Just binge-watched S3. What a ride!

Anyone else had a look yet?

I agree, I understood it that she’s not done yet. I also read that it echoes a similar scene in Mad Men.

BabaJaeger · 08/03/2026 09:48

ok finally caught up at last (I'm watching S1 at the same time so it's all terribly confusing)

I thought it was a great ep, didn't get the ambivalence but will have a look at the links in a minute

my only eyeroll: the MUSIC. Edith Piaf in Paris??...then Brel?? come on, that's just lazy

BabaJaeger · 08/03/2026 09:49

...lil clip of danse macabre made me laugh, though

BlanklyMyDear · 10/03/2026 16:29

I’ve started from S1 again.

It Is Still Epic.

Tinybigtanya · 10/03/2026 17:00

When it’s good, it’s good. I’ve watched the Sopranos five times. Just saying.

BlanklyMyDear · 10/03/2026 17:45

<Whispers>

I have never watched The Sopranos …

CurrentHun · 10/03/2026 17:46

And me neither! I love The Wire though, so hoping I might like it..

CurrentHun · 10/03/2026 17:48

Just caught the odd episode of The Sopranos here and there years ago, but I’ve never wanted to watch close up violence so I haven’t gone back to it.

Not have I. Or The Wire!

BlanklyMyDear · 10/03/2026 17:56

I appreciate violence if it’s truly cinematic. There was an episode of Gangs of London (S1) that was just - beyond anything I’d ever seen on screen before. Can’t recall if it won any prizes; it deserved them all.

But it’s honestly wonderful watching Harper and Yasmin at the start, knowing how they end up. Eric commenting (in the opening scene of the whole show) that she’s the first person he’s ever known to put their IQ on their CV. And Yasmin, by contrast, stumbling back to the office with the lunch run in what must be six inch high heels … It wasn’t subtle!

dapsnotplimsolls · 10/03/2026 18:11

I did a swift re-watch of S3 before this started then couldn't resist watching 1 and 2 as well. I'm a bit bereft now!

BlanklyMyDear · 10/03/2026 19:27

Bereft is what I’m trying to head off. Almost everything is rubbish compared to this!

Tinybigtanya · 10/03/2026 20:22

Would Succession fill the void maybe? Very slick writing. I think I could stand watching it again. Some great locations.

Netaporter · 11/03/2026 08:54

@BlanklyMyDear recommendations for non sci-fi / non- dystopian to fill your void from me:

Succession - sky
Billions - Sky
The morning Show - apple
Tehran - apple
Your friends and Neighbours - apple
Landman - paramount
presumed innocent - apple
defending jacob - apple
wecrashed - apple
Mobland - paramount

Thanks both - Succession is pretty much the only thing I’d measure Industry against. (I may have done so up thread!) But it’s too soon for a re-watch of that. (Oddly enough I love sci-fi and dystopian things if not too globally depressing. What I had to give up on was The Walsh Sisters. There was just no discovery there.)

Had to close my eyes around 3.am after Industry S2, Ep3 - the one with the shoot. Surely there cannot be a greater episode of TV anywhere in history? Loved it the first time, loved it even more on a second viewing. The way Harper fully comes into her own, professionally.

And I honestly could gaze at Jesse Bloom for the rest of eternity …

Netaporter · 11/03/2026 15:55

Sci-Fi Dystopian list watch:

Silo - Apple
For all Mankind - Apple
Paradise - Disney
Servant - Apple

Hard Agree on The Walsh Sisters by the way!

Agree on The Walsh sisters too, I had to stop watching.
I love your list OP and have watched most of them. For me Heated Rivalry on Sky/Now is my top show but for different reasons.

Did you ever see Transparent? It was on prime about 6 years agom Jay Duplass was a main character in that. Brilliant series, but got cancelled due o Jeffrey Tambora behaviour and no one ever talks about it now. So so good though
