The pods reopen on Wednesday

Wondering if the usual posters will join me again!

Netflix pace just means if an episode is available on Netflix it’s fair game to discuss but if you have spoilers from the internet or socials please don’t post them until the series ends

Hard agree that katisha is fragile 🥺

The reunion seemed so awkward and tense tbh, as though there was a horrible energy in the air

It must take a specific type to want to appear in a reality show? I couldn’t do it. It is weird. There must be aspects of it that are really fun - getting to go on holiday on the tv company’s coin, having them pay for the wedding etc. But what most of the “contestants” have been through must seriously mess with your mental health. And perhaps many of them were quite fragile in that regard from the start.

Katisha strikes me as having quite low self esteem. She comes across as someone who has endured a lot of pain. Many would have given up on Javen long before she did. Likewise Ashleigh with Billy. I can see why Sarover was hoodwinked because Kal said all the right things - even her beady eyed mum was taken in.

Yes! I've always thought the premise of a lot of shows seem great fun, eg Come Dine With Me, but I'd never ever go on them, due to the "being on TV" aspect. It just terrifies me that literally anything you say can haunt you for the rest of your life. So to then add the dimension that it's to do with intimate, personal relationships is mind-blowing to me

I saw a clip of an interview on Instagram, and it was Kal, Jed, Javin, and Billy. Kal said that the women had all applied whereas the men had all been approached by the production team through social media. I assume he wasn’t talking about all the men and women in the show, so maybe just the final couples, or maybe just the four couples those four men were in. I also assume he wasn’t lying.

Yes, the presence of Matt and Emma Willis meant something quite dark was being squeezed into the light entertainment mould. It’s quite bizarre when you think about it.

That accounts for the gulf in expectations

Women : Looking for the one

Men : I’ve been asked to go on telly

Are no men looking for The One? 😔

I think Ashleigh fully intended to step down from her role eventually. Probably intended to get pregnant and then an office role would be found for her like pretty much every other airstwewardess that’s settled down. But she couldn’t do that in the first few months of marriage. And she couldn’t exactly say that in the early stages of dating.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 11/09/2025 20:24

There are interviews with various cast members on YouTube. Javen, Sophie, Aanu, Jed, Damola.

The US version starts on the 1st

Anyone watching the French version? 👀

SaratogaFilly · 14/09/2025 11:38

Oh no, is it good? It is dubbed or sub-titled?

TheLudditesWereRight · 14/09/2025 12:16

I am watching with subtitles. OMG so much drama

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 14/09/2025 14:03

I’m considering it

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 14/09/2025 15:27

@TheLudditesWereRight can you link to it here? I’ve only got my phone on me at the moment and I never link on my phone in case I accidentally share!

There’s an interview with Kieran and Meg on the “We need to talk” podcast with Paul Brunson, really good interview with lots of behind the scenes info. They seem really happy together.

I’m partway through watching the French version as well, it’s so dramatic compared to the UK version! By comparison everyone was so nice and polite to each other in the UK one (well, to their faces at least!)
