Just binge-watched S3. What a ride!

Anyone else had a look yet?

Blimey, I didn't see any of this coming - is the implication that Whitney is a Russian asset?

No - my take is that he has borrowed their money? He envies Henry’s connections to money/power because he doesn’t have that himself. His investment source is high risk.

There was a mention of Jesse Bloom - will he be back? Hope so!

Ah that makes more sense. Who was he talking to when he was giving those code numbers do you think?

dapsnotplimsolls · 16/02/2026 19:26

I need to watch the Russian bit again. I wonder how many of the Tender bods actually know that it's all built on sand.

My take was that Whitney is in hock to The Russians. I didn’t get the Japanese reference but it would be Triad related if they are involved. Neither of these two let you off the hook…so Whitney has to keep going/swimming moving the same money around making it look like he has more than he does or his own life is in peril.

The phone call at the end was in Japanese, according to my subtitles?

dapsnotplimsolls · 16/02/2026 19:45

I assumed he was giving a code related to money he has stashed somewhere.

My take was that was moving money from a Japanese ‘investment’firm to fill the hole created elsewhere and they were the authorisation codes allowing him to do so?

A Japanese firm holding funds he needs to control.

For anyone who has watched Heated Rivalry and Industry S4 episode 6, Spoiler : there is already an edit on TikTok of the industry club scene to All the things she said.

MissMontague19 · 17/02/2026 01:20

Well as it's based on Wirecard and I think it was definitely implying he was a Russian asset. I thought the call at the end was him arranging his extraction.

BlanklyMyDear · 17/02/2026 02:20

That was better than Succession.

Just gobsmackingly tense. And weird. And Shakespearean. Eric trembling with horror from the moment he got the email. Tony Day just being. Yas taking from Haley what she refused to take from Harper …

Eric’s Best Day - indeed.

CurrentHun · 17/02/2026 07:41

Was that the end of the series?
I can’t believe it was all left on such a cliffhanging situation. Must mean they’re going to make more series, right? Absolutely amazing. So well made. What a time to watch it as well with all the geopolitical discussions we have going on and Epstein files revealing the very long blackmailing tentacles there.

Thank you to whoever mentioned the Wirecard documentary on Netflix. That whole thing is wild. Stranger than fiction.

No, 2 episodes to go.

Nomdemare · 17/02/2026 08:34

So good! Such clever writing and so much overlay with current Epstein/Russia/kompromat themes

that was what i thought too, but the trailer for the next episode shows him still in london

dapsnotplimsolls · 17/02/2026 10:26

I'm assuming/hoping the last 2 episodes will be Harper's revenge. Hopefully with the help of Jesse Bloom!

BlanklyMyDear · 17/02/2026 10:42

The return of Jesse Bloom would absolutely make my year, if not this entire decade …

He must have been mentioned for a reason.

KillingMeDeftIy · 17/02/2026 16:09

Did he return briefly in season 3? I feel like he did but now I'm not sure if I imagined it!

No, I think there was a mention of him being in prison - insider trading or something?

oh my GOD I FOUND YOU PEOPLE

I looked for a thread on here a while ago but didn't find anything

been watching avidly since s1 but find I cannot understand what the fuck is going on/a single word eg Harper or Eric say

my brain just goes: tiny girl worried she lose money/her boss angry she lose money/rich girl sad her dad is awful/poor boy sad he like rich girl etc etc

<shuffles back though thread for explainers>

😂 this is me too!

Pierpointer · 20/02/2026 08:41

Finally watched the latest episode. This season is getting better and better. Absolutely loved Harper’s speech at the finance seminar. The whole Dear Henry piece was very clever and as always, excellent writing.

And then, Eric. Oh, Eric. ERIC!!! He is just such a brilliant, complex character and Ken Leung is impeccable.

DH questioned why Harper didn’t push for more of an explanation from Eric but she didn’t need to. She understood enough - she knew knowing more would cause more harm than good.

The way she could cry for Eric’s metaphorical death so easily compared to her mother’s actual death... So good.

BlanklyMyDear · 20/02/2026 08:59

Beautifully put, @Pierpointer!

dapsnotplimsolls · 20/02/2026 09:38

There was an article yesterday in the Guardian about programmes that should have ended after one series and Industry was one of them. Pfffftttt!
