It's all happening in the street!

Todd continues to be abused and manipulated by nasty Theo.

Carla is being kept hostage by evil Undead Becky the Bay City Roller! Lisa (Swain) is pining for Carla who she thinks has gone away on holiday, (but Lisa still did the deed with Undead Becky!)

Nasty Ma Driscoll has been turfed out of The Rovers Return by her son Ben, after her horrible Christmas day stunt of revealing to everyone that Eva has had an abortion.

Will Driscoll is jealous of Daniel 'dating' his attractive older woman (well, she's around 28, but is still older compared to him as he is still at school! And to make things worse she is his sports coach!)

Costello has been beaten up and is still in hospital.

Tall Kit and Sarah Platt are still an item.

Shona is not far off having hers and David Platt's baby.

DeeDee's left the show after conveniently being offered a high flying lawyer job in Singapore!

Carl, the Chuckle Brother has been getting down and dirty with James Bailey (again!) whilst Abi is totally oblivious. She is also oblivious to the fact that Carl is trying to find a way to move away from her (abroad) even though Abi has left Kevin for him (and took her son too!) Some may say it serves her right! 😬

Evelyn has come back again - hopefully for good this time!

I stopped watching when the new Rovers lot came in so I'm just back to catch up ahead of Corriedale.

Seems from all your comments that little has moved forward since I last watched. I really wish soaps [I only watch two] would move away from this model of having very long-running, tedious storylines.

To be fair, I think corrie has actually been very watchable lately. A bit silly in places, but I look forward to each episode in the hopes that Theo, Undead Becky and Ma Driscoll are all going to die horrible deaths.

Yes agreed - the Becky and Theo storylines seem have been going on forever, and now they've added evil Ma Driscoll to annoy us. But it is a lot more palatable in the 30 minute format.

Becky is a ridiculous character - Theo on the other hand is very believable, which makes him far more sinister. It’s uncomfortable to watch but still the best storyline for me.

I agree. I can well imagine someone like Todd being treated so dreadfully by someone like Theo. Superb writing and acting by both. The Becky storyline has been unbelievable from the off. Sooner that ends the better.

Given that Theo was dismissive of Todd when they first met, it's interesting that he sensed he could bully and control this one and decided to start something.

Aren't there some TV awards coming up in January? I wonder if they'll play out the Todd/Theo storyline by then, in the hope of winning the 'nastiest character in Soap' award - or whatever it's called.

I saw this in a popular chain restaurant the other week when I met 2 mates for lunch. On the toilet door (on the inside...) What worries me now though, is that it's becoming well known. I showed it to DH (I took a photo of it,) and I didn't say anything. He said 'oh, that's the thing that women say if they're being abused isn't it, to ask for help?' So it's out there now. (We had seen it on a drama earlier in the year too! Gogglebox were showing clips of the show, and 5 or 6 of them on there said 'oh that's the cry for help for a woman!')

So they need a new one!

And yes, there needs to be one for men.

My 16 year old dd who has mild sen has started watching with me and she loves it, especially scenes with Maggie in it. She doesn't usually watch tv at all, i can only conclude that she enjoys it because it is now pure pantomime with no nuance or subtlety at all, the very reason why my older dd can no longer bear to watch it. I am actually enjoying it atm though because younger dd is loving it so much.

Well she is sort of dead

There have been plenty of absurd aspects to Theo's story but there are also parts that seem like a convincing portrayal of a messed up closet case. He reminds me of someone I once knew who was in deep denial of his homosexuality. I have never known anyone come back from the dead and if I did I am not sure they would be much like Becky. I can say with certainty that if I went to all that bother of coming back from the dead I would do so with a much better haircut.

So will DS Swain arrest Carla tonight?

I am assuming undead Becky is going to cause the accident that results in Corriedale. Possibly chasing after Carla.
