I think it was just a way to shoehorn another well-known past character into an episode. I was expecting another flashback!

I didn’t realise it was only borrowed, still a strange thing to give her.

I have enjoyed them bringing back old characters and talking about stuff that happened. It’s one of my pet peeves that characters are never mentioned again when they leave.

I assumed the Dot thing must be as they're not doing a flashback but wanted to include her in the 40th stuff.
