I didn't realise Indie kept the money ? I thought she turned it down.

but

I did wonder if she might move into the lady's home ? it's remote and no one would figure out she shouldn't be there ? tho she doesn't drive / have a car ?

She turned the money down initially when the old lady gave it to her, but the lady then left it for her in an envelope. I’m assuming that now the lady has died Indie will keep the money.

I agree with you about the house.

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 23/03/2025 09:45

Thank you, I missed the bit with the envelope.

WhatICallMyUsername · 23/03/2025 10:12

@NorthernGirl1981 it’s Flynn Byron

daffodilandtulip · 23/03/2025 10:44

A farm accident AND a whodunnit?! Are they ok?

MarchWindsAnd · 23/03/2025 11:15

Please help me with a plot point about last week’s episode. I didn’t pay enough attention as I thought it was a single episode storyline.

Flynn was in an accident and his FIL Robert Bathurst operated on him.

How did the surgeon know that Flynn was being unfaithful to his daughter?

I think because he came in with the other woman who was wearing his jacket. I imagine the surgeon had suspicions anyway otherwise it was quite a big leap.

MarchWindsAnd · 23/03/2025 12:41

@Littletreefrog , I vaguely remember that, thank you.

Yes, a big leap indeed. He could just have been a helpful passer-by who put his jacket on the casualty to keep her warm.

Doubleraspberry · 23/03/2025 17:13

I think it was a bit obvious they’d been together from his behaviour.

Faith definitely went to get a doctor to Corbin what she could see, not because she couldn’t do the scan.

I hope there’s no comeback over that money for Indie. I’ve got quite fond of her.

I will NOT miss Tariq. Although seeing him being managed by the new clinical lead would have been inferesting.

Who else spotted Lilian from the Archers? Always so weird to recognise a voice and not a face!

MarchWindsAnd · 23/03/2025 19:57

Lilian Bellamy - so that’s who it was. I recognise the face but not the voice!

EBearhug · 23/03/2025 22:42

Oh, that's why she seemed familiar! She usually looks a bit more glam IRL.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/03/2025 19:57

Why do I never seem to watch this the weeks it’s on ?

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/03/2025 20:53

Awww no baby tho tbh prob better /easier for her tho how can tests show her preg but not - or is it the hormones on the mass on ovary confuse tests

what will indie do with the money and in life /sleeping in general

thi why was she left it by the old lady

tareq has been trouble for ages - R.E.M. the girl who fall and the affair he was having

assume faith saw there was no baby

ThatsNotMyTeen · 29/03/2025 21:05

Who was following her there? Was it that Marcus do we think?

MarchWindsAnd · 29/03/2025 21:36

We didn’t get much of a hint as to who was following her. If it had been someone she knew, wouldn’t she have noticed them?

FagsMagsandBags · 29/03/2025 21:45

She's probably a bit distracted what with possible cancer and grief. I want her to be okay, I love her character and I love the arc she's been through so far.

hoarahloux · 29/03/2025 23:40

Got a bit predictable with the old man. Saying "Jack" - that's not his name, that's who he wants. Stevie calming him - his person is Irish. I liked Flynn backing Stevie even though it was clearly something of a catastrophic decision - between that and Rida leaving, Flynn's in a bad place.

Good for Rida! She looked genuinely happy about it. Maybe a month with that surgeon and she'll want to come back though. He respects her when she's right but zero respect for her before that.

hoarahloux · 29/03/2025 23:40

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/03/2025 19:57

watch two episodes in a row and perhaps you'll catch up

Optimist1 · 30/03/2025 07:40

@hoarahloux I thought the surgeon man was deliberately sabotaging Flynn by offering Rida a job, thus creating a vacancy in A&E, simultaneously punishing Flynn's authorising the expensive drug by putting a recruitment/agency freeze in place. Brutally setting him up to fail.

Spidey66 · 30/03/2025 10:43

I love Rida, I think she's lovely and such a good nurse.

Spider from Corrie playing Indie's dad.....didn't realise at first, it was someone on a FB group I'm on pointed it out.

Who's stalking Stevie? Siobhan? Or one of Siobhan's kids (if they're old enough to drive, not sure if they're teens or older.)

Spidey66 · 30/03/2025 10:48

Ps Surgeon offering Rida a job....the NHS doesn't work like that, or indeed like Flynn "sacking" Tariq last week. There are procedures. She has to apply like everyone else. And seriously, he may have been impressed by her skills and knowledge with appendicitis girl but that was a snapshot (even though she is a good nurse).

And he offered her the ANP role even though she's not qualified? The most is perhaps a higher pay band with the opportunity to do the ANP qualification if she was interested and had the aptitude.

purpleme12 · 30/03/2025 10:48

I didn't know it was Spider

The whole storyline was ridiculous. At the end of the day, all she did was push for a second opinion because she was confident there was something wrong with her patient which is what 1000’s of nurses do everyday.

You need to be very experienced and knowledgable to get an ANP role, whereas she’s been qualified for about a year and has no surgical experience 🤣

And as for him pretty much handing her the job there and then even though telling her the post is going to be formally advertised…..well that was just another factor that made me roll my eyes.

But anyway…..

I’m really loving Stevie’s character at the moment and I hope she’s going to be okay. I was so touched by her portrayal of wanting to extend that man’s life so his wife could say goodbye to him. And at the end when she was having a little cry at his bedside and saying that she hoped he hadn’t been scared…..well I admit I did shed a tear.

I can’t even guess at who would be stalking her and taking photos of her 🤷‍♀️

AnImaginaryCat · 30/03/2025 12:19

We all know Holby has it's own HR, so it doesn't matter what happens in the NHS.

I hope this doesn't mean Rida has left. She's one of the best characters.

Although… I was thinking how many agency nurse hours that £10k could have bought with the ED’s budget, in a chronically understaffed department, potentially saving the lives of several people who might then go on to live for years.

I’m not 100% sure but I think staff budgets and medication budgets are kept separate from each other, i.e it isn’t one big pot of money that can be spent however someone chooses. There are set pots of money set aside for different uses and money can’t be taken from one pot to put in another.

Taking £10k out the drug budget won’t have any effect on what the department is allowed to spend on staffing.

Happy to be told otherwise though 🤣
