i Liked that Billy said ‘stinks in here dunnit?’ when they went in to Phil’s. That was the first line ever of the show when they found Reg cox!

Aw, Minty and Gary, I love all the oldies popping in for the anniversary. No way Minty wouldn't have gone to see Phil if he was back the square.

Does make me laugh all these knobs (not Gary or Minty - I love them both) that went off for better things and were never seen again

Phil/Shaz/Kath/Ian all had the right idea sticking around and I bet none of them are short of a bob or two

Sharon Phil and Ian actors all must be millionaires by now.
I suppose if your written out you haven't much say in your 'soap fate ' , but obviously a few have managed to out last being ' killed off'
( although I know that an EE death isn't always necessarily the end )

Kathy was gone for a long time but she wasn't dead-dead fortunately for her 😄 Phil is the only one of those four who hasn't had significant time out though, Ian and Shaz both had chunks of time away. I think Phil's only time off has been for panto.

I liked seeing Minty and Gary, although the football focus for a sten party was a bit weird.

There were some really good lines again tonight. Ian really should know his mum is always right!

I was wondering if Kathy had keys to Phil’s cos of the Ben connection? Kat would have been obvious choice to ask but she seems to be in the plot cupboard at the mo

Just read online that someone dies in the fire at the Vic next week!

And Sonia is definitely leaving thank goodness!

Gary and Minty made all that effort to make the party.....and then bailed half way through! Talk about a short cameo.

Kathy moved herself uninvited into Phil’s at one point to look after Ben so guess she kept the keys. I imagine all his baby mothers have a set, Denise lived with for a while as well!

Loved seeing Gary and Minty but yeah..weird they were on screen for about 10 mins and didn’t see Phil. And why hasn’t George, who was Phil’s bestie all of last year, even gone to check on him. Characters are written so inconsistently and past storylines forgotten. For example Ruby’s dad Johnny murdered Sharon’s beloved mini Den yet Sharon is apparently happy having Ruby live in her house.

I think Martin is going to die in the fire. All this reminiscing over his dead parents seems ominous. Perhaps Stacey leaves as she’s overwhelmed with grief and needs time away to deal with it all.

Sonia’s baby bump…please sack whoever provides props on that set. It’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve EVER seen. I was giggling when Reiss was manhandling her to keep her in the house and kept thinking the balloon or whatever they are using is going to fall out.

The football quiz was only so they could show Jarrod Bowen on screen who is Danny Dyers daughter's partner in real life and plays for West ham.
Arthur, Stacey's boy , looked different! Although we haven't seen him properly in a while to be fair.
Radio times has some lovely photos of ' Walford women ' I don't buy it normally , but just had to splash out for these features.
Gillian ( Kathy ) was told she'd be a household name in 85 , her dad said to her ' what, like demostos is' ! Love the east end humour .. lol

I'm looking forward to the flashback, it was very well done last time. At last everyone has realised there is something seriously amiss with Phil.

80s thanks for the info re the footie quiz, I had no idea of the Danny Dyer connection.

If you've watched the anniversary trailer iPlayer thinks you've watched the latest episode, so it doesn't show the actual latest episode in your "next episodes" section. Very annoying.

I've queued up todays episode ( hello, lurker) and loved that the intro titles were pre-millenium dome. The casting is perfect - the actress playing Peggy reminds me of Daniella Westbrook.
