It's all happening in the street!

Todd continues to be abused and manipulated by nasty Theo.

Carla is being kept hostage by evil Undead Becky the Bay City Roller! Lisa (Swain) is pining for Carla who she thinks has gone away on holiday, (but Lisa still did the deed with Undead Becky!) Hmm

Nasty Ma Driscoll has been turfed out of The Rovers Return by her son Ben, after her horrible Christmas day stunt of revealing to everyone that Eva has had an abortion.

Will Driscoll is jealous of Daniel 'dating' his attractive older woman (well, she's around 28, but is still older compared to him as he is still at school! And to make things worse she is his sports coach!)

Costello has been beaten up and is still in hospital.

Tall Kit and Sarah Platt are still an item.

Shona is not far off having hers and David Platt's baby.

DeeDee's left the show after conveniently being offered a high flying lawyer job in Singapore!

Carl, the Chuckle Brother has been getting down and dirty with James Bailey (again!) whilst Abi is totally oblivious. She is also oblivious to the fact that Carl is trying to find a way to move away from her (abroad) even though Abi has left Kevin for him (and took her son too!) Some may say it serves her right! 😬

Evelyn has come back again - hopefully for good this time!

I have probably missed some stuff! But we can catch up later! :)

I am more than happy never to hear about Brian's Italian cousin ever again

I agree, it was a storyline that reeked of desperation.

Gingercar · 03/01/2026 10:55

I can’t say I’m looking forward to Corriedale, I think it’s a stupid idea. But I imagine Asha is going to find her Paramedic calling again. Hopefully a few baddies will extinguish themselves too.

Yep, she was as annoying as hell. 😆

Mind you, so was Brian when he found her via 'Ancestry' or whatever it was. Kept babbling on about him being 'part Italian.' 🙄

Last time I watched Emmerdale it were all fields!
How will we know who is who do I even care

Kit is being a bit silly telling Sarah who Becky is
Why does she looked so scrubbed and drab when she is with Kit?

He needs her detective skills.

Weatherplod can never solve and crime without help from civilians

I thought it was funny the other week when he was telling her he could not tell her stuff when he had been telling everyone else for weeks

I agree, it was a storyline that reeked of desperation.

Not to mention cheap national stereotypes reminiscent of 'Mind your language' in the 70s

I agree. It was bad. And Brian was very annoying banging on about how he is 'Italian.' Turned out he was only 8% Italian!

Brian's Italian cousin was summer 2023, (I just looked her up.) I would have sworn it was about a year ago.

Also, 2025 was not great at all - IMO - up to this past 2-3 months...

I remember back in the summer, I had been fed up with it for a while (constant crime, jail scenes, borstal boys, so many hospital scenes, etc,) and it was nothing like the Coronation Street we all know and love. No warmth or humour ANYwhere...

I said if it doesn't pick up by the new year 2026, I am bailing (after 45 years.) Mick and Lou had just joined and were thoroughly loathesome... It wasn't on for 2 weeks, (when the football was on,) and I seriously didn't miss it one bit. I hadn't even realised it hadn't been on for 2 weeks, because I didn't care.

This past couple of months, I have actually been looking forward to the next episode, and excited about watching it!

Thank goodness. Because it made me a bit sad that it had got so shit!

You can tell that people are enjoying it again, as the threads are filling up fast! 430 posts in in 8 days! Most Coronation Street threads in the first 9 months of 2025, were taking 3-4 weeks to get to this point.

The previous speculation about Debbie being Carl's mum has certainly surfaced lately. So many clues pointing to it, I hope Corriedale provides some answers.

zanahoria · 03/01/2026 11:26

Kev's wedding reveal was hilarious with him stood there flummoxed and angry but his video self demonstrating his lesser spotted fun side

I knew it would go wrong but the dance video took me by surprise - pure genius

I think Billy is only person in Corrie history to ever demonstrate basic IT skills. he was straight to the recycle bin.

Ohhhhhhh, will there be a "you ain't my muvva" moment 😂

NCTDN · 03/01/2026 13:52

I think the next episode is the cross over which we will need to watch to make sense of the next Corrie? So before that, can anyone clarify the whereabouts of Carla now?

the80sweregreat · 03/01/2026 13:54

Where has Carla gone ? Becky has made Betsy and Lisa give up their old phones too .. you’d think that a cop would be a bit suspicious of her insisting on this ?

