Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

although I've heard Corrie have more humour and better storylines

20 years ago it was, but nowadays it's terrible. EastEnders is far better, even on a mediocre day!

I agree the acting in EE is generally really good, with a few exceptions.

Daisymay6 · 08/11/2024 16:36

EastEnders at the moment has more holes than my husband's underwear.
It's silly o clock .
Some channel somewhere is showing brookside from the start ..I may venture in that direction..
It's all gone boring without nish 😭

Southeastdweller · 08/11/2024 16:36

I watch the odd episode of Corrie if I’m at my mother’s house and it’s so boring. Gave up years ago @the80sweregreat Didn’t you used to be a regular too on the Corrie threads on here too around 2013 - 2016?

South, no ! I gave up on Corrie around 1990!
I was shocked to see Gail and Leanne still in it and Steve McDonald too.
The one who plays David Platt was good though. I didn't recognize many of the others really ( or had any idea what was going on either )

I think the acting is pretty good in EE
I was giving Corrie a go the other day ( not watched in many years) and the acting wasn't as good although I've heard they have more humour and better storylines
Reiss is good because we just hate him and I agree that Harvey is like the character in Mum married to that nasty woman ( who really was a good actress and can do a baddie really well!

Harvey is good isn’t he? The actress who plays his girlfriend in Mum I’ve seen her in other programmes and she’s not like that.

I like Harvey though, what you see is what you get with him. Both him and Jean have good chemistry.

I was surprised at Kalfie chemistry and hearing Ian B go on about sex life with Cindy I do think he and Cindy have some chemistry though unsure how much exactly.

@Southeastdweller agreed about the scripts they’re just not good are they?

the80sweregreat · 08/11/2024 17:30

Harvey actor was in ' London's burning ' ( old drama ) and was a similar character to the EE one.
Since the business with his son years ago and some stories with Jean and Maya , he is a 'bit part ' now ( mostly )

the80sweregreat · 08/11/2024 17:37

Smirking Ian will be sulking / outraged Ian once that 'birdsong ' recording of Cindy becomes public knowledge ( in the pub is my prediction)

I think it's important to have bit part characters in Eastenders. It makes it more believable because massive dramas aren't happening to all of them all the time. For some people life just trundles on. Although I do think Kathy and Harvey will end up getting together at some point.

Southeastdweller · 08/11/2024 18:04

@Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain Yeah the writing often is poor which makes me think the BBC are cost-cutting and using cheap writers. And maybe working remotely is a factor if they’re not collaborating on Teams or whatever.

Not dissing the ' bit parters' !

I can imagine it's easier money for them and must be nice being in the background sometimes

I didn't think you were Grin I wonder how they film the storylines? When people are hardly seen, are they the filming bigger storylines or are they just sent home? How are they paid? Hours on screen or salaried? So many questions.

the80sweregreat · 08/11/2024 20:15

I do think that they film at different times as I sometimes notice it's pouring down and then all sunny and nice and cut about at awkward times ( not that I know much about filming !)

I'm not sure if anyone has posted the spoiler about Phil yet? There have been hints he's isolated and lonely, with Teddy 'taking over' his role in the family and of course Phil is now living alone. Teddy is also trying to buy Peggy's from him.

Some mentions of Nicola too, I hope she's a good character.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/tv/31497858/phil-mitchell-isolated-harrowing-eastenders-spoilers/

the80sweregreat · 09/11/2024 09:24

Not seen this about Phil , but I guess that he had managed to alienate everyone over the years and his older children are not around now.
Jumpers mentioned Peggy's to H the other day
I can see him as the new owner there tbh , he has the nightclub owner style and could have a pink jumper framed on the stairs in his honour.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/11/2024 11:03

There was something on the Spoiler about Philth being a tad peeved at Jumpers Low Ball Offer on "Peggys" and tells him he has another offer ( probably to get him to raise his offer price)

But..........if Nicola swans back into the Square.........will she be the new owner?

Answer: Probably . (And change the name to 'Barneys')

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/11/2024 11:05

Phil will need to go under the radar soon as Steve McFadden will be starring in Panto ( Jack&The Beanstalk ) his character is FleshCreep Xmas Shock

the80sweregreat · 09/11/2024 11:35

I like the sound of ' Barney's '

Shellingbynight · 09/11/2024 13:15

I wondered that about Nicola buying Peggy's, she must be arriving to stir things up.

Yes I thought Steve McF must be leaving soon for his panto break, so it's odd they are mentioning this storyline now. Fleshcreep! He has certainly alienated everyone, except maybe Sharon. She has to keep onside with him because he knows about the Six!

I hadn't realised that Teddy was referring to Peggy's when he was talking to Harry.

the80sweregreat · 09/11/2024 13:34

Yes , Phil still has Sharon and Albie on his side although they will probably show them ' too busy' to see him or pushing them away.

Shellingbynight · 09/11/2024 13:54

Yes I'm sure he will insist he doesn't need 'help', he's that type of guy!

the80sweregreat · 09/11/2024 14:14

Phil ' the big man' Mitchell asking for help with his mental health isn't on. He will just suffer in silence I suppose and say his fine. 🙄
He could go and visit Grant maybe? They will have to write him out somehow for the Christmas stint.

Shellingbynight · 09/11/2024 15:02

Yes he'll need a couple of months out for that. I can't remember if he and Grant are friends at the moment. I doubt he'll visit Sam, she told Kat about Emma!

the80sweregreat · 09/11/2024 15:34

Yes, Sam is off the Christmas card list!

catin8oots · 10/11/2024 13:05

Oh just seen the trailer looks like Bernie is back

the80sweregreat · 10/11/2024 13:27

I have read a few spoilers on line and Bernie is back tormenting Linda by the sounds.
Teddy's ex shows up.
(I wonder if she'll stay in it long ?)
I couldn't find any actual trailer though , was it on tv cat ?
