Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

I still stand by my 'Christmas carol' theory for Linda that she has some sort of awakening that involves visions of her funeral

I don't think she's going anywhere. I feel even more confident of it having watched today's.

They are making sure she sinks to absolute rock bottom before giving her some sort of redemption

Shellingbynight · 11/12/2024 16:41

That does seem more likely. Linda's a well liked character so you'd expect her exit to be either a total surprise, or announced publicly well in advance. They've done neither so if Kellie is leaving they have really mucked it up.

Southeastdweller · 11/12/2024 16:47

Her dying next week after the misery she’s caused this week and leaving behind two small children would be too grim even for E.E. But I’m 99% sure she’s leaving.

Yes my thoughts too, it is too bleak even for EastEnders to have viewers' last memories of Linda of her wetting herself publicly. I don't think she's going to die. She needs proper rehab.

I thought today's episode was very well done. Cindy in her Slutty Santa outfit😆

Kellie is brilliant. Even Bernie was bearable, maybe her forgiveness is what Linda needed to hear. It was nice to see the usually monstrously selfish Lauren being really kind to Linda, and their addiction storylines converging.

Steve McF is brilliant too, he shows so much emotion just with a flicker of his face. Nicola is so like Nish it's as if they have a generic Villain Template and write for that.

Today's episode - one minute Linda is saying to Sharon she'll take Albie to school and then ten minutes later is in the Albert demanding double vodka shots?
Are they allow to serve alcohol so early?

(I really hope KB leaving is just a red herring, I have a soft spot for Linda, and find her current scenes heartbreaking)

Most people who had an alcoholic relative (in a pub too!) would insist she left or went to rehab. Not so Elaine with Linda. Or it’s fleeting a solution then back to Linda being drunk.

the80sweregreat · 11/12/2024 18:14

Phil ( Steve McFadden) is an incredible soap actor. One of the best ( but he did go to RADA)
I'll miss the old rogue if they write him out

Bluesandwhites · 11/12/2024 20:27

"Nicola is so like Nish"

Yes, it's all aba-a-rt fah - - - mily ! Grin

the80sweregreat · 11/12/2024 21:04

Oh yes! Nicola is acting like Nish is with Suki
I didn't see it as a recycled story , but it is.

Viewer23 · 11/12/2024 22:56

the80sweregreat · 11/12/2024 13:12

I'd go out with Phil.
He wouldn't be at all interested in me, but he'd be interesting to have an orange juice with in the pub if he was.
Ditto Sharon too , I think those two are great characters ! I'd love to visit the set and go in the Vic and have a wander round.
Linda and Phil might work if she became sober forever , but I think her and Alfie are a better match , but his back with Kat now ( which I had forgotten about till today tbh !)

I think Phil is a gem! Like all the characters on the show he’s done some horrible things but when the chips are down he comes through for people and he is a principled person. I’d like to see more of his friendship with George. I agree that Linda and Alfie are well suited, I think Kat is way too self absorbed! I’m not liking her lately.

Viewer23 · 11/12/2024 23:01

I also agree that Nicola is acting like Nish - it would be interesting to know more of the back story of her relationship with Teddy because I wonder if there’s abuse there (from her to him).

the80sweregreat · 12/12/2024 03:04

Nicola probably did abuse Teddy.
She is a narcissist for sure

Southeastdweller · 12/12/2024 08:35

Fabulous acting in today’s episode again from Harriet Thorpe and Kellie Bright.

I really don't want to see Linda with Alfie. He's a waste of space and I think he's a terrible actor. I wish he'd get written out. Again. I think Sharon should get fed up with Nicola's interfering and Teddy and Linda should get together. Then Nic would have to take on Elaine.

NowNumber5 · 12/12/2024 09:03

Christmas 2024 trailer is out.
It focuses on the Knights and the Beales in the Vic, and Anna innocently pulls out a memory stick of that recording...

Duff! Duff! Duff!

NeighbourHitMyCar · 12/12/2024 09:16

Totally agree with this. Great acting and I felt Elaine's exasperation at Linda

NeighbourHitMyCar · 12/12/2024 10:08

So if the Xmas trailer is all about the Beales and Knights and New Years is all about the wedding, and probably focused on the Panesars then I'm even more sure Linda isn't leaving- there would be a far more dramatic trailer hinting at a death!

And thinking about ethereal Eastenders episodes (wondering if they will do Christmas carol type story), they do have form for this with Pat's ghost coming back so it's not entirely implausible...🤔

NeighbourHitMyCar · 12/12/2024 10:08

I am doubling down on this now as over invested 😂 😝

the80sweregreat · 12/12/2024 10:26

Sat having a cry
Been a tough year with too many bereavements and something kind of touched me about the whole story today .;(
I know it's only a soap , but some fab acting all round

Southeastdweller · 12/12/2024 10:29

I note Linda’s not in any of the pictures or stories that have been released for Christmas and New Year. She’s leaving.

the80sweregreat · 12/12/2024 10:30

Maybe she'll go to rehab ?

We looked at the same info and came to complete opposite conclusions! Heehee

Either way, looks like there will be fireworks over the festive period!

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 12/12/2024 10:37

the80sweregreat · 12/12/2024 10:30

Maybe she'll go to rehab ?

Rehab would be the best solution. I actually wondered last night (haven’t seen today’s episode yet) whether she was going to die of hypothermia sat on the bench but obviously not!

It’s interesting though that it’s only this week it seems that everyone has turned on Linda due to her drinking yet she’s been drinking too much for ages. Rehab should’ve been involved much sooner for Linda. I seem to recall her going to an AA meeting but was this when Mick was around? Can’t see Danny Dyer returning unless he’s desperate for money.

NowNumber5 · 12/12/2024 11:09

Hope you're OK @the80sweregreat
I found today's episode really touching too.
Brilliant acting from KB and HT.
I'll admit I got dust in my eyes at the bathroom scene 😢

the80sweregreat · 12/12/2024 12:24

Now, I'm ok thank you
Just been a tough year losing some friends and bad news.
Today's one was poignant and well done
It can pull it out the bag at times !

NowNumber5 · 12/12/2024 12:47

It's a sign of a good soap when a storyline resonates with its viewers!

Sorry to flip flop back to classic EE but does anyone remember Courtney Mitchell circa 2006?
This was when both Grant and Phil had their kids living in the Vic.
The actor who played her is Megan Jossa (cousin to our very own Lauren Branning - Jacqueline Jossa)
Anyway just wanted to say what a little firecracker she is! She would give Janine a run for her money in the evil diva stakes.
She actually scares me lol 😆
