Yes is Marler, that doesn't sound the same as Marlow in my (English) accent. It struck me that a spelling mistake in a name was very Traitors appropriate.

If I were celeb putting myself out there into everyone front room night after night I'd have checked if Niko was spelt with a K or C if Clare Balding is Clare with or without and I (or indeed an e) if Stephen Fry has a Ph or a V and any other potential mix ups were hiding in people names.

It is a bit of a running joke on Traitors about the misspelling of names. I wonder if some of them are doing it deliberately for the viewing “Faithful”.

Half the fun of the round table is the absolute bastardising of names on the blackboards.
I presume that's why Niko voted for Tom Daylee 😆

How/why do they recruit new traitors?

When a traitor is banished the remaining traitors have the option to recruit another one or stay as they are.

Checking in

Recruitment is done by letter - the same as the murders. When there is only 1 Traitor left they can do a forced recruitment where the letter says “if you don’t agree to being a Traitor you have to leave the game immediately”.

Recruited Traitors can be useful in 2 ways:

1. if you recruit someone who has already got heat on them you can throw them under the bus at the Round Table so the Faithful feel like they’re winning; or
2. if you recruit someone who has really established themselves as a Faithful they help to ensure that the Traitors can get to the Final.

The Faithful don’t always know that someone has been recruited - the obvious clue is that no one gets murdered one night but the Traitors can use Shields as cover - if whoever has the Shield is unknown to everyone (like last night with the group in the woods) they can pretend that the person targeted for murder was protected by their Shield.

Of course the real problem starts when someone turns down recruitment and then tells everyone the next day!
