Just catching up now. OMG, they really need to replace Ian Stirling as the 'voiceover.' He is so unfunny. 😖 WTF did 'I've got an uncle Harrison who works in Hollywood. Good old Harrison Afford!' even mean? Like all of his 'jokes' and 'jibes' it didn't even make sense. He was OK to start with (for the first few seasons of L.I.) but he's drab, boring, and unfunny now.

Re: last night's episode. I am literally getting so bored now of the constant arguments and rows It was entertaining to start with, but it's just getting dull and old now, and I'm finding myself fast forwarding a few of the scenes a bit.

I'm interested to see if Ben instigates chats with any of the girls (Helena maybe?) now that him and Shakira are in the friends zone. Or whether he's waiting it out for a bombshell! Ha ha, yes! I swear I had some clothes like that from River Island c.1990 but they at least matched. He did have a sense of humour about it though. I'm not Harry fan, but you can't imagine Ben or some other men in there laughing it off.

Actually yes, Harry’s willingness to experiment with their EBay wardrobe is quite endearing. (Or would be if he wasn’t such an immature scumbag.)

Surely not a single woman could be attracted to Ben? Again, it’s hard to comprehend the motivation of the producers in casting him - not everyone has to be clever, but his surly befuddlement must make him difficult to live with.

Harry's just treating the whole thing as a big piss take. I wouldn't like to involved with him but his carry on is making entertaining viewing especially when he's discussing his carry on with Dejon. He's making the most of getting a lot of screen time.

Toni and Shakira did not come across well last night.

Love island doesn’t have a great record of giving screen time to couples that include a Black woman so that could be it too. It’s been called out a lot on Twitter during other seasons. Happens almost every year! I don’t know if it’s just racial bias or what.

Unless they start having drama and showing signs of breaking up, then producers are quick to spotlight them right before a vote for favourite couple 😂

Ben and Connor?

Connor was with Helena initially and it didn’t work out. Remember he “hates blondes”. He left Toni for Emily and was never that keen on her.

I don’t think Ben finds Helena attractive and it didn’t work out for him either when he was coupled with Toni.

To be fair the same could be said for any couple? They rarely just show a couple happily loved up after the first few "get to know each other" chats? It's all drama and fights that get the air time.

Of course some people get more/less screen time than others in general for various reasons. Same with all reality shows any of course there is the pesky editing etc

But what I’m talking about here is different.

I can’t remember all the various names and seasons but there’s definitely been a consistent pattern of them not showing couples which have a black woman in them specifically - even if they’re coupled with a non-Black man.

There have been a couple of exceptions like the season where Whitney came second.

They have definitely got better, probably as a result of the multiple social media call outs.
So let’s see if Alima makes an appearance soon.

Last night had zero context for us and I feel like that’s a producer issue - something has been brewing but they haven’t shown it. Malisha said on social media apparently that she agreed with Toni and Shakira because Emily had been unkind during that recoupling, so potentially issues have been building but we have seen nothing but the fall out. I’m not defending, I’ll be honest, I think nearly all the girls have behaved despicably this year, only one of them hasn’t name called and bitched about one of the other girls and that’s Alima, who is stand out. They’ve got a really bad problem with the girl on girl attitudes this year - pinch each other men all you want, but the commenting on personalities and looks and yelling at each other is too much

Alima and Remell are pretty unexciting though as a couple. He locked onto her instantly as a safe bet and gives little away, though things like him ‘not liking girls to have male friends’ don’t speak well of him. She’s more interesting when with the other girls but I don’t see much going on between them to earn screen time. Sure if there was they’d show it. I get the historic issue but it has changed over time and I think people know how to get screen time now and it ain’t by sitting back and sticking it out low key with the relatively easy option.

I think the PP did mean Shae and Connor btw, not Ben, though all of them should be targeting the available women, and the women too. They can’t rely on bombshells.

On another note, I want to see how Tommy reacts on Sunday - Connor is blatantly going to kiss Megan and I wonder if he will lose it again. If he doesn’t, I will eat my words, but I have a feeling he is a bit of a red flag. He lost his shit before, he wasn’t composed at all and whenever anyone else talks to Megan he’s all edgy. I think he is insecure and maybe a tad jealous. I might be wrong, I hope I am! But I feel like he’s potentially trouble underneath.

In the background last night, Shae was talking to Shakira alone and they both seemed to be laughing loads before she got involved in the scrap, so chats are going on but we only see ‘those’ chats
