Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

I don't mind Ian
He can laugh at himself and the various Ian's memes online and seems quite down to earth really.
There have been 61 births on EE!
So roughly one and a bit a year ,although some years have had more than others.
Plus those babies who didn't make it :(
Been a few of those and they were sad and sensitively done.

the80sweregreat · 19/02/2025 13:32

I do remember reading about the Kat and Alfie hacking scandal. They really did fall out apparently.
Joe played Mickey Miller , one of the many Miller clan along with Dawn and a few others.

Jessie Wallace was on Lacey Turner's podcast and she said something along the lines of wishing she'd been quieter in the early days. I think she's had a lot of bad press (possibly made bad choices) in her time and maybe now wants more privacy like Letitia Dean. It must be awful for them, they are scrutinised at every opportunity. I wouldn't want to be involved either, if it meant people may comment on my mood or eagerness or appearance etc.
Letitia has done really well to keep her life private, she did do the Ross Kemp show but she was in full Sharon costume.

I remember seeing interviews with Sharon and Ian as part of the last big anniversary, I think 10 years ago. Letitia Dean was recalling how the press made fun of her weight when EE first started. She would have been 17/18 and saw articles calling her Ms Piggy and journalists speculating how they found clothes to fit her etc, how could they pair someone as ugly as her with Wicksy (Simon Berry was considered to be the hottest actor then). There’s surely a place in hell reserved for some parts of the media.. I think that’s why she is so private.

I don’t think I’ve ever read an interview featuring Steve McFadden which is quite impressive after 30 years on a soap. He’s literally never spoken to the press?! I saw him in real life when I lived near him in Highgate. He had exactly the same demeanour as Phil and didn’t look like a man you’d want to approach😂

Shellingbynight · 19/02/2025 13:37

Joe Swash returned as Micky a few weeks ago (December?) but fortunately only for a day or two!

Oh wow, I can fully imagine the press doing that

How awful 😖

Can see why they'd want their privacy

I saw a video of wossy disrespecting kat, saying something like she's known for playing a slag or something, can't fully remember but it wasn't nice

She stood up for herself though - i think people don't respect soap actors but they're some of the very best

Joe swash basically played himself imo

the80sweregreat · 19/02/2025 13:57

Classic EE on 'U and drama ' tv station is showing old ones with Mickey Miller in them at the moment with Shaun slater and old head Chelsea!

I saw a clip recently with the actor who played Sean (Stacey’s brother) who has done quite a few things in Hollywood now and he said that even some very high calibre actors he has worked with would struggle on a soap

For an actor it’s probably more useful in some regards than going to drama school in terms of learning how to do the job

Yeah definitely, especially if you got to work with the greats, Peggy, dot, pauline, pat

Or Sharon, Ian, the 6 now

Tamwar masood has gone on to do very well

Southeastdweller · 19/02/2025 14:33

Sure - most drama school graduates aren’t successful in acting, whereas going into EE or another big soap can give you a big profile to launch you into other things, if you want to leave that soap. But of course sometimes that doesn’t always work out.

I can't imagine some of the actors doing anything else tbh - nat cass was in motherland, and although she's clearly a good actor, I just thought, what's Sonia doing here

I hope she does though, really like her

the80sweregreat · 19/02/2025 14:37

The Lacey turner podcast with Anita Dobson is very good.
Lacey is a natural interviewer and lets her speak
I'm impressed and I don't often listen to podcasts tbh

I know Joe Swash was in Eastenders but I can't remember anything about his character, that's how much of an impact he made on me.

He played the role of Joe Swash Mickey Miller. It's hard to know where Mickey ends and Joe begins!

Just like Shane Ritchie plays himself (see also his character in Benidorm). I wouldn't mind if he was killed off!

Eastie77Returns · 19/02/2025 14:45

For young actors I think just being on set around some of the EE stalwarts is an education in itself they couldn’t get from Drama school. Even some of the ‘frivolous’ actors like Kim or Honey have very good comic timing and something young actors can learn from. There are some actors who were naturally gifted from a young age (Stacey, Janine) and others who..well are clearly not (looking at eg Nugget and Peter who I think is a lost cause as he has not improved in years). I hear Freddie is charming in real life but I’m afraid the young man really cannot act. Casting him smacks of a decision made by someone to try and appeal to a younger audience.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 19/02/2025 14:50

The last peter was quite good, dunno why they brought this one back

the80sweregreat · 19/02/2025 15:17

They do tend to go on about Den and Angie and the older actors, but for me Lacey Turner as Stacey slater is also up there with EE legends of this soap. From her early days as a mouthy teen , to her past Partum difficulties after having Arthur and dealing with Jean she has come on leaps and bounds!
Jean is a great actress , those two have had some iconic scenes together which were moving.

Do we know how the voting will be as in an app or telephone number? Would like to be prepared hahahah

It's on the BBC website I think. I had a notification this morning that took me there and said it will be live from 8.30pm

Thank you

I've been watching the 40th documentaries while ironing (rock and roll lifestyle on a Wednesday afternoon)
I think Sonia is going as Natalie was quite dismissive about the set and it not being like the old days.
Scott Maslan was either pissed or is just a dick.
The cast reveal was well done. They all looked completely surprised at each person.
I really don't want Martin or Stacey or Kathy to go.
I'm not sure I'm fussed about anyone else.
Can't decide if I'm voting or not. The second one is intriguing.
The clip from tonight looks like their aren't many cast missing
Kathy Cindy Sonia Martin Stacey Lauren Sharon Dee Ravi
Linda Nigel Phil and Grant were in the Arches

bizzey · 19/02/2025 16:25

EE really do know how to do their big Anniversary shows !!

Scott/jack was acting very weird in that extra docu last night 😲.

Don't think Denise wants either of the offerings 😂..

I have decided my life is very sad indeed ..as I have planned early tea/dinner (depending where you live. 😂)..

,Shower, face clean and cream, PJ's , cuppa and biscuits all ready by 7.30 ..

And then to continue into the night with the recordings of Corrie and Emmerdale!!

Whoo hoo ...rock and roll !

I love these exciting weeks !

the80sweregreat · 19/02/2025 16:26

I'm a huge fan, but I'm not voting !
Dee's track record with men is appalling , it's bound to go wrong whoever she ends up with.
Might for the other vote though , but I haven't got an EE app .. is there a thing ?

Porcelainpig · 19/02/2025 16:27

I think it could be Sonia and Bianca going. Gives birth but gets stuck in there and dies. Bianca dies too trying to recue them. Bloody awful storyline really, but dramatic I suppose. I still haven't got over them killing off Abi and Ronnie and Roxy. They like sisters having accidents.

I'm always wrong about it though.

The explosion did seem a bit shoe horned into the episode. Finding Cindy very annoying now and would probably be tempted by a snow shovel too.

the80sweregreat · 19/02/2025 16:29

I can't see Kathy as an attacker , she is better at the put downs usually
I think they went with her because she has been in it from day one ( baring her ' dead ' time away )

Porcelainpig · 19/02/2025 16:30

DareDevil223 · 18/02/2025 21:14

Patsy Palmer is mega glam when she's not "Biancafied", Her hair is glorious.

I noticed the actress that plays Stacey has wonderful pregnancy hair at the moment, which usually falls out quickly after birth. Glad they made the most of it last night.
