@Blondeshavemorefun I think she's taken very minimal maternity leave!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2025 19:54

She certainly has !!

Who else was quite surprised o hear Holby had a Code of Conduct, considering the way HR processes usually play out there. 🤣

Siobhan was referring to the NMC code of conduct, not HRs.

🤣

Probably no need to get too pedantic. Ruins the joke about Holby"s lack of hiring process and non existence period of notice

LIZS · 18/01/2025 21:47

Is this Dylan's exit storyline?

LIZS · 18/01/2025 21:47

Is this Dylan's exit storyline?

Noooooo, it had better not be!!! 😭 It might be Jodie's, though.

HobnobsChoice · 19/01/2025 04:07

That felt like such another disjointed episode. Jacob shouting and being unreasonable and then the bizarre wine incident. Sophie Purple Nurse seems to mostly be around to give Dylan a hug and then pull strings.
Jodie I really want to sod off now and Faith as well. I do really like Ngozi and Nicole though, I hope it works out for them.

With a bit of luck, it's Jacob's. What a bizarre reaction in the shop!

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 19/01/2025 09:23

It was an odd episode.

Why is Jodie still hanging around the dead woman's husband? Even after he threatened to expose Dylan. Is a shag more important than integrity or her job! If she had kept her knickers on, she wouldn't have thrown Dylan into the shit but she was still covering her own arse and cosying up to the dead woman's husband. My guess is he'll do a story on Jodie shagging a patients husband and still run the story about Dylan.

I like Rida and Cam but Jodie can leave.

AnImaginaryCat · 19/01/2025 09:41

Was that one of the usual long term extras (Wayne I think) moonlighting on the psych ward?

OP posts:
AnImaginaryCat · 19/01/2025 10:50

It better not be Dylan leaving. If it is they need to introduce another likeable character, too many dislikeable ones. Which is fine, wouldn't be Casualty without them - but we need really nice characters too balance them out.

Speaking of dislikeable characters, Jake is becoming irritating dislikeable rather that funny dislikeable. Glad New Blake gave him a few time truths.

Anyone else bored of the Rash/Tariq storyline? Did Rash set up the dinner?

NorthernGirl1981 · 19/01/2025 12:37

Why is there so much focus being put on the fact that Jodie was drinking alcohol? There have been little digs/comments made about it over the last two episodes.

She wasn’t on shift so why would she be investigated over it?

Are nurses or doctors never allowed to drink alcohol just in case an accident happens nearby?

I feel the writers have ruined Rash now. The actor needs to leave and find better projects.

The Uncle knew Rash had invited Tariq to the dinner but the Uncle didn’t think Tariq would actually come. That was the impression I got from the episode anyway.

Yes. But more bored of Tariq. Rash can stay - though for more doctoring than dealing with difficult men in his family.

The family drama needs to decrease as well - small bit if it's fine but not multiple ones. I'm a bit concerned that there's a Luca physically abusing Faith but people blame Iain is in the pipeline.

As long as it ends in Faith being written out I don't mind where that storyline goes. I'm sick of her whining and whimpering.

LIZS · 19/01/2025 12:50

Why did the sw so happily allow Luca to move to gm(did we even know she existed?) and should there not be ss involvement with the other children?

sinckersnack · 19/01/2025 13:09

Still don't understand why Awful Aaron wasn't prosecuted for causing death by dangerous driving. He drove his car into a restaurant at speed. How could that have happened if he'd been driving reasonably??? ( A bump, a speeding ticket maybe - but to mount the pavement and hit the wall with enough force to end up inside???)
And the ridiculous behaviour of the partner who went deaf! And his girlfriend who was practically dead suddenly looking fine twenty minutes later....??? And agree about Jacob - where did that come from??!!
A chaotic episode indeed.

Yes - that was mad, he lost it and broke up with his girlfriend because he couldn't hear less than 24hrs after a big explosion. Making out like it was worse experience than almost dying or potentially losing your leg. I mean, it's not fun, but calm down a tad and give it a bit of time.

Agree about Awful Aaron - no self reflection from him is there. He caused the accident that killed his wife, and he shagged a young woman at his wife's funeral. Not even a smidge of guilt.

I think the girls are adults now. Natalia is definitely over 18.

FizzingAda · 19/01/2025 14:57

It was a bit bonkers this week. People acting out of character. This had better not be the writing out of Dylan over the awful Jodie, if he goes, I go!
whyndidn't someone write for the deaf man that TEMPORARY hearing loss after an explosion is a thing.
and the child Indie staring at everything like a shocked puppy.
I think the same SWs are writing Casualty as are writing the Archers at the moment 🙄

LIZS · 19/01/2025 15:15

Yes Indie is going to have to develop more of a poker face. Do they not teach them that?

There's lots about conduct and not bringing the profession into disrepute etc, both in the NMC conduct and in your local Trust. You have to intervene if you see an incident.

When I was a nurse, a colleague was disciplined and it went to tribunal, because she didn't stop at an incident because she was walking her dogs, and arguably couldn't look after dogs and sick people at the same time.
