Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

@Shellingbynight
Yes I watched episode where Cindy shot & injured Ian's arm, she was angry thinking that Ian had tried to kill her, the plot thickens, I can't believe I'm writing this as if it's real ! Cindy treated Ian like a spare part, but Ian kept going back for more. Kathy has a constant hatred for Cindy, and she's no better, as her actions at Christmas reflect.
My favourite characters are still Sharon, Kim, and Priya has grown on me, she seems like a fun person and nobody's fool.

Shellingbynight · 04/04/2025 15:28

lol @Bluesandwhites yes I know what you mean about treating it as if it's real! But we have known these characters for so long it almost seems like they are😆

Cindy is doubtless going to return for more 'revenge'.

I love Priya although I do have a problem (which I manage to put to one side!) about her lack of parenting of Avani.

Shellingbynight · 04/04/2025 15:31

As the link I posted is clearly never going to be posted (no idea why, it was a link to OK magazine!) it was a pic of Louisa when she was about 18 with lovely teeth which don't look the same as she looks now. The veneers make her teeth look like they are too big for her mouth.

Sharon spent ages with Michelle after Keanu died so I agree it’s a bit strange that it’s being portrayed as Michelle resenting her.

Shellingbynight · 05/04/2025 14:30

Yes it was only about a year ago that Sharon spent several weeks with Michelle. So how come she didn't already know Vicki had left Spencer? I think Vicki said they split up two years ago?

My cod psychology after watching Martin’s funeral is that having grown up as the son of the martyr who was Pauline, Martin was only attracted to self absorbed women! He became a martyr himself come to think of it.

The thing is in Walford they seem to write all female characters to be rather self absorbed don’t they? So he never stood a chance 😂

Shellingbynight · 07/04/2025 08:12

I was thinking something similar last week. Obviously Stacey and Ruby are nightmarishly self absorbed, but also the way Sonia was going on about Martin last week you would have thought he was the love of her life - she left him ten years ago!

Itisjustmyopinion · 07/04/2025 12:42

The more I watched the funeral the more irrationally angry I got at Ruby’s behaviour around it. Why should it have been what she wanted when she was only with him for 2 mins and hid his child for years. Even the blue around the Daddy floral, he didn’t just have a son

It should have been Bex and Ian as his actual family that should have been organising it and in real life I would have a few choice words for Ruby if I was Bex

Good job on the writers for making Ruby even more unlikeable than she always was since she has come back

Shellingbynight · 07/04/2025 13:18

They really did a number on Ruby this time round, they threw her under the bus so we could all feel sorry for Saint Stacey. Bex wasn't there to organise the funeral, and neither was Stacey.

Have they ever said who paid for it? It would be £££.

Shellingbynight · 07/04/2025 16:52

I've just watched. Typical EastEnders funeral, there has to be a row and a fight. I'm surprised it wasn't actually at the graveside. I was surprised that after such a lengthy build up I found it quite boring.

I am not surprised Lily was so angry with Stacey. She would be even angrier if she knew it really was Stacey's fault.

It was quite a strange that neither Lily nor Sharon were at the burial. I didn't believe either of them would miss it.

Anyonecanfallinlove · 07/04/2025 17:00

I've just watched today's episode, the first I've watched since Martins death. He deserved better, Sharon and Lily should have been there!
It still surprises me that Eastenders use a real life undertakers and have done for many years. They are based local to me and they have done every funeral I've ever been to, including close family. It's surreal mixing fiction with real life

Southeastdweller · 07/04/2025 17:04

I was thinking how the hell could Martin's family pay for that funeral? Must be about £15 - 20K? Also there's no way the council would block off roads for a 'nobody'.

Shellingbynight · 07/04/2025 17:21

Ruby organised it so must have paid for it? They seem to have forgotten she was supposed to have lost all her money. It would have been very expensive, not something sorted out with a whip round in the market.

That's interesting about using real funeral directors. One of the routes I drive regularly takes me past the local cemetery, I have seen a few 'walking processions' but it's usually a funeral director walking in front of a car rather than horses. The roads aren't closed, the traffic backs up for a couple of miles behind them!

Anyonecanfallinlove · 07/04/2025 19:39

I thought you could apply to have a road closed? Or is that only for jubilees etc? We have definitely had roads closed locally for street parties.

Yes it is a real undertakers that they use for the funerals. I have been to one where they used the horses and carriage. We live rurally so there was no need to close the roads, it was a huge procession.

i was waiting for someone to remind Lily that he isn't even her actual dad.. she's behaving worse than Ruby imho. it wasn't so long back she was telling Martin he wasn't her dad and she was trying to go live with Ryan.

🥺 he's her dad for all intents and purposes though

The milk float thing is overdone now

Completely agree - can’t understand why it wasn’t Kathy & Ian (in Bex’s absence) who organised it all. Ruby needs to fuck off!

I actually think Lily is behaving perfectly understandably under the circumstances. She’s a child who has just lost her dad, is having to look after her siblings, has a baby to look after (although we never see her) and doesn’t seem to have any emotional support from the adults around her, including her mum. And to be honest, none of the things she said to Stacey were untrue.

Viewer23 · 07/04/2025 22:42

Also, I thought she only told Martin he wasn’t her real dad because at the time he was trying to pressure her to have an abortion.

She is acting childishly, but at the moment, she is the only one justified to act in that way because she is actually a child, unlike the others!

storminabuttercup · 08/04/2025 05:32

Just seen on the news that Patsy has entered the CBB house, I was sure she said in an interview she had to leave EE as LA was her home, feel a bit short changed now!

GoldMoon · 08/04/2025 06:44

@storminabuttercup

I think they go where the money is !

Viewer23 · 08/04/2025 07:22

The sad thing about Lily is that she will probably grow up to be just like Stacey as the cycle is repeating, Stacey was also a young carer for Jean after her dad died and Jean was also a neglectful parent to her.
