looks similar to house doctor if anyone remembers that with Ann Maurice

I used to love that

anyway this is a new programme taking over location x3 spot

brother and sister Scarlett and Stuart Douglas help home owners who are struggling to sell their homes

Sorry haven’t seen it yet. I’m away. I meant to say e6 on tonight

I like the couple presenting it , but the format is so samey and I still can’t believe that a EA wouldn’t say ( gently ) get a new carpet! Although I know flooring isn’t cheap to buy or have laid properly, but if that’s all it takes along with some paint, then it’s not that rude to point it out to them in order to get people round.
Maybe it’s just not the done thing ..

the80sweregreat · 07/08/2025 16:26

I quite liked the blue in one house , it was different but it was very bright I suppose and more neutral colours are in at the moment. The actual sizes of some of these places is amazing , I am shocked that people can’t see beyond a bit of painting when they are getting so much space for their money.

deeahgwitch · 07/08/2025 16:36

I too can’t understand how people can’t see beyond the decor @the80sweregreat
Have they no vision 🙄
Most people where I live gut the house, after they’ve bought it.
If a house comes up for sale in our area, as sure as eggs are eggs there’s a skip outside in no time and builder’s lorries and trucks up and down. Then come the plumbers, electricians etc.

the80sweregreat · 07/08/2025 17:02

The house with the blue decor ( last night’s one) had lovely big rooms and looked clean and tidy. The people they have round are only there to pick it apart , it’s so obvious they are told what to say, but maybe I’m a cynic! I can see why some houses are seen as bad, but a few are not that bad and yes , the minute they sell here the builders move in / skips and the trades all show up making a racket !

mydogisthebest · 07/08/2025 18:28

I think the people who view the houses and make comments are just very rude and ignorant.

Talking about the ornaments and dark furniture. They are not buying either of those things are they? Also that woman saying she would not "touch the house with a barge pole"! I know what I would like to do with a barge pole if she said that about my house.

Yes the red carpet was too much but we bought a house with far worse carpet because we liked the house and, surprise, we changed the flooring. Also pine kitchen cupboards are dated but many people still have them and they looked in good condition so could just be painted.

KassandraOfSparta · 07/08/2025 18:32

To be fair, the are probable told to be controversial for the telly and are much more polite in real life.

booksnbaking · 08/08/2025 00:08

Useless bit of trivia: One of Stuart’s house critics, Rita (long curly hair, red lipstick, glasses) was last spotted selling her stepfather’s clock collection on Millionaire Hoarders (ep. 2/5).

Turmerictolly · 08/08/2025 06:05

I think some of the comments are a bit insensitive. Several of these houses have belonged to fairly recently deceased people (or their partners) and the families are selling cherished homes with memories.
Unfortunately it is very true that most people can’t see past the decor.

CottageGoblin · 09/08/2025 08:25

I love this because I really miss Location.

did anyone else notice though that it says
“house prices true of 2023”, so it goes to show how long ago it was films. Kind of blew my mind

JustFeedMeCake · 09/08/2025 10:59

Pink house - I don’t think they are vulnerable at all. They’re very sweet but also very lazy with no sense of urgency and no taste. The garden was an easy fix. Laziness. The door missing was disgusting tbh.

The dog couple, I felt sorry for the husband. He seemed so tired of it all . She was ridiculous, “even if I don’t want it or like it I’ll buy it” they knew perfectly well why their home didn’t sell.

I loved House Doctor too so this is great. Easy watching and I love the presenters!

the80sweregreat · 09/08/2025 12:48

A lot of the property progs on are either 2019 or 2022 prices . they need some new ones

Agreed. The red carpet one, people are just so rude. Poor lady 🥺

CottageGoblin · 12/08/2025 12:43

i actually said to my DH what did the makers have to gain from showing the comments to the current owners. I think it’s a bit needlessly mean

the80sweregreat · 12/08/2025 13:10

They could have just read out the comments to the sellers instead of showing them the actual footage.
Although they would have seen the programme later on I suppose .. just might have been kinder at the time after they sold !

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/08/2025 16:59

Finally caught up. Didn’t relieae 6 was the last one

shame they don’t speak to the eState Agents

they must say paint - declutter - get rid of doggy smells - change flooring If awful etx

Kindness is nice but in these cases they'd needed brutal honesty