I vaguely remember a scene after Becky heard Kit telling Lisa the What3words theory in the hospital, (which was the flat location I think cos when he got there Carla was gone), where Becky had obviously moved Carla and was looking down at some sort of bloodied blankets but can’t remember if they were in the back of a car or outside somewhere - it seemed implied Carla was in them. I’m really hoping they are not killing off Carla though.

Gingercar · 03/01/2026 17:45

I wouldn’t be surprised if Carla is in some “not had my medicine” related coma in the back of the car that is in the Corriedale accident.

And while Swain seemed a reasonable cop initially, she has proven to be ridiculously gullible- particularly when it comes to Becky. I’m assuming there’s going to be some big reunion with a half dead Carla when Berky’s evilness is revealed and she’s banged up. But really Carla should give her a big swerve!

Edited

I’d never seen him play the piano either.

when does he ever practice

Shellingbynight · 03/01/2026 18:31

Debbie looked lovely and Ronnie looked fab. I always love the ‘group ladies’ scenes but thought it worked better on the hen night (although I have no idea why Bernie is included). But the wedding felt a bit flat. There was too much other plot going on.

Too many storylines reaching a crescendo - Carl, Becky, Theo. Half the show seems to exist of abusive relationships. Surely all of those storylines must be reaching the end, it's very odd plotting but it whiffs of having to align things for Corriedale.

It’s too much to hope that all three of them will die in the crash, but surely Becky will.

Thistooshallpass. · 03/01/2026 18:33

I’m really not looking forward to this Corriedale mash up .. don’t watch emmerdale and never have done so how am I supposed to know what’s going on ?! Yet it seems if you watch corrie this is part of the ongoing story .
Anyway from the corrie side I’m seeing Debbie definitely being Carl’s mum. Theo doing harm to Billy and fingers crossed Becky , Betsey and Swain getting caught in some terrible accident never to return .
If the driscolls and the sports coach woman could also be involved in some awful situation that involved leaving all the better .

Middlemarch123 · 03/01/2026 19:10

I’m looking forward to Corriedale, because I watch both soaps. Just read an interview with Jack P Shepherd in Metro, where he says that Emmerdale does the best stunts of any of the soaps, and he’s so right. I think it will be good. Both Corrie and Emmerdale have been building up to Monday, and it’s been drawn out, so hopefully it will culminate in storylines in both soaps reaching conclusions.

AmusedMaker · 03/01/2026 19:20

I’m counting down the hours til Monday - loving coronation street at the moment. 😃

SabreIsMyFave · 03/01/2026 19:46

It's just come to me who Undead Becky reminded me of, the other night, just before she pulled the balaclava over her face. 😂

I read somewhere that the producers say you don't need to watch both to understand what’s going on. Corrie fans will concentrate on ‘their’ characters, same with Emmerdale and it won’t matter. We’ll wait and see!

Daytimetellyqueen · 04/01/2026 00:58

Caught up earlier - loved the wedding (minus the fight & Theo!) & especially the dementia choir & Debbie singing. Really wish she didn’t have dementia as don’t want Debbie to leave!

I’m certain she’s his mum why else have they bothered to bring his dead mum into it having us never known of her ? Then Debbie lying about having heard about her? Nah this is all leading up to something not sure what though lol

AmusedMaker · 04/01/2026 08:58

Agree that there was too much going on at the wedding, a few punches between Kevin & Carl would have been enough ( & not that unusual at weddings 😆 ) but the whole ‘exposing’ Carl in front of everyone was just silly ( and Kevin definitely looks unwell ) also, Theo would definitely have noticed that Todd & Billy were missing as he watches every move Todd makes, yet he left them both alone in the hotel room for quite a while.
Cassie looked lovely.
They seem to be putting together the same group of characters a lot now, Debbie, Bernie, Sally, Christina & Glenda, maybe because they’re all around the same age? I did laugh when Christina kept accidentally turning on the hand dryer, it looked unscripted and the sort of thing I’d do 😆

Shellingbynight · 04/01/2026 09:34

It's great they now have a group of middle aged women regularly interacting as friends, it used to be a major element in Corrie years ago so I'm glad they have revived that tradition.

I agree it was really weird that Billy and Todd were left alone for so long, normally Theo is no more than two steps away. It is also quite weird that Todd brought the laptop with him. What with that and the Becky scenes they really overloaded the episode.
