one of their production team is straight out of college, wanting to try the things they've learned. And with that they'll be hoping for some kind of soapy arty award, which will obviously have to be made of bubbles 😁

I agree @TellingBone- I can’t see Ma Driscoll being there as a permanent character, hopefully Leanne will buy in and she can go back to Ireland.

The two business men - I was hoping they’d be a gay couple but just business pals I fear. I’d like them to appear again along with Raphael 😂

As many have said, I am very surprised that Carla and Lisa seem to be back together. Very unrealistic after what happened just over 2 weeks ago!
I agree that the 2 male business associates of Carla could be good characters to progress.
I have already watched tonight's episode and feel it was very ' bitty'..lots of storylines covered in just 22 minutes but no depth.

She won't be.

She is just another Becky or Mick&Lou type character brought on to wreak havoc then disappear.

They should focus more on long term characters, many of them have been relegated to bit part characters doing the same routine over and over. Kirk is stupid, Gemma is vulgar, Mary is scatty, Nina is an ethereal gothic pixie flitting around the cafe. It is all meant to be hilarious but frankly a bit tedious and furthermore a complete waste.

Kevin is definitely on the brink. He’ll either kill Carl or himself ; ( or attempt to )
