I love this series, one of my all time favourites and a new series starts on Thursday. Lovely feel good tv, and a real sign of Autumn when a new one lands.

It’s five mins of pantomime followed by ten minutes of ads. So disappointing.

So Mrs P has moved house? There’s too much change and no explanation!

It was pretty disappointing and badly written. I was really looking forward to it ☹️

Mrs P must still be in the cottage on her estate and Pumfrey Manor still a hospital.

I'm thoroughly enjoying it and like the way the characters have matured. It all seems so natural too, a delightful series.

Did anyone else notice Geoffrey intently watching his trainer just out of shot when James was talking to Sister Rose in her garden? 🐶

I hope things will improve now Siegfried has done his apology rounds and had a word with himself.

The theme music for this version isn't a patch on that of the original.

I enjoyed that; things are changing, the post war world will be different.
Sister Rose was excellent, witty and good humoured, and I had to laugh at the idea of breeding from Tricki Woo!

There was a point last night where Siegfried reminded me of Sir Lancelot Spratt.

Ah yes! Very similar characters.

Exactly Sir Lancelot! We have a local council employee who brings his peke to work. Baby Trickis would be very cute.

Does it have favoured uncles?

He wanders along the main street with no lead. People who don't keep their dogs on leads near traffic annoy me.
Sister Rose wouldn't stand for it.

Not much motorised traffic in Darrowby, though.

This series is a bit OTT. Ludicrous business with Siegfried’s amorous escapade, heavy handed stuff with Mrs H exploring his emotional damage, with the help of Sister Rose’s dog parable.

Still enjoying it though.

Nothing about Arthur this week.

Oh, and meant to say: The rat was called Gerald last week! And his little moustache pointed out! Poor Audrey.

That was genuinely a funny moment!

I always found it irritating that James didn’t have a Scottish accent in the original series.
