btw don't know if it's been mentioned, but if anyone's interest has been at all piqued by the Kneecap controversy, I highly recommend their film, Kneecap which is a loose account of their origin story. It's funny and poignant and quite charismatic (and features Michael Fassbender!)

Whether Rod is your cup of tea or not you have to admire his longevity. I wonder if any of the current crop of artists will still be rocking Glasto in 50 years from now.

Can't imagine Charlie xcx doing this when she's 80!

Appalonia · 29/06/2025 16:36

The wigs and leopard print in the audience are funny!

MrsDeanAmbrose · 29/06/2025 16:36

Just catching up on Raye. She’s fabulous!

Fibrous · 29/06/2025 16:37

Time for something a bit heavier while I wait for Goat - checking out Turnstile on the Other stage.

greengreyblue · 29/06/2025 16:37

Saw Rod at the old Wembley stadium in the early 90s and he was great. Can’t believe he’s still up for this! I like his earlier stuff. Can’t bear the old American songbook stuff.

Westfacing · 29/06/2025 16:38

Geez, my heart just flipped when Rodders said.... here she is 'Christine McVie' Sad

greengreyblue · 29/06/2025 16:39

Jeez his voice is gone!

On iplayer but click on the pyramid stage link for Rodders. Love the dancing Penny Lancasters 😆 Rod looks knackered 👀

Dancing Pennys! 👏😂.
I thought it was a bit old hat but he’s just paid tribute to the great Christine McVie so fair play for that.

😥 RIP Christine.

I remember her as Christine Perfect - that's how old I am!

greengreyblue · 29/06/2025 16:43

Funny watching the dancing violinists . Those that dance naturally and those just stepping .

Romeiswheretheheartis · 29/06/2025 16:44

Just nipped out to collect dd and come back to find them all in different outfits!

Appalonia · 29/06/2025 16:45

Aw seeing such a huge, happy crowd enjoying themselves in the sun has made me well up a bit...!

afaloren · 29/06/2025 16:49

I’m happy to see the Djo love on this thread!

Rod gone off for a sit down I see.

SweetBaklava · 29/06/2025 16:50

The Pennys are well able to sing! 😄

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 29/06/2025 16:52

Is Rod hoping to grow into the pink suit?

It will be Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi, won’t it?

The Pennys are well able to sing! 😄

Someone on the other Glasto thread said one of them is his daughter Ruby.

DJSteves · 29/06/2025 16:54

Maybe Sam Fender

BestIsWest · 29/06/2025 16:55

Rods version of this always makes me cry. It’s probably my favourite of his along with ‘You’re in my Heart’.

Westfacing · 29/06/2025 16:57

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 29/06/2025 16:52

IMO, he looks better in the pink suit - nothing more aging than an old geezer/gal with skinny legs in skinny jeans.

I speak as a 70 year-old with skinny legs! 😂

Is this their Elton John/George Michael moment?

C8H10N4O2 · 29/06/2025 16:59

Rod isn’t really my bag but in general the old and middle aged lags just have amazing crowd management/engagement. They play the crowd like fiddles so nobody cares if the voices are a bit flakey because the crowd so obviously is having a great time.
