It was great! I miss this series already. Might have to rewatch from the start. The Maxwell plot twist wasn’t what I expected to happen.
The Paris hotel setting was correct for its nazi collaboration era historical overtones. I thought Yas had thought the aristocratic nazis were awful after the castle stay, though. I can’t work out if launching a blackmail business and targeting all the rich nazi sympathisers at the dinner was about maybe justifying that as a strange kind of justice? or if she was just on board professionally with her PR for the politician and that being let into his circle for fundraising had given her an in? or if she was actually into this sinister new politics.
Living off blackmail seems a mighty dangerous scheme to pull off with just Hayley in her corner, who seems way more worldly wise than Yas. Is Hayley the real power then? What’s in this for Hayley? Wasn’t Hayley a plant at Tender by the Whitney/state forces shadowy figures?
in that strange scene when Yas gave away her dress and said ‘see Paris and die’ to Hayley, I couldn’t work out if Hayley was being given a threat.
These are plot threads maybe we shouldn’t pull on but I thought if Yas is launching a blackmail operation then she would need some heavies of some kind to back her up. She’d be going up against some very powerful men. So is Hayley, with her connections, the key to that?
Same query on the Henry plot line. I didn’t expect Henry to suddenly wave his old school tie in Whitney’s face pull rank like that. Where did that entitled sense of backbone come from at the very last minute?
Given Henry’s suspicions of state actor involvement wouldn’t he have been more sensible to be absolutely terrified of Whitney? How come Whitney didn’t just kidnap him in the PJ? He easily could have done. It was a risk to let Henry go because he’d already told Henry what the plan was.
