"Pwoar stinks in here dunnit " was the first line in EE first episode 1985
Den Watts had just kicked the door to Regs house open -Reg had died

Oh my god, yes!
I have to admit i've watched since the first episode, sad i know

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/02/2025 00:03

Yes I did think that. Obv Ohio isn’t dead

I am going to guess that Sonya doesn't get a hospital birth this time round and somehow ends up in a hostage situation with Reiss and Big Mo ends up delivering this one too.

murasaki · 13/02/2025 12:38

Isn't Phil the resident midwife? I reckon delivering Sonia's baby in the loos of the vic will bring him out of his depression 🤣

Butterbeanbutterbo · 12/02/2025 21:18

When they went in to Phil’s today and Billy said something like - it stinks in here don’t it - was that a throw back to the first ever episode? It seemed familiar. I wonder if the line and the way they came in was the same, anyone know??

Yes pretty much. It was Den Watts who said it as they all barged into Reg Cox’s flat and found him dead

Cattery · 13/02/2025 15:02

Sorry, that’s already been explained xx

Loving Denise asking if Ravis stalking her, when she came in after him.. she bugs me so much!

Oh my God, same! She never stops bloody moaning.

the80sweregreat · 13/02/2025 17:52

I'm very much in the minority, but I like Denise !
I do feel that a young fit drug dealer like Ravi wouldn't be interested in her for a relationship in real life, but she is very attractive and a strong woman!

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 13/02/2025 18:07

I love denise too 🤭

Her and jack are the sane fit though

gingercat02 · 13/02/2025 18:38

I like Dee too, IRL her and JackandJack, and their many children would just put up with each other and get on with day to day life.
Someone here or the other thread said Ravi wouldn't look twice at her. She's gorgeous, but she's nearly twice his age. He would have some early twenties girl on the go (and cheat on her)
I'm still hanging on for a Richard Blackwood return, I would even make do with a Vincent ghost 👻

the80sweregreat · 13/02/2025 18:50

I liked Vincent too.
Kim and him were a great couple together
Agree that Ravi would be chasing a younger one around and definitely have another on the go as a trophy girlfriend too! I could see him with a stunning brunette with big eyelashes. !

qazxc · 13/02/2025 19:23

Ideally Denise would be with neither Jack or Ravi.
Jack is boring, takes her for granted, uses her as a mother figure for his kids, easily gets angry or dismissive of her. Will never stop throwing Ravi affair in her face. He is still in love with his idealised version of Ronnie that no woman will measure up to. He has form for being unfaithful.
Ravi maybe younger and sexy but how much do they have in common. He is a drug dealer that has killed 2 people. His son hates her. He has had a relationship with her daughter. My guess is as soon as the excitement dies down it will get toxic pretty quick.
But if I have to choose, I would pick Ravi, if only to save her from a life of drudgery with Jack.

Oh wow. It's the old ee theme and start / screen is darker and no dome

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/02/2025 19:31

The younger Phil and Grant look just like them from when I rem the younger days of watching

plus the special they did a while back with the same actors

But more the voice of Phil. The whispering

OP posts:
Jellykat · 13/02/2025 19:34

They are spot on with young Phil thats for sure!
Not so much Grant looks wise, voice yes..

Strawberry Switchblade! Grin

I think they did that to contextualise the flashback, it was effective. A nice touch.

Jellykat · 13/02/2025 19:45

Come on Jay, Phils just done the weirdest rant ever, and nearly cried.. of course hes not alright!🙄

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/02/2025 20:00

Fuck me. What a dum dum - one of the best

Grant.

Hello bruv

And back to now theme and colouring

Wasn't totally shocked as had heard annoyingly that he was possibly coming back tho for the 40th 🙀🙀🥲🥲

But didn't expect to see him tonight. Thought would be next week on live

Shadesofscarlett · 13/02/2025 20:00

ello Grant

Jellykat · 13/02/2025 20:00

Yay! Grant to the rescue!!!

Redcrayons · 13/02/2025 20:00

Long time lurker here. Im usually a couple of weeks behind and binge watch at weekends, so don’t join in on the threads but I’m all caught up ready for the live episode.

this has been such a good episode.

murasaki · 13/02/2025 20:02

Young Nigel looked like Alan Davies.

Steve McFadden really is an under rated actor.

When I saw the old episode about their past I wasn't sure about the young Phil casting, but when you saw them side by side, it was spot on.

Really well done.

Meredusoleil · 13/02/2025 20:10

Flipping heck! What an episode tonight 👏

Young Phil was literally perfect. Young Grant sounded just like Ross Kemp. Even Young Peggie sounded like Barbara Windsor.

Found it all rather shocking and traumatic tbh. Couldn't believe what Peggy was saying to Phil - to basically do the world a favour and kill himself 😳

Did Phil's dad Eric actually kill himself in the end or not?

Redcrayons · 13/02/2025 20:10

This storyline is so clever, I love the way they’ve tackled it.

Steve McFadden is excellent, but he’s been phoning it in for years.

Young Phil and Grant were excellent, Young Phil sounded like him and had a look of the last Ben. Such good casting.

and Grant!

the80sweregreat · 13/02/2025 20:13

Phil was telling himself to finish it because of how he is. Maybe ( like a modern day Scrooge ) he will realize his actually worth it and can do more alive than dead and help people!
I'd like him to team up with Linda , but might be too much baggage there !
He did so well today . What a great soap actor he really is ..
