I love this series, one of my all time favourites and a new series starts on Thursday. Lovely feel good tv, and a real sign of Autumn when a new one lands.

Oh I know this one! A Barghest is a big, wild and terrifying dog from stories of old, my grandfather used to tell a tale of one roaming the moors attacking flocks before being chased - into the sea maybe.
He was a Yorkshire man and part of the reason I watch all creatures!

Really enjoyed tonight's, it did seem odd that Helen was living back at her dad's. But think I read somewhere that Rachel S who plays her, has had a baby, so maybe it was a way of giving her fewer scenes, if she had time away.

Who is Arthur?

I was surprised to see Edward (Mrs Hall's son) alive and well. At the end of the last series he had survived a shipwreck and was in a hospital in Singapore I think. I looked it up and nearly everyone in that hospital was taken prisoner and/or killed by the Japanese. The script writers must have taken pity on Mrs Hall!

I particularly enjoyed tonight's episode because DH and I are on holiday in the Yorkshire Dales at the moment and a couple of days ago we were in Grassington (Darrowby) so we recognised a lot of the buildings around the market square, including Skeldale House.

Just hopping in because I am a fan too despite the rats...I was worried they would end up with an extra one!
