It's all happening in the street!

Todd continues to be abused and manipulated by nasty Theo.

Carla is being kept hostage by evil Undead Becky the Bay City Roller! Lisa (Swain) is pining for Carla who she thinks has gone away on holiday, (but Lisa still did the deed with Undead Becky!)

Nasty Ma Driscoll has been turfed out of The Rovers Return by her son Ben, after her horrible Christmas day stunt of revealing to everyone that Eva has had an abortion.

Will Driscoll is jealous of Daniel 'dating' his attractive older woman (well, she's around 28, but is still older compared to him as he is still at school! And to make things worse she is his sports coach!)

Costello has been beaten up and is still in hospital.

Tall Kit and Sarah Platt are still an item.

Shona is not far off having hers and David Platt's baby.

DeeDee's left the show after conveniently being offered a high flying lawyer job in Singapore!

Carl, the Chuckle Brother has been getting down and dirty with James Bailey (again!) whilst Abi is totally oblivious. She is also oblivious to the fact that Carl is trying to find a way to move away from her (abroad) even though Abi has left Kevin for him (and took her son too!) Some may say it serves her right! 😬

Evelyn has come back again - hopefully for good this time!

Yes, the new girl (woman) at the end is Shona's sister. Looks very similar, but younger by maybe 10-12 years.

Phelans daughter who has a child with lovely Gary is in Bristol? Or Billy guided the surgeon to Roy's? Or the surgeon is an ex of Billy? I hope Billy has a lovely funeral.

It was good to see a quiet episode with people mourning Billy. David is always good value, and I liked the surgeon and the naming. I’m glad they didn’t leave us wondering too long about what most of us guessed, that Jodie is Shona’s sister. Does Shona know she’s got a sister?

It seemed as if the surgeon was a one off appearance, but how did he know Billy was gay? Did he know him somehow? In reality he could have seen the story online and know that way, but since it was mentioned as odd by Bernie, presumably it is going to turn out to actually be odd.. I liked him so I wouldn’t mind him returning.

I assumed it was a journalist trying to get info. He was a nice surgeon. If Mr Lee moves to Lithuania he could take his job and live in a posh apartment. With Dr Gadass.

Could someone explain the significance of the name Harper, please? I thought I must be missing some subtle wordplay at first, but that seemed unlikely in the context.

I think the surgeon’s name was Mr Harper.

Ooh... I wonder if he's an ex of Billy's! He could become Summer's 5th dad then.

Is Shona in Weatherfield? I thought she was still in there crash hospital.

I haven’t seen tonight’s, but last night David wheeled her out in a wheelchair and said they were going to Weatherfield for the surgery, so I assume they’re back home.

Could Mr Harper be Summer's bio dad? Drew adopted her, didn't he?

Also, how did he arrive late for a 10am surgery, carry out said complicated surgery, hang around in the hospital chatting to people and make it back to the café by lunch time? Soap timelines make no sense.

I knew David would call the baby Harper once the doc said it was his birthday too. I hope they do a proper investigation into the crash and prove that Debbie wasn't driving, despite her claiming that she was.
i thought it was a good episode.

Somewhere out there (it came up on my FB) is a clip of Kirk (C) and Sam (E ) at the hospital together trying to work out the hospital map !

For scenes to played out with opposite characters of each soap .

We have seen Ken and Eric Carla and Charity.

Nicola and Roy were in the running as well .

I enjoyed that episode, it was well paced with just a few characters. It felt like they were making a statement about the new direction of the show now we are back to half hour episodes.

That was a good episode. I did wonder if sonda and David would call their baby Billie but Harper made sense.

Yea I wondered if they’d call her Billie too, even as a nod to Sarah and Tod’s son as well as Billy vicar. But then I remembered they already have a Lily so Lily and Billie might have been too much!

I do surveys for YouGov and occasionally it's about Corrie, which I presume are commissioned. I always put that Gemma, Chesney and quads should go, but sadly they're still here!

Production values seem a lot slicker with the shorter episodes, which I think work well.

I'm sorry Billy's gone, I liked him. I was hoping that he'd rescue Todd and they would get together again.
I suppose Theo is going to get angry with Todd grieving.

They moved Shona back to Weatherfield General, centre of excellence, David talked about the horrible journey in the ambulance.

I am all for Mr Harper making a return. As long as he isn’t yet another villain. We got rid of Becky but we still have Carl and Theo, we don’t need another one. If he is an ex of Billy's, he could be Todd's new partner in a year's time.

I thought last night's episode was great. Well paced, great acting (particularly by Jack P Shepherd), calm and no silly melodramatics - although the "Shona's sister" thing is a bit silly...

If this is a sign of how Corrie's going to be now it's 1/2 hour episodes, then I'm all for it.
