We have had Super Saturday, A good dozen songs are confirmed.

We have controversy in the song from Malta and the Maltese word for singing. Essentially the whole of Finland’s song is arguably even more controversial. Ireland are singing about the Russian dog sent to space in the 50s. Our band has possibly been leaked as a country girl group. Mans might be back for Sweden.

Anyone getting excited yet? Any opinions on the songs so far?

I like it.

my current top three are Italy, Czechia and Sweden. Lots of people have been saying it’s not a strong year but I have about 13 songs I want in my top 10 and another 6 that I like. Only three more to go.

There is an app - My Eurovision Scoreboard - on which you can put the songs in order to give them points and then see what points everyone has given them in total and the top three on there are Austra, Finland and Albania.

It’s really popular on Facebook groups. I have put it on my playlist based on the fan popularity and it’s ok - not massively growing on me but I don’t dislike it.

Not sure about Cyprus but with the right staging it could come across well. Not a winner however imo.

I have to revise my review of our song a bit, as my 18m toddler loves it, so the repeat listens have grown on me.

He is a Eurovision connoisseur whose fave is Dadi Freyr, and who sings along to Nemo, and has been taught the dance moves to Rim Tim Tagi Dim. Also big fan of the Reggae version of Cha Cha Cha. So I respect his opinion on these things.

My son loved Douwe Bob and sang him constantly age 18 months.

I do too and it's definitely a fan favourite. I was glad of it when we had slim pickings in the early part of this season.

Some of the recent internal selections plus Sweden have brought the quality up for me.

I'm randomly enjoying Germany right now too!

Louane is going to perform/reveal her song at half time in the Six Nations match France/Scotland on Saturday.

I wonder what the Venn diagram of Rugby fans and Eurovision fans looks like.

I quite like Cyprus. Another one to add to my growing top 10!

Hello @FeelTheRainOnYou ! My faves so far are Sweden and Estonia but I also like the Netherlands, Austria and Azerbaijan songs. My preferences may change as it gets closer to the event and I hear the songs more though, they usually do! I haven't heard the Luxembourg entry yet, I'll have to have a listen.

It is fab. Pure Eurovision! But isn’t a huge fav with the fans it seems in OGAE apart from me ha!

I can not work out why Azerbaijan is so low in the betting ATM.

Its a great song.

It’s ok but his vocals IMO aren’t very strong on the recorded version and I suspect hard to perform live! But maybe I’ll be proven wrong?!

I've been very pleasantly surprised by Cyprus and have been playing it on repeat today, who am I? 😆

Cannot get with the Azerbaijan vocals, just not for me. I loved last year's from them, though.

Currently have Italy, San Marino, Ukraine, Sweden, Austria, Czechia and Denmark on repeat too. Denmark is very repetitive, but I absolutely love what's being repeated so it's no problem for me!

r/Eurovision's favourite has been Albania pretty much since it was the 2nd announced. "What's your top 2" was always Albania then Montenegro. I really like it too but don't it will make much headway.

Switzerland is such a cosy, nostalgic song this year. I loved it the moment I heard it.

So far, Italy, Switzerland and Ukraine for me.

Yeah, I keep having "Mi amore, mi amore, espresso macchiato, macchiato, macchiato, por favore" going through my head all day! It's very catchy.

My top 5 at the moment are (in alphabetical order): Albania, Czechia, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland

In contrast, my bottom 5 (and the ones I tend to skip if they come up on my playlist) are: Armenia, Australia, Croatia, Portugal, Slovenia

Ah yes I am also not an Australia fan. I’m listening loads this year as I am actually going to Basel in May for the finale!

@FeelTheRainOnYou that will be amazing - loved being in Liverpool in 2023 for a semifinal day. So many happy Eurovision fans everywhere!

I don’t mind the tune for Australia but I am uncomfortable with the undertones. Maybe sexist as I do like Malta and Finland. I guess perhaps because they are about female empowerment and love.

OK I think I have officially lost it now. I thought I had radio 2 on in the car and was pleasantly surprised that they were playing a medley of 2025 Eurovision songs. No commentary and they kept coming. I thought wow Scott - I am amazed they have let you do this but it’s brilliant. It’s so different hearing the songs on the radio. They even played Portugal which I really like but isn’t that popular. I text the show to say thanks, 8 o’clock came and they didn’t break for the news. I did something to the radio and Scott was back taking about country to country with no explanation so I thought I would go back to the beginning on BBC sounds to see if he explained it but of course it never happened - it was my play list and the car screen showing radio 2. I have text them again to explain…. I am sure they get lots of strange texts 🤭

I'd have thought people do things like that all the time, so I wouldn't worry 😄

It's a catchy song! Very useful for learning Italian for your holidays too! (Maybe not to address the barista as 'mi amore' though!)
