I was crying my eyes out at Cara and Olive

Me too 😭 Lots of tears tonight

daffodilandtulip · 04/05/2025 08:35

Did I miss Rida telling all to Cam? What a shame she didn't tell Flynn, he would have helped.

I hope Stevie doesn't apologise to Faith, what she said was spot on. Their friendship has never made sense. And I would quite like it if Stevie and Ian got together, they'd be a much better match.

I thought they were going to go for a daft storyline where the dad didn't want the girl and Stevie ended up adopting her 😂

And again, 30 seconds of screentime for the lovely Dylan but he still nails it as being the best.

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 04/05/2025 08:36

It was so sad last night.

How many rooms does Jan have? She already has Teddy. Isn't Jacob still living there with his grandson and his son?

AnImaginaryCat · 04/05/2025 08:45

Jan's house evidently possess the same expanding power that the Ambulance bay does.

I'm sorry to say I just can't get on board with the acting skills of whoever plays Indie. I’ve tried to like the character but all the wide-eyed stare to the I've-forgotten-my-glasses squint face acting is just distracting me.

I wasn’t sure if Jacob et al were still there. Jan is hardly the best example of how to support a prisoner relative though.

Completely agree, I can’t stand Indie. Such an unlikeable character. She acts like a stroppy child with a self-inflated ego who wants to be an adult.

I’d rather watch scenes with Faith in than scenes with Indie in.

daffodilandtulip · 04/05/2025 09:38

It's casualty though. They all start off with unlikeable features, and then morph into a standard medic. A week with Jan, and she'll be the best paramedic in the Southwest.

Frith2013 · 04/05/2025 09:57

The indie actress also pops up in McDonalds adverts.

purpleme12 · 04/05/2025 10:04

I've heard this but I can't think of it

Which McDonald's adverts are we talking about?

Wasn’t she on Just eat adverts?

I love Indie, I think she's great.

I noticed that too!

As for last night, it was so sad. I knew Indie would end up at Jan's, was so obvious. All houses in soapland are tardis-like though.

HobnobsChoice · 04/05/2025 16:07

purpleme12 · 03/05/2025 23:33

I guess the reason Ngozi turned to alcohol was because she was trying to hide who she was in her own country because it's seen as so shameful
And she knew she couldn't do it there

She's Nigerian isn't she. Being gay or lesbian is actually illegal there, you can serve years in prison for it and violence is common place. No wonder she was drinking to excess. I really like Ngozi as a character and a nurse.

purpleme12 · 04/05/2025 16:09

Oh ok didn't know that

I like Indie too.

I’d already said to DH that I think Jan must commute to Holby from Albert Square.

That was an excellent episode and I cried too. Although I wish they’d shelled out to give Olive’s dad some lines.

At least this time Rida not speaking did make sense. We know Flynn and his father in law are on bad terms but she has no idea of that.

NorthernGirl1981 · 05/05/2025 18:29

I think Flynn is heavily controlled by his father-in-law (FIL), seeing as his FIL seems to know that Flynn isn’t a faithful husband. There is certainly a sense of dominance from FIL towards Flynn…..almost like he knows he holds all the cards to ruin Flynn’s marriage.

I think if Rida had told Flynn then he would have hushed it up, knowing that if he followed it up his FIL would no doubt destroy his marriage by disclosing Flynn’s infidelities to the wife.

In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Flynn already knows that his FIL is some kind of sex pest and their relationship is based on the idea that if Flynn turns a blind eye to FIL’s inapprorpriate behaviour towards nurses, then FIL will turn a blind eye to Flynn’s affairs.

I mean Flynn must hold something over FIL….. otherwise why wouldn’t FIL tell his daughter that she’s being cheated on? What man would want his daughter to be married to a man who had affairs?

There must be a reason why FIL keeps quiet about Flynn’s cheating and the only logical explanation is because Flynn is hiding some of FIL’s dirty secrets in return…..

FagsMagsandBags · 05/05/2025 23:08

This week's came close to breaking me with the tears but it was because it was very close to home and very well done.

I'm not sure how Faith comes back from this with Stevie and not sure whether I want her to. It's not just the fact that she's so wet and thinks she can soothe all ills with a sweet voice and I know everything attitude, it's that she really does think she knows what she's talking about here and it's all a bollocks of lies and delusion. She's also infantilising a fully grown woman who's been through trauma and along the way sort of making it about her as well ... not a pretty sight to behold.

It was interesting that when Ian turned up my first thought was that Faith had told him everything and he was totally over her bullshit so had gone to pick up Stevie because he thought she deserved better. It struck me instantly that they would have made a far better couple than Ian and Faith and it's a shame that that probably can't happen now mostly because of the affair with Richard.

I think it's really very good television at the moment with good storylines happening slightly apart but also slightly overlapping. As always, a nit more Dylan never goes amiss.

Poor Rida, feel really bad for her. I hope the surgeon gets his comeuppance. I'm sure he will!

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/05/2025 08:19

No Cameron never told them and shy they fell out months ago

I had hoped Flynn would have said something and realised what rida was trying to say

poor obi. His mums gayness must be hard due to their religion and Hope she goes to an aa meeting

the fact she stayed off the booze while going through blonde nurse mental health issues is amazing

so Jan to the rescue. As always. And lives in a tardis tho looks like a normal 3 bed semi but has teddy and think Jacob and baby still there

indie annoys me. Not sure if nose ring or what or her whole attitude

agree Flynn knows fil is touchy feely 😢

I did wonder if olive would end up with Stevie if dad didn’t want her

GetDressedYouMerryGentlemen · 10/05/2025 10:27

I did wonder if olive would end up with Stevie if dad didn’t want her

And then we would get about 2 episodes about the difficulty of juggling being a Dr with having a child and then she wouldn't be mentioned again until at some future point when we had almost forgotten about her she contracted a rare disease, was involved in a freak accident or caused a hospital wide lockdown when she threatened the ED with home made terror weapons in revenge for her mum's death. Or probably all three.

daffodilandtulip · 10/05/2025 18:54

I don't think the scriptwriters had decided she was going to be an alcoholic at that point 😂

Just feels like an unnecessary storyline being shoehorned in for no reason.

Oh really

so she just entered the room to back out again

what was the point of that

purpleme12 · 10/05/2025 20:22

She entered the room and backed out again cos she saw Dylan in the meeting and she wasn't expecting to and she didn't want anyone she knew to know about her alcohol addiction

LIZS · 10/05/2025 22:09

Surely the fire scene would have been secured especially if there were suspicions as to how it started. Yawn at yet another paramedic/prisoner storyline.

placemats · 10/05/2025 22:36

At least they got the safe guarding right 👍 regarding the self harming child. Under 18 is regarded as a child.

Why did Rida, who had just joined the group, have the authority to go public?

And I have to say that I was shocked at the burning house outcome. That was a very sad story line.

Good episode this week.
